Firstly, Thank you to Netgalley for letting me read this in exchange for an honest review

This was fun to read and a unique way of presenting a story that I've only seen in games before, never on paper.
Definitely kept me gripped, loved it

This is my first choose you're adventure book and it was a graphic novel. I did enjoy it. This is something a teen would love in my opinion so I will make sure to get it for my 13 year old sister. Thank you natgalley for providing me with an arc

Growing up I was a huge fan of choose your own adventure books. I will be honest - I never was one to pick up a graphic novel so I wasn't sure if this combination was for me. In the end I was glad that I picked this up. It was fun to read this and my teenage daughter, who really doesn't like to read, also read it to see if she could get a better outcome than I did. She ended up enjoying the book as much as I did.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this one . We were so excited to find a graphic novel version of a choose your own adventure. I still have a bunch of my old ones from when I was a kid and I read them with my 7 year old a lot. She absolutely loves graphic novels so having both in one was amazing. The story was a super fun one, we managed to get to a couple of different endings but there seems like way more to get through. That's the best thing about these types of books, so many options. Thanks again, really enjoyed this one.

This was great! I've read a few Choose Your Own Adventure books before, but I never thought that reading them in a comic/graphic novel style would make them even better — I'm glad someone thought of it!

I reread this story many times, each time changing decisions I made in my previous runs. It felt like a new story every time. Some leading to spooky endings, mysterious endings, or just normal endings.

What makes this book so great though, is it feels super immersive. Since most of the panels are drawn in a way that makes you feel like you are the main character. I loved this the most out of the book, and I never knew I needed this when reading a Choose Your Own Adventure.

Overall, I really loved the story and artwork. It's definitely a book that you can reread and each time you sit down to read the story it will never feel stale. I can't wait to read more books with this set up.

Thank you to NetGalley and Oni Press for the ARC.

The concept of this book is a really fun and interactive that allows for the reader to follow the path that interests them most. I enjoyed the fact it is a graphic novel. This is my first choose your own adventure book it was a reading experience I haven't had before which was fun. I think I must have got one of the shorter outcomes that left me slightly confused, so I'll definitely be returning to go down different paths so see what happens.

This book is definitely something I'd be recommending to younger people or adults who want a different read.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me early access to read this. I really enjoyed it.

Review to come August 18th to blog and later in September on Goodreads.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I am so sorry, but this book just wasn't for me. Or well, the premise sounded good, there were some good things in there, but often the choices and the route they took were just odd and felt really off. At times I was confused as what the hell happened? Like when the girl goes back after that meeting and find her house dilapidated but we don't know why. Or the security guard who suddenly goes in the basement and then comes out half-dead???

I tried reading this book, I tried doing other routes, but I am still so utterly confused. I am still not even sure what happened 80% of the time. I did get that the main thing was the house and the witches, and Astrid being highly sus. But other than that... nope. It just didn't work out for me.

Which just made me sad as I really really love these kind books. I love Choose Your Own Adventure books. Read plenty of them. Love making maps with routes. I love it when they are spooky and scary and creepy and OMG, what will happen next. I love that this one is a graphic novel, most of the Choose Your Own Adventure books I read were normal novels. But this one needs some serious work. Better routes. Showing clearly why x happened because often it just made zero sense when you went into a route. Less convenient things (like the phone not having a lock or anything). A better understanding what the main route is.

The art though, I quite liked that one. So I am giving the book half a star more.

I've never read a "Choose Your Own Adventure" before, so reading this was an experience and not one I'm too sure about.

The concept grabbed my interest, as well as the subject. I love stories about magic.

Over the course of approximately 3 days reading this, picking different paths and attempting to immerse myself in all of the possible endings.

Some of them I enjoyed a lot! A few are very quick and disappointing. Then, very surprisingly quite a few of them were very dark and even gory. Not something I was expecting for a book targeted at "teens".

Overall I think the idea is good, but how it translates into an ARC ebook wasn't great.
This has a lot of potential. I feel a physical copy of the book or an ebook with shortcut tabs (is possible) would make this so amazing!

I literally screamed when I saw a Choose Your Own Adventure GRAPHIC NOVEL. You do not understand. I scoured yard sales, flea markets, thrift stores, and my local library for every Choose Your Own Adventure book I could find. I even read the Goosebumps version and that other spooky kid series (Shiver? Shivers?). All. Of. Them. It's been years since I've picked up one and I'm so happy a new generation will get to experience these type of stories in a new way. Unfortunately, I can't fully review the actual plot because I can't get the book to work properly on any of my e-reader apps. But it's fine. I guarantee I'll be checking out the physical copy when it releases. I hope many more stories will follow. I will update my review at that time. Hurry up, August. *tapping my watch gif*

When I was younger there was nothing I loved more than a good Choose Your Own Adventure book.  When I saw there was a new one about a witch at that, I had to check it out!   I ended up reading through 3 scenarios, which all ended up pretty short.  I'm not sure if they were all that short of if I just made really poor choices.  I ended up skimming the rest of the book to see how some of the other choices ended up and it is a pretty creepy story and I'm surprised I didn't end up with nightmares due to some of the scenarios lol (ghosts, witches, spiders, cemeteries, etc.)  I also wasn't sure how digitally doing a choose your own adventure book would work, but as long as you knew that the page numbers and the page in the PDF document were off by a few, it wasn't too difficult to navigate where you needed to be and you didn't need to scroll through a bunch of pages (but I do miss the feeling of flipping through the book back and forth to get where you needed to be!)  I'm definitely looking forward to hopefully finding some more Choose Your Own Adventure stories in the future because there are just so may options and ways to read the story!

I received a free e-copy of this book from NetGalley in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.

I love this concept! It combines two cool formats into one. First, you have a choose your own adventure which is awesome. Second, graphic novels. This was a fun story that will certainly appeal to kids. The art was wonderful as well!

This is not a book, it's an experience. It's like a game, you make some decisions and this will decide what ending you should get. The main idea is that you’re the son of two ghost hunters and is now moving to your new house. I can’t say much because the book is basically the experience.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read a book like this, I would surely recommend this for my friends, I really liked a lot of the idea (and also liked the endings)!

Id like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me early access to this unique graphic novel.
I thought it really great concept and loved the idea. I loved the artwork, it had such a unique concept and creepy artwork which added to the story.
I reread it multiple times to try a variety of stories and outcomes. I felt like with some of the outcomes there was no explanation as to why that was happening or anything, it was random.

I didnt like how simple it was, or how short some of the outcomes were. I'd have rather less outcomes with each of the being longer to have more story.

I enjoyed the concept but felt like it was missing something and some of the stories were lackluster.

This is a fun book that I think middle grade readers would really enjoy. The graphic novel adds a new aspect to choose your own adventure. The only downside is that you see spoilers for other adventures that you haven't gotten to yet as you flip through. Some of the endings also feel very abrupt and don't resolve the storyline as much as I'd like them to. Overall, a fun read that I could see using in a classroom as part of a unit around Halloween.

4/5 stars

Thanks to Netgalley for providing this e-arc!

It was a fun quick, yet slow, read! A bit confusing with going back and forth but was nice enough to be enjoyable

This was a fun graphic novel version of the choose your own adventure stories I loved when I was a kid. I did have to really work to keep track of the choices I made as I seemed to have a very hard time getting to all of the different endings which is why I gave it 3 stars.

I love the Choose your own adventure books, so I enyoyed this graphic novel a lot.
It was a quick read -even though I read every single page of it and reached all the endings- and I loved the art. The dialogues are simple but consistent, making it easier for younger readers to understand. The developement of the plot is quite good, although there are some plot holes that are left unexplained.
So, to summarize, this graphic novel was an enyoyable reading, and I recommend It especially to Choose your own adventure's fans.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!!!

DNF

Slow paced, did not enjoy it much, had no motivation to read further. The graphics weren't that great.

Firstly, I have to say that reading the Choose Your Own Adventure story digitally is much more difficult without having the book to more easily skip to the correct pages, which made reading this a bit frustrating. But, it is also special to be reading a graphic novel Choose Your Own Adventure, which I had never heard about, and reading it in second person felt very natural, I really enjoyed the general premise of the young girl moving into a supposedly haunted house. This had magic, ghosts, monsters, bullies, witches, and family heritage through various different possible story lines. As a fantasy lover I was there for all the magic and mayhem that came along with it. I did feel a few plot lines ended very abruptly and scenarios happened without much transition/came out of no where, which could also be because of the style of the story. Overall, this is a great middle grade read that would definitely catch the interest of younger readers who like a bit of scare and gruesome situations following a young, brave girl trying to unravel a mystery.

This was such a fun read! I’ve never read a “choose your own adventure “ type of novel so this was definitely unique. I loved the illustrations and the style of it. It definitely made. me want to read more books like this one! I definitely wish it were longer. Just long enough for me to be able to really connect with the characters. But I guess for the kind of book it is, it needed to be short and sweet. Either way I really enjoyed the story and the different ways that it could go!
