Thank you to Harper Collins for my copy of this book via Netgalley. I have been a HUGE Lindsey fan for many years and I was very excited to read this one which was deemed a modern-day Cinderella.

This book is hilarious, romantic and fun. Lindsey's books are always full of escapism. As well as a lot of hilarity Lindsey also brings in some food for thought as to if we are where we really want to be in life.

Fran Cooper is such a likeable character. I love her and Jess's relationship. Jess is the best friend we all need in our lives. I also really liked her relationship with Juliette.

I couldn't stand Fran's fiance, Stew. From the moment he appeared on the page I wanted him gone. Fran deserves so much more than him!

This is not a cute little romcom but fits more into the women's fiction category. Yes, there is some romance but it's much more about a woman taking control of her life and learning to follow her dreams.

Perfect uplifting read that will leave you with a smile on your face!

I am a long term fan of LK so I always know what to expect going into her books and this one was no different. Laughter, light hearted fun, escapism and a smile on my face. It was a little predictable and not very true to life, but if you love an enchanting romance this book is for you.

Fran Cooper's life is a bit of a mess. Her controling fiance has stopped her doing the job she wanted as he doesn't like her traveling, they live in a house that used to belong to his Nana and is still a shrine to her, and he shows her little or no affection - he keeps that for his ex girlfriend. When Fran gets a call from one of the agencies she works for who are being very secretive about the job on offer, Fran decided to go to London for the interview, very much against her boyfriend's wishes.

A lovely, fun, fast story which will take you into the realms of fantasy, and leave you smiling.

I absolutely loved this and devoured it within 24 hours. It was such an easy read and the perfect chick lit. It was like a modern day fairytale, particularly as it was set in Sheffield where I live!

Lindsey Kelk is a long term favourite of mine, and One Night Like This is no disappointment.

Easy to read, yet never trite or formulaic, this is a comforting hug of a book, with authentic characters and storyline.

Fran is in a rut, with her fiancé, her jobs, and in general. She is offered a job that turns out to be a complete change of pace (and a lot of fun to read about) and suddenly finds everything she thought she wanted up in the air.

Perfect escapism, I read it on holiday and would recommend for anyone who wants a bit of romance & fun that can be enjoyed at any time of year.

Loved following along Fran's journey of realising she deserved so much more than what life had dealt with. Her adventures at the Crystal Ball and the connection she made with Evan gave me all the feels. A feel good read I would definitely recommend!

Well this was bloody brilliant!! I’m not surprised! Being a huge fan of Lindsay’s books I didn’t expect it to be anything other than fantastic! I recommend you move this to the top of your tbr piles!

Fran Cooper is looking for change, so when she’s offered a personal assistant job working for a celebrity, on a yacht en route to an Italian island she jumps at it no questions asked even though she knows it will upset a certain someone.

Fran is responsible for getting internationally famous singer Juliette to the Crystal Ball, the glittering event for the worlds rich and famous. However it’s not all smooth sailing (see what I did there!?).

This has the Kelk humour we know and love so much! Lindsay’s books are entertaining, providing me with the escapism I crave. With a modern day Cinderella vibe about it, I loved this from the very start. Of course this had me laughing out loud and swooning over Evan.. oh yes please! I would gladly trade the husband in! 🫢

Fran is loveable and such a funny character, an absolute natural, I so want to be her friend! Lindsey creates wonderful female leads, relatable, down to earth you can’t help but love, admire and be rooting for them. Fran is another special character I will keep close to me and hope to see again.

‘On a night like this’ is chaotically funny but it also covers a more relatable serious topic of personal growth. It was amazing to follow Fran’s journey, watching her grow with confidence, believing in herself, deciding what she wants out of life, and to not settle.

As always, an effortless fun story that no doubt I’ll re read again and again!

This is the sort of book you enjoy and move on. No book hang over, no left wondering.
The characters are fun, the situation lively enough to keep you read and overall a nice book - in every sense of that word.
Grab this book for a holiday read. Or just grab a bottle of wine and curl up for a fun light read.

Another great book by Lindsey Kelly, it transports you into a lovely bubble of fun and romance, the characters become your friends and it’s one of those books you want to keep reading but when you get to the end you just want it to carry on. Brilliant rom-com a must read.

Absolutely loved Fran! She is just the perfect kind of heroine! Initially, I wasn’t keen on her boyfriend but actually by the end, I see where they are both coming from in their thinking and feel like it’s very realistic in their thinking!

Absolutely adored the end and want to read more!

Guys I have been struggling to read both in terms of time and concentration, I have read Kelk before and do enjoy her books. In this one we meet Fran, engaged and been with her partner Stew for 12 years, everything is centred around ease/routine of his life. When Fran is offered an interview for a job, assistant type, with little information on the who and all top secret hush hush she goes for it. Kicking off a whirlwind with looking after a high maintenance celebrity, off on a high class super rich yatch and away from Stew, pals, routine, incommunicado effectively.

So if you want to ditch your current life and bounce into one of babysitting a brat celeb, secrecy, money, madness then put your device down and grab this book. Fran is super relatable because she is like your average everyday type person. A bit of a people pleaser but has drive, loves to do a good job but also very human which finds her getting into a few hilarious and mortifying scrapes.

The celeb lifestyle aspects of the story are very believable, we watch Tiktok, we read the stories/news and Kelk spins it we can absorb and eat up every word and enjoy the ride and riddies as poor Fran scrapes through one disaster to the next. Even at the start when we didn't have much info/contact with Stew I wanted to pan his melt in, I just didn't like the way he was with Fran, I found myself eh RED FLAG RED FLAG MATE but Fran has been living it for 12 years whilst a bit selfish and maybe annoying she accepts things as is. Until she takes the job, she knows he won't be happy but she goes for it anyway *air punch* yas, good for you Fran. I did find myself cheering her on at points, others cringing going oh no no no girl don't do/say that, eeek.

I think that is why Kelk books are so popular, you can sink in, leave your own nonsense behind and soak into someone else's. In this one we get transported to the rich and how the other half live but as Fran is staff it makes it more accessible/relatable for the reader. Humour, disaster, romance, celeb, relationships, friendships - it has a bit of everything and so good to just switch everything off to, 4.5/5 for me.
