Laugh-out-loud perfect winter night read; curl up, snuggle down, and escape through the pen of Lindsey Kelk.
Realistic and relatable characters and relationships; dialogue that makes you feel you're there, fly-on-the-wall. Fairytales are predictable - so what? That's not going to detract from a great read.
In many ways, this reminded me of Kinsella's Shopaholic series, brought up to date, but better! Buy this to read over the festive period.
With thanks to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Lindsey Kelk just never fails to delight me! This book just had it all for me:
1. A main character that I instantly took to - not perfect - just an ordinary girl leading a pretty ordinary life wondering if she’s ‘settling’ for less than she could achieve in many aspects of her life, with a degree of impulsiveness that I could identify with.
2. A beautiful setting - Panarea - I had to look it up, wasn’t sure if it was real or not! (It its!)
3. Equal amounts of reality and romantic fairy tale.
4. Some insightful comments that struck a note with me and were definitely worth highlighting and remembering!
5. A hot leading man, okay, my only complaint here - he was unbelievably perfect in every way!
6. Humour - I genuinely laughed out loud on many occasions!
7. Enough escapism and ‘feel good’ factor to keep me page turning way later than I planned!
An easy, peasy five stars!! And a perfect read for holidays………..nah scrap that………a perfect read for any time of the year!
My thanks go to Lindsey first and foremost for her amazing writing, her publishers, and to NetGalley for an advanced e.copy of this book, however, this review is 100% my honest, opinion.

Lindsey Kelk never fails to deliver! She is an auto-buy author for me and this book just cemented why!
Fran gets a last minute job as an assistant to a A list celebrity which takes her on to a luxury yacht in the Med and to one of the most coveted events of the year, The Crystal Ball.
Romantic, feel good and funny.
Perfect escapism and a story that I didn't want to end. Pick it up!

I love Lindsey Kelk books. I raced through this book. It’s funny, fast paced, romantic with a strong female lead. Enjoyed the characters self deprecating wit! Good fun with a dreamy American to top it off.
Thanks to NetGalley for the preview.

I don’t think that I have ever laughed so much while reading a book until now. Fran Cooper doesn’t know her own worth and unfortunately, neither does her fiancé of the last twelve years. Stew has Fran’s life planned out. They have already left her beloved London for life in Sheffield after he inherited his gran’s house. There are rules, no more jobs that take them away from home, something as a PA used to happen for Fran. It has left Fran jobless in the lead up to Christmas until her agent offers her the opportunity of just a week’s work, which will involve travelling. It does have its clauses of non-disclosure of whom the person is that Fran would be working for. When Stew won’t give her the time to tell him about this opportunity and dismisses her, Fran has to make a choice.
Oh wow! I loved every single page in this book. I was whisked away with Fran with eyes wide open, into a world of glamour and fairy tale dreams that do come true. Fran, of course, got the job, which was to care for a top-billed solo artist, whose hit recordings lived at the top of the charts. Fran had to accompany the artist to Italy and an exclusive one night only charity performance that would only be attended by the elite, followed by an out of this world auction. No, literally a space trip was one of the items to bid on!
I continually laughed from the time Fran set foot on the Yacht that was more like a luxury hotel, to the end of the book. But even the rich have baggage, and her charge was no exception. But oh, what a merry dance they played. It was the closest I have ever come to consider Tena lady, as I laughed so much. I think that I had an overflow because my eyes couldn’t cope with any more.
Fran is like the modern-day Cinderella, that will go to the ball, even if she has to gate crash the event. She has nothing to lose now, as her days as a P A seem like it won’t ever be an option again. What a night it is. This story has everything you could ever wish for in a fairy tale. So bring your popcorn, settle down and enjoy a night of blissful entertainment. I could happily read this book in the lead up to Christmas every year, even knowing how it all ends up. It is what dreams are made of!
I wish to thank the publisher and Net Galley for an e-copy of this book, which I have reviewed honestly.

5 Stars does not give this beautiful funny romantic story justice!
I loved it and highly recommend to anyone who loves a real feel good read.
The story follows Fran who has been with her unattentive fiance since school, who live together in his inherited house in Sheffield. She gave up her high executive city career, as working away caused problems for their relationship (trying so hard not to give spoilers!).
Fran misses the career she loved and calls the agency, who straight away know of a placement she would be ideal for. The interview the next day takes her in to London, where she has to sign a NDA as the client is a high profile celebrity. Interview success means starting the one week's work that same day.
Fran is whisked off and enters a world she could only dream of.. but things don't go to plan and the events of the next few days, together with the people she meets, will change her life forever.
Read it and enjoy!
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy in return of an unbiased review

Definitely a great read for Christmas- just a pity the book had to end! It was really a first class novel about Fran resetting her life- work and romance, as she had previously always gone along with what others thought she should do etc. She finds her true love in the most unexpected place after agreeing to be an assistant to a famous singer. Great atmosphere and journeys.

This is the most Lindsey Kelk book to ever Lindsey Kelk. And I mean that as a huge compliment. I loved this book. I loved the coming of self and self discovery. I loved the characters and themes of friendship, family, choosing yourself and… food.
I don’t know Lindsey personally but this one felt like she put a lot of herself in it, and it’s all the better for it.

Such a perfect read!
Light - hearted and humorous but with the right touch of poignant. The characters were absolutely brilliant and their one - liners made me laugh out loud. I fell in love with Evan myself, mmmm. It was a kind of modern Cinderella going to the ball and meeting her prince but, as life is not a fairy - tale, there are some obstacles on the way, and Fran herself is the biggest obstacle for herself. I loved Fran - she was friendly, loyal and loved her job, but some time she has lost her happiness, her own self and the author took her by the hand and take her through the ups and downs of her life - with tons of humour and embarrassing situations, just what we can expect from Lindsey Kelk.
I loved the glamour in this story, but even more I loved the sarcastic and common sense-y approach to the whole celebrity things. Juliette was demanding and spoiled, that's true, but there was also the human side to her. Those were some of the other characters that we meet at the ball that made me roll my eyes at them and their ways.
It is a lovely, uplifting and light - hearted story about self - growth, second chances and also friendship, a perfect escapism and a modern fairy - tale that is absolutely not overdone. I loved it, Lindsey Kelk didn't disappoint.

Oh my goodness this is an absolute hug in a book! Perfect for snuggling down, the story is light, the characters likeable and it hooks you right from the start. Fran Cooper is stuck in a rut and we follow her as she discovers what she really needs in her life. The friendships described are so heartwarming and it definitely has a hint or two of Disney romance and happy endings. I finished it in one sitting and am immediately off to find more books by Lindsey Kelk!
Thanks so much for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Wow what a book! I could not put this down.
Fran lives in Sheffield with her fiancé Stew and does temp work. They used to live in London and they both had careers, but circumstances took over. Well that's the version she will tell you. She also promised three years ago that she wouldn't travel for work again.
When her current temp job has finished and because of the time of year there is little work around, she phones one of the executive agencies that she is registered with. This leads to an interview with loads of possibilities. Most of which involve upsetting the apple cart at home.
Fran finds herself transported to aboard a yacht heading towards Panarea for the biggest charity ball of the year. The downside is that she is PA to a celebrity and no PA has lasted more than a couple of days.
During the trip Fran discovers various things including a side to herself that she hasn't thought about for a long time. When they arrive in Panarea things go awry and she has to think on her feet. The decisions she makes could change her life forever.
I loved this book and was team Fran all the way!

Completely brilliant! Laugh out loud fabulous latest from Lindsey Kelk.
Francesca Cooper lives in Sheffield with fiancé Stewart, when she grabs at a chance of a temping job in London before Christmas, not knowing who she will be working for, and what the job will bring.
Although experienced as a Personal Assistant, working for a celebrity is totally different and takes Fran out of her comfort zone.
Absolutely hilarious, brilliantly written, modern, with reality thrown into escapism!
Loved it, highly recommended!
Thank you to NetGalley for the early read!

As a huge fan of Lindsey Kelk, I knew that this book was going to be a must-read and I was over the moon when I was accepted to review it.
This book offered the perfect amount of escapism and was a light and easy read from start to finish. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments, as well as several valuable life lessons thrown in along the way.
I absolutely loved Fran’s character - she maintained a decent amount of realism and maturity throughout the various (often extravagant) predicaments she finds herself in, which I find rare in a main character of a chick lit novel.
Lindsey Kelk has delivered once again - add this to your TBR pile, you won’t be disappointed!
*Thank you to Harper Collins and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. *

When Francesca takes a job with minimal details except the knowledge it’s as an assistant to someone high profile and she must start immediately, she’s excited and little unsure. She knows she’s good at what she does but with an NDA in place and a lot of rules she’s unsure how this job will go.
When she first meets her new boss things seem to get off to a great start but as the next few days go on, lines between employee/friend are blurred and when Fran finds herself stranded in Italy and once again unemployed what else can she do but say screw it all and go to the prestigious Crystal ball. Never mind that she doesn’t have a ticket, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, who knows what will happen?
Firstly I’m a big fan of this authors work and have read lots of her books so when I saw it, I was eager to read this book. As always with Lindsey Kelks books I was pulled into the storyline from the get go. I love how it takes you on a journey with the character and there were so many moments I found myself smiling while reading, that warm feeling creeping inside. I enjoy Lindsey’s way with words and how the characters are believable, I could hear the Yorkshire accents clearly in my head. An absolutely fantastic read.

I loved Francesca and Evans story so much that I felt a little bit sad when I came to the end. Lindsay`s writing is so believable you actually think the characters are real. This is a sit down over the weekend book doing nothing but drinking tea, eating chocolate and dreaming your Fran`s best friend as you turn every page. Fingers crossed there will be a sequel.😻

A perfect romance. Fran has been a temporary PA to many people before, but none quite so glamorous as singing megastar Juliette. Through her, she gets to go to the prestigious Crystal Ball, where she meets the man of her dreams, Evan. But boyfriend Stew awaits her at home. Great fun, with lots of amusing touches and characters you'd love to meet.

Saved this to read on my holiday. Was a perfect book for around the pool. Lovely storyline with a lot of laughs. Really enjoyed it.

An absolute superb romantic comedy with Christmas thrown in too!
Fran is a modern day Cinderella. She has a mundane life with her horrid boyfriend Stew but then all changes when she lands a job as a PA to a celebrity and ends up working from a yacht in the Mediterranean heading to Italy where the famous Crystal Ball will be held. It’s not all plain sailing though, lots of mishaps along the way but she bumps into a very handsome American call Evan…
Such a fun read with plenty of humour, credible characters and a pacy storyline.
This is the first Lindsey Kelk bought I’ve read and I can see she has plenty of other novels which I will now go on to read. I thoroughly recommend this book and would like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC.
It was an absolute pleasure.

What a cracking book. Just loved it.
I've never read any Lindsey Kelk before and the best thing about that is the back catalogue I can now pounce on.
The characters and relationships are credible and relatable. Brilliant dialogue, just like being out with a good mate.
The story is a lovely bit of escapism, perfect for grey winter months.
Highly recommend.

First of all - what DOES an intelligent, interesting woman like Fran see in the awful Stew? It didn’t ring true at the start, it became clearer later on.
A fantastic Cinderella of a fairy tale, with Fran being her own fairy godmother. Swooningly romantic, but funny too!
