ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS by LINDSEY KELK.

Fran loves London, but when Stew, her fiancé and boyfriend of 12 years inherits a house in Shefield, she ups sticks and joins him to live there.
As Christmas is looming, Fran finds herself looking for a job.
With encouragement from her friend Jess, Fran manages to land herself a very temporary but exciting job as PA to famous singing artist, Juliette, but how will Stew feel about it?

Fran’s job is to get Juliette to the Crystal Ball on the island of Panarea, where she is due to perform.
Of course things don’t go to plan, and Fran finds herself on a rollercoaster ride of new experiences and self discovery that will change her life for good.

Fran is a real Cinderella character. Hard working and put upon, then thrown into a world of glitz and glamour, where she begins to find her true self.

This is such a lovely, light and easy read. Uplifting and feel good.
A perfect read for the run up to Christmas.
Five joyful stars from me.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book (would it be a run of the mill “girl meets boy” story or something a bit more) I really enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised to find myself laughing out loud at some parts too - and I mean that in a good way!

The plot follows Fran who is an out of work assistant in an unhappy relationship. She takes the opportunity of a mystery job helping a mystery celebrity and it ends up completely changing her life. It still does have a “girl meets boy” aspect but it’s also about how Fran finds herself and works out what she wants. I know that might seem cheesy but the parts of the story about Fran always doing things to please others resonated with me and I think everyone needs a reminder sometimes that we only have one shot at life and sometimes we have to do things for ourselves.

The other thing I loved about this book is how funny it is. Even with similar books that I have enjoyed, I have rarely found myself laughing out loud at them but reading this one, I did it several times. The author really has a knack for relatable comedy. And while it’s not a Christmas themed book by any stretch, it does end up on Christmas Day and that is another plus point for me!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

I am a fairly new reader of Lindsay Kelk, and I was offered an early preview copy of this book from Netgalley and the Publisher.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it is fun and glamorous with some fantastic locations and settings. It is not a book that I would have normally chosen to read, but it is entertaining and I am glad that I read it.

On A Night Like This... what to say without spoiling any part of it.

A job opportunity for Fran, of which the exact nature of the job was not as she'd first expected. With various challenges along the way within both her personal life and new temporary position, does not always run smoothly. Fran goes through her ups and downs and with this takes a close look at her life and what she wants from it.

From the first page to the end, a definite should read. A pinch of Cinderella, Romance and Humour rolled into one.... Loved it, did not want it to end!

I absolutely LOVED this book! Within the first couple of pages I was laughing my head off and totally gripped. The character of Cleo is so beautifully written. I was rooting for her from the get go. Salvation is described in exquisite detail – it made me want to get on a wonky ferry and head west to the isles scattered off the coast of Ireland. The relationship between Cleo & Mack was thrilling to read and the characters both on Slanú and in London & USA were all believable and so well written. Absolutely gorgeous book, I loved it!!!

I loved this book!  Fran is a lovely, highly likeable and funny protagonist who decides to take a chance and create her destiny. During this temporary job (which lasts only five days) she gains insight into the choices she’s made and what she truly wants out of life.

I enjoyed the setting on a yacht and the island of Panarea.  The author writes as though the reader is seeing through the eyes of Fran.  There is plenty of opulence, a bit of snobbery, and lots of laughter. The antics that Fran gets herself into during these five days had me laughing out loud and shaking my head.  This story is Lindsey Kelk at her best.

The night of the Crystal Ball is enchanting and reminiscent of Cinderella.  The romance that develops is simply magical and a perfect escape.  Fran is transformed into a “princess” for the night and pulls this off with her personal touch (including a very funny scene).

The story is one of letting go of the things that hold us back and taking chances. It is a sweet, charming and memorable read and one I recommend highly.  If you’re looking for a 5 star read to escape into, you won’t regret reading On A Night Like This.

This is one book that I was so privileged to be given the chance to review. I've been such a fan of Lindsey's for so long. I love her humour and her characters are so relatable. Fran was no different. This really was a modern day fairytale. The book is so full of humour, warmth, and unbelievably romantic. A book about finding yourself and naturally having the friends there to stand by you. 4.5 from me.

Wow, what a wonderful story! It had been a while since a book had left me with such a warm and glowing feeling. I had such a blast reading On a Night Like This that I have just finished it and I am dying to start reading it again.

Lindsey Kelk is definitely one of my top three authors and with this book she has surpassed all my expectations. It has all the elements of a Lindsey book: super fun, relatable main character that you would love to have as a friend, a bit of magic and serendipity and the most romantic scenes. But there is something else that makes this one an exceptional read. I think it just has a feeling of magical night/fairy-tale that could happen to anyone and it really takes you to a completely different world (the one of the filthy rich) for a night.

Fran is a sensational main character and I loved following her adventures as she kind of discovered herself again. The secondary characters were also great supporting her in her journey, especially the cameo from a previous beloved character (now I need to re-read that book too, but I LOVED catching up with her!).

If you are looking for a modern fairy-tale with a stunning setting, amazing characters and a few twists that will keep you wondering... then this is the exact book you are looking for! Here I am left rereading it, hoping for Netflix to do an adaptation asap.

'On a night like this' is a great light hearted read to pass the time, it provides everything you might need in a romcom. I gained a complementary copy of this through netgalley, I haven't read any of the other novels written by Lindsey Kelk but I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Fran Cooper finds herself stuck in a written and wishing that her life was different when she becomes thrust into the role of working as the personal assistant of a celebrity upon a luxury yacht on route to a private party for the rich and famous, the Crystal Ball. Fran eventually gate crashes the crystal ball where she meets Evan and they enjoy an unforgettable night.

This love story provides moments of humour through out the novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but found myself wanting more at the end.

A cinderella tale with heart & humour.

This was a great read to get lost in, complete escapism. The friendships between the characters were wonderful, humourous & entertaining. Fran was a great character, lovely, relatable & someone you want to get her happy ending. Also, where can I get a ticket for The Crystal Ball, gorgeous Evan included please 😉

My first Lindsey Kelk has left me wanting more soon.

On a Night Like This is a fun, glamorous romantic story. It is not the type of book that I would normally read but after seeing all the glowing reviews I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did as I really enjoyed it - it is pure escapism and I highly recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for my ARC.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Another great book from Lindsey.

Fran Cooper works as a temp, she lives with her fiancé Stew in a house inherited from his Nan. She is offered a temporary PA job for a secret top celebrity. She discovers that the celebrity is famous singer Juliette. She is swept off her feet overnight into a life of luxury and highlife. Her main job is to get Juliette to the Crystal Ball a charity event for the rich and famous. She thinks she will be backstage whilst Juliette is in the limelight. Little does she know things take an unexpected turn and she will be wearing the most beautiful dress ever seen and gave the best unforgettable night of her life.

I was really unsure about this book when I began, I wasn't sure if I was going to get on with the main character and the writing style throughout this book however I quickly found myself sucked into this story and found that I was flying through this one. I loved the fairy tale feeling of the romance and found the setting of a charity ball for the rich almost magical, a dream like place that I would love to visit. I loved the almost Cinderella nature of the story and found that the almost familiar nature of the plot was comforting and made for the perfect book to help you get into the Christmas mood, not to mention a very intriguing romantic love interest. I would love to read more romance novels from Lindsey Kelk in the future. I had a great time reading this and felt that overall it was a lot of fun.
4 out of 5 stars.

An enjoyable read
A Yorkshire lass unexpectedly ends up living the high life for a couple of days, when her new temp job turns out to be babysitting a celebrity. Never a dull moment with lots of ups and downs in the portrayed relationships. HFN ending.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Just finished reading this book. So hard to put down. When Fran is offered a temporary job as an assistant to a celebrity she takes it, even though her long time fiance will be cross. She does it for herself, to feel excited about work again. It doesn't work out as expected and when the opportunity present itself to attend a mega social event she can't pass up the chance. There she meets a tall dark very handsome stranger, Evan. They have a few ups and downs in the evening but generally have a wonderful time together. The next morning reality hits. Fran returns home and starts to sort her professional and personal lives out. However she cannot forget the bewitching man she met that night.
I loved this book, such a great story well told. Lots of laughs and cringing but so hard to put down.

Thanks to Lindsey Kelk, Harper Collins UK and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

I was in a bit of a reading rut when I first picked this up, and stopped briefly (well, for a month or two - thanks new job 🙈) until today, when I jumped back into it and completely devoured the rest of it in a few hours.

Lindsey has done it again - such a beautifully written novel with a great storyline and characters you can absolutely fall in love with. I loved every minute of it once I dived back in!

What a fabulous book. Such a joy to read, it felt like I was watching a film/tv show and that allowed me to inhale the book. If I didn’t have plans I would have easily read this in one day.
It made me laugh out loud and had some cracking quotes most of which I enjoyed so much I kept reading but this last one made me giggle ‘The curtains blew into the room, slapping at me like a drunk girl being forced into an Uber.’

Really recommend this and huge thanks to Netgalley for approving me to read this!

This book had me from hooked the start, and I knew by the first chapter I was going to love this book.

The story follows Fran, who has no job and stuck in love lost relationship. Who takes a once in the life time opportunity job and that’s where the drama unfolds.

There is some laugh out loud moments, and some that have you cringing for Fran.

The story is good, and you get lost in a world of glitz and glammed you could only every dream of.

This was actually my first Lindsey Kelk book, but I will definitely look into her previous books
