This was the first time that I have read anything by Louise Jensen, it will not be the last.
The story bounces backwards and along the same timeline with the family of Lucy, Aidan, Connor and Kieron. There are lies, twists, misery, red herrings, secrets, tragedies and a cracking pace through this brilliant story. Seeing the story from the different viewpoints (adult spouses and a child regarding the relationship to each other) puts this intelligent psychological thriller way above the average. After I hit the half way point I could not put this down, superb. I guarantee the reveals are numerous and you will not be disappointed.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an impartial review.
Brilliantly written. For fans of Louise Candlish and Lisa Jewell, you will love this.
If you love twists and turns, secrets and lies then this book is for you because it’s bloody brilliant.
The book was compelling from start to finish and after being in a reading slump for some time really woke me up and made me appreciate just how much I love to read. Amazing.
would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this gripping book
secrets and lies...they can haunt a family
lucy, wife, mother
aiden father, husband
connor, oldest child
kieron youngest child, sick
they all have secrets and its killing them, breaking them apart, who will fall apart first and what consequences will it have on the rest of them
wow this one certainly keeps you on your toes...never expected what happened to happen...really well done and written
cant wait to see what else this author pulls out of the bag next
Now I know some folk don’t like these words but they are the only words to describe this book…so here goes
‘Full of twists and turns’ sorry if offends but there is no better way to describe this fast snappy thriller, they pop up and keep popping up right to the very end, some a real game changer, some easier to predict but all making a massive part of this read
And it’s good ( am having a good year so far with books ) it has everything you could want in a story really, a fast and furious start, great characters that you ‘see’ immediately, easy welcoming writing and as say T’s and T’s in abundance
The parts that deal with childhood rare illnesses are done so very well and informatively and the crux of the book will challenge any parent….will say no more on that
A great read that lovers like me of this genre will enjoy and feel satisfied with

This is an addictive page-turner if ever there was one! I was absolutely gripped from page one and read the whole book in a few breathless days as I simply couldn’t put it down. All the characters in this story feel that they’re the one in the wrong and are the reason the family is being targeted. So very many twists and turns, none of which I could see coming. I really thought I had the story sussed but I was so wrong!
What a fabulous book. I started reading this and actually thought the first half of the book was fairly slow but all of a sudden it got really interesting! This is obviously clever writing on the part of the author as she reels you in and builds her characters slowly. I thought, and I’m sure I’m not alone, I knew where this was going and who was the “taker”. However a massive curveball was then thrown and knocked me completely out of the park! The only reason it was four stars instead of five is that I nearly gave up in the first half but I am so so glad I didn’t!
I don’t enjoy giving a negative review but the positive reviews already posted for this book by the majority of readers will compensate in this instance.
The Connor family had so mush drama in their lives I could never have taken them seriously. The style of writing didn’t suit me either and reminded me of watching a tv programme that is aimed at US audiences with a short attention span.
There are twists a plenty but the whole thing just never rang remotely true or believable for me
Regretfully I did not enjoy this book at all. I am aware, however, that I am in the minority as most other NetGalley reviewers loved it but I have to be honest and say I found it ridiculous.
It’s a psychological thriller about the Walsh family whose younger son has a debilitating liver disease. The mother is a doctor, the father a vet, the older son a truculent teenager. All have their own secrets.
I don’t enjoy the staccato, abrupt (to me) style of writing - short sentences always told in the first person by all the different characters. That’s just my personal taste……..to me it doesn’t flow.
I found the plot too far-fetched. I do realise that often in whilst reading fiction we have to allow poetic licence in order to make a good story but frankly this just went way too far.
I didn’t really take to any of the characters except perhaps Aidan, the husband and father but it was more sympathy than anything.
I was tempted to give up about a third of the way through as I was forcing myself to read it. Then part two came along and it was at least a bit faster paced, so I stuck with it but sadly didn’t enjoy it any more than part one.
I don’t like giving harsh reviews but I received this book as an advanced e.reader copy with the expectation of the publishers and author of an honest review and that’s what this is.
3.5 stars
This is a good read.
Lucy, Aidan and their son Connor are all hiding something.
The family is struggling to communicate as each of them is trying to keep their secrets hidden.
It’s clear something happened last Summer and Connor blames himself.
Aidan is meeting a woman behind his wife’s back and can’t get away from her.
It’s not clear until later what Lucy is hiding, and I certainly wasn’t expecting it.
This is a good read but the flow of the story is a bit fragmented due to the way the chapters chop and change in perspective and timeline.
Thanks to HQ and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #HarperCollins for the advance copy of #AllForYou by #LouiseJensen
Superb thrilling scary story. Aiden and Lucy have been married for years and have the family they always wanted but everything is falling apart.
This book will keep you up late into the night because you have to know. You can’t sleep until you know
Riveting. Mind blowing. Scary.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a psychological thriller. This book will have you gasping, wondering and crying. The story is told from the perspective of three family members, Lucy, Aidan and Connor. With another sick son and two of Connor's friends going missing. Will Connor be next? The outcome was totally unexpected. Brilliant!!
A heart-breaking thriller with lots of twists. This suspenseful mystery centres on Lucy, Aiden and their sons, Kieron and Connor. Kieron is desperately ill and in need of a transplant. As a doctor, Lucy used to specialise in transplants. How far will she go to ensure her son gets what he needs? How do her husband and sons cope? Someone in a white car has been watching the family. Then two young friends of Connor go missing. This is a family where everyone has secrets and complications in their lives. A taut and compelling story told through multiple viewpoints. Keeps you on the edge of your seat!
This was a brilliant book, very twisty and full of red herrings which kept you wanting to read on until the end. I love Louise Jensen’s books and I think this was one of her best. The characters annoyed me a little but that added to the tension in the story. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book throughout, i liked the characters and the story until it got quite close to the end and then i found it very unrealistic- if the ending had been stronger i would have given it a 4*
Imagine that your youngest son has a debilitating illness, imagine that your eldest son has depression, imagine that your husband is emotionally unavailable, imagine that you are the only person holding things together, imagine that you start to crack under the strain...A well written tale with characters with emotional depth. This book is a proper page turner, a story that takes the reader in many and varied directions.
All for You is a domestic, psychological thriller that sadly didn't work for me. I found it difficult to connect with the plot or the characters and found it lacking in originality. Primarily, however I found the writing style quite jarring and abrupt. It felt that the author was constantly trying to create tension rather than reveal it through the plot. Not for me, but do read the many 4 and 5 star reviews as I appear to be in a minority !
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this digital ARC.
Louise Jensen is an author I haven't read before but I will definitely be seeking out more of her books. All For You is a superb masterclass in suspense, telling the story from the POV of different family members.
I won't repeat the blurb or the plot here but the characters are well rounded and believable. You may also change your view of several of them when you understand them for better or worse. There were some killer twists that I didn't see coming at all and by the end of the book I realised that many clues had been cleverly laid down without me second guessing the ending.
It loses a star because of one particularly grisly scene that I just couldn't get past. It left me with a lot of questions that I don't know who to ask in case of revealing a spoiler, so I'll just puzzle over it quietly. I don't know why the perpetrator did it.
All For You is billed as a psychological thriller and it certainly lives up to that. I read this book in a day as I found it hard to put down. It flows along at a good speed and has some great twists and turns that will keep you guessing. A great book that I can highly recommend. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance to review.
📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚
All For You By Louise Jensen
Publication Date - 20/1/22
So this is definitely a fast paced thriller with a lot going on. The story is told from the different character from the Walsh Family. Husband and wife Lucy and Aidan and brothers Connor & Kieran. Kieran suffers from kidney problems.
So you get a lot of information of how they feel because of something that directly effects them as individuals but it’s not till later in the book that you find out what these things are - hope that makes sense!!
I really don’t want to give too much away and spoil it, so I won’t go into the storyline too much - I hate spoilers lol!
Last few chapters - there was a lot going on in them..... “wait what?!” I said several times!! I was completely wrong how I thought this was going to end.
One thing that Lucy did to another character ....: I’m not sure it was necessary or for what purpose. Unless I’m missing the point ......

This was a great book. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but from page 1 I was gripped and I stayed that way, desperate to keep reading « one more page » I did not see the twists coming at all, though looking back à of the clue were there. A really thrilling read and I’ll definitely look for more by this author
