Louise Jensen is by now a fairly well-known author in the psychological thriller/domestic noir thriller genre but I think this was her first book I read. It is about a family of four, Ellen the mother an orthopaedic surgeon who is currently not working, Aidan the father a vet and the two boys Connor and Kieron. Kieron has some rare possibly terminal disease while Connor is a sensitive 17 years old. In the picture, there are also two of Connor's good friends: Ryan and Tyler. We know that something happened to Connor's girlfriend Hailey's but we don't know what. First Tyler then Ryan disappear and everyone fears that Connor might be the next as the three were always together and they were together the night something happened to Hailey. Connor disappears as well but it is not what it seems. It's a complex thriller with several punchy twists, I couldn't work out who could be the kidnapper and the ending was genuinely surprising although a bit far fetched and very dark. You can tell that Jensen is a bit more experienced in writing thrilling plots than other authors. Overall it kept me busy and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery with lots of family secrets. 4.5 stars from me.
Lucy: Mother. Wife. Falling to pieces.
Aidan: Father. Husband. In too deep.
Connor: Son. Friend. Can never tell the truth. Everyone in this family has something to hide, but what are they trying to protect, and at what cost?
This is one of those books that I was not really sure what to expect or what could possibly happen, the plot description really does not give much away! This read turned out to be incredibly gripping and absolutely rammed with secrets and twists. Jensen really does not let up, and as the plot goes on, the twists and shocks keep coming, it really is a dramatic read. I love a book packed with twists and I love it even more when they manage to shock me, which this absolutely did. Some of them are more obvious but some turn the plot completely on its head and ensure the book goes on in a brand new, thrilling direction.
At the heart of this book is Lucy and her family. Again, at the beginning everything is a bit jumbled and it takes a little while to untangle personalities and what might be happening but it is absolutely worth the wait. The family are very realistic and it was a joy to get to know them, learn about them and most importantly, discover their secrets, of which there are many! As this read focuses so much around a family, it means the emotion is incredibly raw, there is a lot going on throughout this and I felt everything the family were going through.
'All For You' is an exhilarating read that is jam packed with twists and shocks. I loved reading this and am still reeling from some of the surprises.
Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for an advance copy.
I really enjoyed the first 3/4 of this book , and I did not have a clue what was happening . The end really was a let down for me , and I know it is a work of fiction but was so seriously over the top that I just couldn't imagine it happening . Lucy is married to Aiden and mum to Connor & Kieron the latter who is seriously ill with a long term health condition . We find out as the book goes on that Connor and his friends have a pretty big secret from the previous year and as they all go missing one by one I was itching to find out what had happened . I have loved most of Louise Jensen's previous books but as mentioned previously the last part of the book really was a let down for me . Great read up til then and a few good twists
Having read several of this author’s books, I was looking forward to reading this one and it certainly lived up to expectations.
Lucy, Aiden and Connor are all keeping secrets. But one big secret is going to push someone over the edge, and the repercussions for this family don't bear thinking about.
A compelling gritty drama which has plenty of twists to keep you guessing until the end. This was a great read.
5 Stars from me
BLOODY HELL! What a story!
Hold on to your hat and don't kid yourself that you'll be doing anything other than reading on the day that you start this one. Also, don't be thinking that you'll suss it out, this book is twistier than a bag of snakes riding a tornado, on a roller coaster!
All For You brings tension to whole new levels and I am not entirely sure if I actually breathed once while reading it.
My favourite character? Connor.
There is so much at stake at so many points in this story and whenever I even vaguely began to think I had worked out what was going on the sands shifted again leaving me dumped unceremoniously on my backside, not quite sure which way was up.
I wonder if it resonated so much because I am a mother of two boys and I couldn't help but draw parallels and imagine how I would feel in Lucy's shoes.
Argh it is so hard to write this review without giving away spoilers... and this story is too good to spoil for you, you really must enjoy it first hand for yourself.
An absolute belter of a read, full of perfectly observed thoughts and emotions from teenagers to husbands, friends, wives and even doctors! The characterisation throughout is exceptional and believable and every single person brings something to the story.
I can't recommend this enough, if you are a fan of psychological thrillers, you will LOVE this.
Thank you to Netgalley, HQ and Louise Jensen for this ARC in return for my honest review. I've read all of Louise's thrillers, so I was excited to get my hands on this one. I'm a big fan of books with multiple character perspectives and I loved how the story slowly unfolded bit by bit. I was gripped from the opening pages right through to the end. Little else was done today as I couldn't put down this compulsive read. It deserves to be a huge hit.
Firstly a massive thank you to netgalley for the oppurtunity to review this new louise jensen book.
So i an a massive Louise Jensen fan already. Every book of hers i have loved. Well im afraid to say that that this book, was absolutely no different! It was an amazing book. I was hooked from the beginning and the more i read, ths more i couldnt put it down. Louise is just getting better and better the more books she writes.i didnt see what was going to happen, but wow, when it all started coming together, i just have no words, absolutely brilliant. This is one i would a million percent recommend. Full of suspense and edge of your seat moments. If i could give more than 5 stars i would because this book is definitely one of my favourite reads so far of 2021
Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I love Louise's books. That being said, I"m not sure how I feel about this book. The writing was great. She did a wonderful job setting up backgrounds and character descriptions. She had so many twists in there that every time I thought I had it figured out, I found out I was way off base. The book was great, just feel unsettled about the plot overall. And honestly, it's a thriller so I'm probably supposed to feel that way! Def recommended!
The queen of psycho thrillers is back with her next novel, darker than the previous and which will, as always, knock your socks off!
I started this over the bank holiday weekend and finished Monday but it’s taken me a few days to get my words down onto paper. (or screen!)
As I come to expect with all her novels the book starts out with a great opening that gets the adrenaline pumping as you’re swung into another intriguing storyline, kicking your super sleuth brain into gear.
After reading the blurb, I couldn’t wait to find out about these complex characters, they all have secrets waiting to be blown up in our faces. It wasn’t just a plot that progresses, it’s a plot that you know will take many twists and turns.
This was the Pandora’s box of what to expect in a psychological thriller! There were disturbing elements as well as tender ones which shows the authors extraordinary writing skill to emit so many emotions from the reader.
Those familiar elements of her writing are always a comfort to me. She ‘feels’ the characters emotions and manages to project that through her words to the reader. This is expertly coincided with a sprinkling of little goosebump reminders that you are in fact reading a psychological thriller!
It had everything I love about the authors writing and more! The characters were just superbly written to start off with, and each had an air of mystery about them. They were mysterious, captivating and deadly suspicious. We knew they had secrets but trying to guess what they are will leave you both gobsmacked and equally stumped as you’re trying to guess. There’s so much going on that I couldn’t read quick enough to find out.
Such a fabulously plotted novel which leaves you twisted up in knots not knowing which line of suspicion it’s following or where the storyline will end up.
It’s about time Amazon allowed us to award more stars isn’t it? Shall we start a petition?
In the Walsh family, everyone has their secrets to hide. What are they trying to protect, and what will happen if the secrets come out? It soon becomes clear that family and friends may be in danger and each member of the family must do what they can to save themselves and others... A thrilling tale of family secrets that keeps you reading until the satisfying conclusion at the end. With several twists and turns and shocks, this book is very much recommended. I'm a big fan of Louise Jensen and while this wasn't my favourite book of hers, I still very much enjoyed it. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.
Thanks so much to Netgalley et all for this book. It was excellent. So much suspense, twists & turns in this book Each character is brilliantly written & the book will keep you guessing to the very last page

Jensen is the best Author.
Lucy, Aidan and Connor living a happy life or so it seems. Every family has cracks doesn't matter whether they're visible from the outside or not.
Everyone is hiding something. Something sinister that if it comes out then it will destroy everything.
They're doing this for whom and why?
Are they protecting someone from something? Or does each of them has a dark secret of their own?
Do read this book by Louise Jensen whose writing is different. I loved it.
Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for giving me an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
