Lindsey Kelk is back to her best! I have read all of her books and this was one of my favourites.
This was an escapist book that took me on an emotional rollercoaster. I was rooting for the heroine all the way through as she faced crazy challenges that took us very imaginative settings, such as an exclusive fantasy ball for the super-rich.
This was the feel good book I was looking for! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

What a wonderfully sweet, romantic book. This is not my usually thing as I don't go for books that are too saccharine but for some reason this hit the spot for me. It is a short book and I was able to read it in a single sitting because it is also so engrossing, I just wanted to know what was going to happen next. This book also gave me many chuckles along the way and real life female friends are like that...well mine are. I loved being in Italy with these characters and I felt like I was in on the adventure with them...I loved this CInderella type story with the focus on friendship just as much as the romance.

This is a fun, lighthearted Cinderella-style romance. Fran is stuck in a rut in her current relationship and is unsure about training to become a teacher when she takes a temporary PA job. The job is unlike any she’s ever had before and lands Fran on a luxury yacht working for a famous pop star. Fran takes the opportunity to attend the Crystal Ball where she meets Evan….
I really enjoyed the plot and thought the characters were well developed. Lots of laugh out loud and heartwarming moments. I would have liked to have had more of an ending for Juliette as she was such a big part of the first half of the story. Definitely recommend as a great book to curl up with on a winter’s afternoon.

This is the perfect holiday season read; as far as romcoms go, this really is the best of the best. Absolutely loved it. Five Sparkling, shinning, twinkling, magical Stars.

Francesca is stuck in a stale relationship with Stew. Her whole life changed when she accepts a job as an assistant to a very famous singer, gets left behind in Rome, goes to a ball and meets the wonderful Evan. I couldn't stop laughing during this book. Lindsey Kell books always make me giggle but this one is absolutely hilarious. A must read especially if you are a Kell fan.

Goodness what a dream of a book On A Night Like This Is. It is one of those rare books where you absolutely cannot put it down and are desperate to keep reading it and yet at the same time cannot bare for it to end. Lindsey Kelk has written just the most wonderful romance in this book; it is full of warmth, wit, love and of course some hiccups along the way.
On A Night Like This follows Fran Cooper as she finds herself stuck in a rut, constantly trying to please others whilst finding her own happiness is being left behind. Fran decides she wants to look for a change and within days she finds herself on a yacht in the Mediterranean, the assistant to a mega star and on the way to THE party of the year. Whilst things don’t quite go to plan, Fran does happen to stumble (literally) upon a handsome stranger named Evan. Could everything change for Fran on a night like this?
I’m just going to say it now, I think Fran might just be my absolute favourite leading lady of the year, I just loved her. The personal journey that she goes on in this story is really special; she really begins to find out who she is and what she wants having lost herself for quite some time in the pursuit of making others happy. She is also hilarious! Her dry, self depreciating Yorkshire wit is just fantastic and several times had me laughing out loud. She isn’t perfect and makes mistakes, learning things about herself along the way. Without giving away why she did it, I’ll say that I cheered and wanted to high five her when she threw a certain man’s phone over a balcony! Simply, she’s just wonderful.
Being a romance novel, I of course must mention the leading man, and what a great leading man he is. I thought Evan was a fab love interest for Fran and loved the mystery that surrounded his character and how it unfolded. What a perfect guide he was to the Crystal Ball. Without giving away the plot I also loved his grand romantic gesture, but even more so the way that Fran reacted to it, it made the ending even better.
If you’re looking for a fabulous winter romance look no further, On A Night Like This is a simply wonderful book. I cannot wait to read more of Lindsey Kelk’s books.

This is the story of Fran, an executive PA and the adventures she has whilst being an assistant to a celebrity for a few days. There are ups and downs, with some funny parts, and some sad parts too. The characters are all well written, even the less likeable ones, which kept it feeling real.
It was an easy, enjoyable and escapist read, which was great. I devoured it in a day! I’ve not read any previous work by this author, but based on this I will definitely be reading more.
4.5 Stars

This isn’t really the sort of book I would normally read and didn’t have great expectations, however I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a well written lighthearted romantic comedy. The main protagonist, Francesca, has you wanting her to succeed in spite of the bizarre situations she finds herself in. A great holiday read, upbeat and fun.

"On a Night Like This" is a fanciful romance about temping PA Francesca. Fran is bored with her life and the lack of job prospects as she struggles to find temporary work. The main restriction is that she has promised her fiancee not to take jobs away from home after previously having travelled for work. When an unmissable opportunity arises with a short but lucrative contract she takes the job, even though it involves travel.
This book explores the breakdown of a relationship which has become controlling, with Fran expected to make all the sacrifices. When she becomes more open to adventure and really steps out of her comfort zone the fun really starts. Hopefully this book doesn't really tell us how the rich and famous behave, although there are bound to be some who are like the attendees of the Crystal Ball, and divas like Juliette.
This is an enjoyable and amusing romp of a book and the reader should find themselves willing Fran on to better things.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.

Entertaining and amusing
Fran Cooper 's life has become dull and she's overjoyed when offered a 5-day temporary job as PA to an undisclosed celebrity. Her job is to ensure that the difficult and famous pop singer, Juliette, arrives at the Italian island of Panarea where she's booked to sing at the exclusive Crystal Ball.
In a fit of pique, Juliette refuses to appear at the ball, leaving Fran alone on Panarea Island. Going to Juliette's hotel room, Fran sees a selection of gorgeous gowns and in a moment of madness, borrows one of the dresses and successfully manages to sneak into the ball.
The Crystal Ball caters for the rich and famous and is outrageously over-the-top, meeting Evan turns a extraordinary evening for Fran into one she'll never be able to forget. But this is for only one evening, they live on different Continents, he's a wealthy honoured guest and she's simply a gate crasher.
A modern and fun Cinderella story.
Highly recommended.

⭐️⭐️ 2 average stars. Maybe I am reading a different book from the other reviewers but for me this was just ok.
Annoying and cliched characters, cheesy romantic gestures and a weird storyline involving a hidden bedroom.
Not for me sorry.

I absolutely love this author and this book certainly didn’t disappoint and was the perfect escapism to read in a weekend. It was a fun and lighthearted Romance while at the same time addressing the importance of friendships and not just carrying on with things that no longer make you happy just for the sake of it and that sometimes it’s worth taking a leap of faith to see how things turn out and to take every opportunity you are faced with. This book had a perfect mix of comedy and magic and was like a modern day Cinderella and feel good fairytale all rolled into one. this was the perfect feel good read and totally brightened up my weekend

The start was promising however the story could not keep my attention. I don’t think I’m the target audience for this book since I barely read chick lit.

With grateful thanks to netgalley for an early copy in return for an honest opinion
What a thought provoking tale I really enjoyed this light hearted read and can highly recommend.

On a Night Like This has Fran living a rather dull life with her fiancé Stew who has no aspirations in his work or personal life.
When offered a job abroad on a luxury yacht as assistant to a superstar singer for 5 days she accepts for once doing what she wants even knowing Stew won’t be happy about it.
Frans adventure begins, there is much fun, humour and sparkling dialogue and a cast of interesting characters that bring much to the story.
After getting stranded in Italy when the yacht sails off without her she attends the Crystal Ball ( no spoilers as to the how and why) Think complete over the top extravaganza, Cannes Film festival, New York Met Gala, a cast of billionaires with more money than sense and manners.
Here she meets Evan, the chemistry between them is bewitching and the story unfolds beautifully.
A lovely romance, some slapstick moments and above all a great read. I would of liked a little more at the end, for me it ended a little abruptly, an epilogue with a glimpse of the future would of made it perfect
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly

Romanticism Of A Modernised Fairy Tale….
Getting what you wish for and going to the ball? That Cinderella moment? Does it ever happen? It might just be happening to Fran Cooper. Warm-hearted, amusing and entertaining romcom with a colourful cast, plenty of glamorous moments and the romanticism of a modernised fairy tale. An ideal read for the holiday season.

Review of On a Night Like This by Lindsey Kelk
I really enjoyed this story, the perfect romcom to cosy up with on a winters night. This is the story of Fran, a likeable character who gets taken from her ordinary everyday life and dropped on to a yacht as PA to a famous pop star. Through a turn of events she ends up at the glittering elite Crystal Ball in Italy, a fabulous star studded event for the rich and famous. She has her own Cinderella moment and meets up with Evan, a handsome American. Fran has an amazing time with Evan, but she knows it can only be for one night as their worlds don't belong together... Great read and Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful romance book. It takes you away from a normal humdrum life into something sparkling and slightly crazy and fun.
The characters are all absolutely on point. From Fran spending every page being utterly delightful to Evan and his effervescent charm to Juliette’s antics and struggles you get to know them all and they really bring the story to life around them. Even the creeps like Andrew add something to the pages and make it all seem real, not everyone’s a gentleman and not everyone is a decent person.
There was a moment where I forgot the blurb and though that the romance was Fran/Juliette but I much prefer where Kelk took them both, supportive female friendships are some of the best things to read! The slow build romance of Fran and Evan was lovely and never felt rushed or too much. I loved them. I loved pretty everything about this book and would 100% recommend when it comes out in November!

On a Night Like This is a wonderful story following Fran, a really likeable character who’s feeling a little lost in life. She’s struggling to find work, doesn’t have much of a social life apart from best friend Jess and her relationship with Stew is at standstill to say the least.
She gets a brilliant job opportunity that pays generously, gets her away from her normal life for a bit & doing what she enjoys for a mysterious & highly secretive VIP client. And despite her agreement with Stew to not travel for work anymore, what’s 5 days? She decides to go for it!
We follow her 5 day adventure which was scheduled to a T, but evidentially does not go to plan. However it gives Fran plenty of new experiences and time to think about what she wants in life.
This was a lovely story! Thoroughly enjoyed - so much so, I read it all in one day. Fran is a great character and made me really root for her. A great feel-good story with a hint of Cinderella goes to the ball.
I’ve only read 1 or 2 other Lindsey Kelk books but will definitely look out for more!

A Cinderella type of story. Super story about transformation. A ball A handsome stranger. This book has it all. A super read. Thanks to. Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.
