I didn't expect that ending! No spoilers, I promise, but I really didn't expect the one specific person of being a wrongun! Highly recommended, can't wait to get my hands on the next one!

The story of multiple individuals who have found themselves on the wrong side of the law. "You’ve got to fight for everything when you start with nothing".
Picture the roots of a plant heading in all different directions - That's how many storylines this book has, all interconnected in one way or another!
I love the characters in Tracks. I feel like they were easily distinguishable and you could feel the emotion running through them, for example, Tina's desperation and pent-up frustration at the scenario presented to her.
This is the second book I have read by Karen Woods and I can now officially call myself a fan! Very much looking forward to her next release.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperNorth for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review 📖
So, now it's official.... I'm a fan of Karen Woods. I'll be looking for more but hopefully will see a follow up to this one.
The ending got me. I did not see that coming.
It's based in Manchester UK. it's gripping and definitely a page turner. I could not put it down. I took it everywhere.
Yes, I would recommend this book. But be aware it should come with a warning because you just can not put it down. All you want to do is turn the page. Excellent read.
Enjoy!
Karen Woods has really delivered with this book! And the ending is not what you would expect. I certainly didn't see it coming!!! I was gripped and couldn't put this book down.
Susan Knight has a good life. So she turns a blind eye to the gambling winnings her husband Donny puts through the books at her salon. After all, he needs some way to unwind. At work, he is headteacher at Second Chance, an alternative provision school for kids who have nowhere else to go.
Being the headteacher gives Donny respect, money, and charm. But respect can be lost, money can be stolen and charm can only go so far.
Wow! Karen Woods has delivered a gripping read full of grit and with characters to keep you turning the pages. And that ending! I didn't see that coming at all loved it read the book in 2 days.
I loved this latest book called Tracks by Karen Woods and it's based in the backstreets of Manchester and comes with a new pulse-pounding gangland saga especially when you’ve got to fight for everything when you start with nothing. WoW it was brilliant!
If you love gangland books and fans of Kimberly Chambers, Emma Tallon Jessie Keane Books this a book for you.
Second Chance school is for children who can't be taught in mainstream schools due to issues and behaviour. Many of the pupils need guidance and they certainly get it there don't they? However, the teachers and staff have a few issues of their own too and stories to tell. A good read however, I worked our who the 'main man' was about 70% in
I loved this book it was so easy to get into but kept me on the edge of my seat throughout whilst watching how Ged's life would progress.
Donny Knight is the head of the school called "Second chance" it is for troubled children that have fallen out of the mainstream.
He is a very confident attractive man whom all of the children respect and who thinks anything is possible. Married to Susan he was caught having an affair for which he is now regretful He would give her the world if he could to win back her trust.
One of the students is Ged he lives with his mum and is a bit of a loner who just wants his dad out of prison, so they can become a family again, but his mum has had enough and doesn't want him anywhere near their lives.
Frankie another student who is cocksure takes Ged under his wing but soon turns him into drug peddling.
Nancy is a prolific runaway and she and Ged form a friendship/relationship, she doesn't like Frankie and watches him like a hawk when he is around Ged.
Tina one of the teachers so badly wants a baby but it isn't happening, on top of that her partner has saddled her with his children who are a nightmare.
Such a great book, and a good story. A surprise at the end making it a worthwhile book to read.
Well done Karen. xx
Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read and review this book. xx
I have read a few of Karen's books over the years and enjoy her stories very much. Amazing to think that Karen only started writing books at the age of 40.
Tracks is a gripping read, which draws you in from the first few pages. Great characters and a few surprises at the end for good measure. If you are a fan of Kimberley Chambers or Jacqui Rose then you will like this book. Highly recommended read.
Thank you to Netgalley, HarperNorth and the author for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
It didn’t take me long to get to race through the book. I found this to be a superb read, which kept me guessing and which kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Very good novelist. Exciting, engrossing, page turner.

First time reading this author who has now become a firm favourite. This was a fantastic book delving into the criminal underworld in just the right way, Entertaining, funny, sad, with many twists to keep you guessing. This was a book read in one sitting characters needed up being like an old friend.
Will be looking out for more titles from this author
Highly recommended
For me, the first chapter, indeed, the first few pages of a book are hugely important and if I find that they do not pull me into the story, then I am afraid that I often leave it to one side.
Sadly ‘Tracks’ was one of those books and it remains unfinished and most probably will not be re-opened.
Over the years I’ve read lots of Karen’s books. I even went to watch the drama of Broken youth and know that the work Karen has put in to her writing over the years is proof that following your dreams can work.
This book felt good to read.
I still have Broken Youth and Black tears up there as my favs.
A good read that I wasn’t sure how it going to end. It certainly threw a few surprises in. I never dreamt the outcome.
A few things I’d have like to see even more if but overall a decent read.
Easy and quick to read.
Wow Karen what can I say another brilliant book. Your books are just getting better everytime. Gangland at its best definitely up there with Kimberley Chambers, Martin Cole
I personally loved it, I love anything gangland.
If you're a fan of Kimberley Chambers, Casey Kelleher then this book is right up your street.
Perfectly written and it had me hooked, great storyline Donny thinks he us untouchable.
I can't wait to read more books by Karen.
