All For You is an intense psychological thriller that kept me gripped throughout. There were plenty of twists, turns and red herrings, which led to me having several suspects in mind throughout the book, until I reached the satisfyingly unexpected conclusion. There were a couple of times where I skimmed through pages that felt more like filler than necessary details, but that didn’t detract from my enjoyment and it was a definite page turner. 4.5*

Another great book by Louise Jensen. A twisted psychological thriller, well-written as always. A recommended read.
Louise Jensen is a good writer and this book is definitely one to add to the collection. I like the fact there is more to the story when you continue reading it. Enjoyed all the twists and turns!
A twist I did not see coming!!
#TheTaken
Tyler goes missing, Ryan goes missing and the prologue centres on Connor going missing, 3 school friends branded by the press as The Taken.
The prologue sets you up for the story ahead & is gripping, we then start the main story 13 days before the abduction…… The first half of the book was a struggle for me, I felt it slow as it built up to Connors abduction.
The focus in that first 40% was mainly on drip feeding what had happened in the summer between the boys and Hailey (Connors girlfriend) which ultimately starts to point towards why the boys are taken.
Once I was 40% in the story picked up, the pace quickened and couldn’t stop turning the pages!!! Twists and turns all over the place, you think you know what’s going on and why but I was so far from the reveal!!
Thank you to netgalley and HQ for an ARC of this book by Louise Jensen.
I could not stop reading this book. The story continually kept you guessing but slowly revealing crucial minutiae. It also brought out pressures of a struggling family who on the surface were functioning but underneath everything was crumbling.
I loved this book.
This is a popular thriller author, but the first one I have read of hers. I was not impressed. The author seems to be trying too hard to conceal what really happened by hinting at secrets, throwing in red herrings, changing the points of view and jumping backwards and forwards in time. There were a couple of gruesome parts, and bits of blood that I suppose made it a thriller but for me it was totally implausible and in fact, ludicrous.
I could not put this psychological thriller down! A family - all with secrets and complications which are gradually revealed as you read. A family struggling to function under huge pressures and cracking at the seams. The story is told primarily by Lucy, her husband Aidan and Connor, her eldest son and backtracks to the days and weeks before the present day.
I was kept interested as crucial details were gradually revealed. There were some good red herrings although the ending did seem a little far fetched to me. Suspend your belief and you can enjoy this thriller!
I love a good read and All For You is just that. Addictive, clever and suspenseful from the very beginning to the nail biting climax that I for one definitely hadn’t worked out.
The Walsh family, Mum Lucy, Dad Aidan and sons Connor and Kieron are all hiding secrets. The novel is told from their different view points so we get into the minds of the characters to hear how events unfolded for them.
All in all a fabulous psychological thriller that kept me gripped throughout, had some great characters and a well plotted storyline that as a parent will definitely make you think !!!
Loved it and would highly recommend.
Many thanks to Netgalley and HQ Stories for a copy for my honest review.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. Well written and with good character development, it was an engrossing read. Hard to put down with plenty of twists!
I really enjoyed this book, I read it in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down, the storyline had me hooked. Highly recommended.
Many thanks to netgalley and Louise Jensen fir the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.
"All for You" by Louise Jensen starts off fairly simple and the one mystery, who has kidnapped "The Taken". However as time goes on you realise the plot isn't so simple. Some twists I got, others surprised me. A good thriller-mystery.
Wow what a powerful story! How far would you go protect your family? All for you really pushes this question to the limits and throws in enough twists to really have you head spinning.
The story is told from multiple perspectives which builds the complexity and keeps you guessing on who is responsible for the 3 missing teenagers.
We know there are secrets a plenty but I did not guess the twist that was coming.
Such a powerful read. There is one scene where I had to look away as it was too awful to imagine.
The characters in this book are complex and really show how good people can be driven to bad things when user extreme pressure. My favourite character is Connor.
A brilliant read about love, family, friendship, loyalty, health and addiction.
All for you - Louise Jensen
The Walsh family - Everyone in this family is hiding a secret and who will pay the price? ALL of them eventually.
I thought I had it all worked out near the beginning but was so so wrong...
As the story unfolds I find myself almost in tears as Connor tries to come to terms with his guilt of what happened to his girlfriend (Hailey)
The guilt his Mum (Lucy) was bearing was so painful but the choices she made were not morally right and she was rightfully punished for that.
I was happy to read that Connor was a donor for his little brother Kieron and that Connor was able to help Hailey with her recovery. Some good came of an otherwise sad and emotional story.
Well written (apart from the odd grammar and spelling mistake mostly at the beginning but also some further into the book)
Applause to the writer for keeping my interest throughout. I would recommend
I hate to write a critical review because I usually really enjoy Louise Jensen's books but this one didn't live up to the standard I've come to expect from her. Much as I did with Steve Cavanagh's 'Twisted', I came away feeling that the author had tried to throw in as many plot swerves as possible and that the narrative suffered as a result.
The first half of the book is full of hints about secrets and obvious red herrings to the point where it becomes mildly irritating. It also lacks any real story progression. Once things start happening and the pace picks up, it draws you in successfully and becomes more the sort of thing you'd expect to get from Jensen. But then it all goes wrong again in the denouement, where it feels like everything the adult characters are doing or are revealed to have done in the past is far-fetched. I'm all for some willing suspension of disbelief, but there are limits.
This was compounded for me by the style this novel is written in not being to my taste. I don't mind split narratives, but when you have chapters that are only a few lines long before the perspective changes again, you have to think that there must have been a better way. There were also a lot of errors in tense and spelling; I appreciate this is an advanced copy and so not the final edited version, but some of these are things which I would have expected to have been picked up on the first proof-read and they did jar, which didn't help with immersing myself in the story.
There are elements to like here - Connor's character arc in particular is really well handled and satisfying for the reader and the mystery around the residential was suspenseful and intriguing. Overall though, for me, this isn't one of Jensen's best.
This is a fantastic psychological thriller and I was gripped from the very beginning. I love the writing style and was drawn in by the characters. Immediately we learn that Lucy's son Connor is in danger as his two friends have been taken are referred to in the news as 'The Taken'. Amazing twists and turns follow and I could never have guessed what was really going on. At first i wasn't sure whether I found the ending believe-able, but after reading the afterword from the author and thinking about it it made perfect sense. A book that makes you think is always good! Thanks for letting me read this to Netgalley and the publisher,
This was a first rate psychological thriller. It was a slowish start but built up to a faster pace fairly quickly. There were lots of red herrings and trying to decide who was responsible for events was almst impossible. Louise is a great author and the characters and situations that she creates are so realistic and easy to relate to as a reader. All the way through I kept wondering how far I would go to protect my children and what secrets everyone in the family were perhaps hiding. It is an intense read.

This one is a little hard to review; at the end the story is complete and closes with a satisfactory conclusion drawing all the elements nicely together. Throughout the book the characters are intriguing, mysterious and all have hidden agendas. The plot is slow to reveal its secrets and at times leads you a merry dance but it has many strings to it bow and on the whole keeps your interest. I enjoyed the multiple points of view used to tell the story and how the information needed for all the answers was held back long enough to keep you turning the page.
But…
I found a lot of the story irrelevant to the overall plot. Yes it was nice and interesting to read but in the end it all seemed a little pointless and unrelated to the main story the author was trying to tell. Also, once the action got going, everything became a little predictable. Just left me feeling a bit let down and confused.
Overall, it’s not a bad read just had parts I think got a bit confused or were used to fill out the book and in my opinion weren’t really needed.
Thanks to #Netgalley & #HQStories for allowing us to read this one early!
This one will be released on January 20th.

What an intriguing and compelling read. An excellent crime thriller and which had me gripped from the first to the last page. So many twists and turns , a bit slow in places but it did not stop me reading. I had my list of suspects which i was constantly changing and I still got it wrong. All in all a good mystery thriller.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.
This was my first time reading a Louise Jensen novel. It certainly won't be the last as I enjoyed the way she crafted this story and kept me wanting to turn the pages to discover who had done what and why.
While reading each chapter, many quite short and over 90 in total, many different characters got to tell their version of the events that occurred and this is what makes this novel so good to read because you are not lead by just one opinion or point of view; it is only by reading these different versions of how each sees what is happening that it becomes clearer to find out the who and the why.
Be prepared to be mislead by the use of very well disguised red herrings.
You will probably begin to wonder who did the kidnapping at a very early stage and you will certainly change your mind several times before reaching the last couple of chapters.
This story feels very personal even though I have never been in a similar set of circumstances, such is the quality of the writing. Whether you are a parent or not, it is easy to resonate with the different feelings that each character brings to this novel.
You may change your mind as the pages race through when you consider each perspective and whether you trust any or all of the characters. Some will perform a full 100% turn around while others may stay unlikable, but not necessarily the guilty party, or are they?
Many secrets are shared while some remain hidden until the last lines in this book. While I received a free copy of this story, it doesn't change my review and I look forward to reading more by this writer in the very near future as I explore her past novels.
A bit of a slow start but solid four star read. .
. Great premise. Well written. Good characters. Page turner. Plenty of suspense and I never guessed the ending. Would definitely read her next novel. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.
