I really enjoyed this book and I also really loved the art style.

This graphic novel does a wonderful job of creating a universe that feels entirely familiar rather than brand new. I genuinely enjoyed the storytelling, specifically the way it took the robots versus humans story and made it very much about finding love against all odds.
A very good book that is easily recommended.

I've really enjoyed Kid Toussaint's previous work - and he knocks it out of the park again with Love Love Love.
This was just....really cute! A sci-fi romance set in a futuristic Paris. This is a fast read - I didn't mean to read it all in one sitting but well, I did! The art is gorgeous too. Looking forward to seeing more of Toussaint's work.

Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for giving me this eARC to review.

I will say that I read this a while ago but my review seemed to never go through so I am having to give this review trying to remember a lot of what happened but I do remember how I felt about the book.

Love Love Love wasn't a bad graphic novel! The art was really nice and I enjoyed the world-building part of it. The story is a little unconventional as it is about a robot and a human falling in love in a dystopian future but it was also a very easy read as it kept my interest.

Sadly, I did not enjoyed it as much as I wanted to. I loved the artwork, but the charasters felt flat and the story seemed a little bit rushed. Probably read together with the other parts it would be more enjoyable.

2/5 Had download issues and I remember this not being very fulfilling.

I'm sure others would absolutely love this if they love the synopsis but that person isn't me, unfortunately. I really like the artwork and the colors though!

In a future Paris, robots or mechas have become sentient but they are now exploited, relegated to the worst jobs and living quarters. Worse, they are no longer able to get new parts when old ones wear out.

Despite the odds, cherish bot Kiarel and human Ella have become friends. But just as their feelings develop into something stronger, a mecha resistance is forming and the two are thrown into the chaos and violence that is developing.

I rarely read comics with the exception of those from Europe Comics. They are always unique with well-written and beautifully drawn and coloured stories.and often deal with important social issues. Love Love Love Vol 1 written by Kid Toussaint is no exception.

This is the first volume and is very short. It is also impossible to read it without drawing parrallels between this tale and the plight of refugees fleeing war-torn areas, only to be rejected by the countries they are fleeing from. There is clearly much more to the story that I look forward to reading ifuture volumes.

Too short to give us a satisfying finish -- it felt very rushed. I also didn't care for the characters; they're very flat, trope-ish types. They fit their roles well, but I had hoped for more substance. There's a lot of potential for a really engaging and thought-provoking story here... but it just fell flat. Sometimes you get a short story that packs a BIG punch.... and then sometimes you get this. Where it leaves you yearning for something more.

Thrown into a world where Elle, a very angry human who wants very hard to be nice, and Karel, a Cherish Bot built to give and receive comfort from humans, meet each other and realize they kind of very much like each other. Only, the world isn't a happy place. More and more A.I.s are being shoved together, and have little access to modern conveniences, and so unrest grows and the A.I.s look to rebel. Karel disappears after a protest, and the end of issue one definitely leaves a lot of questions unanswered. The artwork is fun to read and there is a lot going on in the backgrounds all the time. The characters are fun, but I wish there was more world building. Maybe I'll be able to read the next issue sometime.

Too short for my liking. The love story between Karel and Elle was cute in the beginning, but in the end it was rushed and all over the place.

I was approved but never actually received a download option for this one, so unfortunately I’m unable to review.

On the surface level, Love Love Love has the initial appearance of being a simple love story between two people on polar opposite sides of life in pretty much every way. Elle is a down on her luck former waitress, with nothing is going right in her life, and Karel is a robot in a world where robot lives are completely expendable. In this universe, life as a robot is hard. They are definitely second-class citizens, and are denied even the smallest bit of hospitality. For example, we see Elle try to get a taxi for the pair, and Karel is denied service. This book is both an allegory for inter-racial relationships and social justice, ala the Civil Rights Movement, through the lenses of a classical science fiction story.

“In a futuristic Paris, robots have evolved into sentient beings whose rights are being revoked due to the perceived threat they pose to human society. But not everyone has turned their backs on these so-called mechas. When the cherish bot Karel and down-on-her-luck Elle meet in the subway, they soon become friends, and something more… But a robot resistance is forming, and the two of them are dragged unwittingly into the chaos. Not only that, but Karel’s programmed life expectancy is mysteriously decreasing… Will they be able to stop the countdown, and steer clear of both the robot rebels and human police?”

One cool little callback that I enjoyed was the author’s reference to the first ever story involving robots, R.U.R or Rossum’s Universal Robots. The 1920 Czech play written by Karel Čapek coined the term “Robota” or “robot” which is literally just the Czech word for “slave”. So when the main character is named Karel Rossum, you can see where they are going with this. In many ways, this story parallels the very story found in R.U.R. which is about the creation of a race of synthetic beings to be used to do manual labor. These beings become disillusioned with their place in life, and revolt causing the end of the world. While that ultimate fate has yet to happen by the end of volume one, there is definitely a group striving for that ultimate goal. This story also takes ideas from Asimov, and perhaps even Lang’s Metropolis a bit as it is, in many ways, a love letter to early robot stories.

I really liked this book, and had no idea it would go the direction it was going to end up. If the first volume is indicative of how the story is going, I feel that it will probably end tragically, but here’s hoping the author surprises me. I have a feeling volume two will be far more action packed, and I’m down for that for sure. If you are a fan of classic robot fiction, Asimov, Metropolis, or even Astro Boy, I would definitely recommend this comic. Europe Comics hit it out of the park once again!

I didn't like it. The book was too short and no plot. It wasn't up to par. my question is why is it so short?

Love Love Love is a beautiful sci-fi, dystopian romance graphic novel that I loved. With a loud rude main character I found lovable and her mecha/robot love interest who was more soft spoken and calm. The two characters fit perfectly together and the story flow perfectly and had a brilliant ending. I cant wait to read volume 2

This graphic novel does a wonderful job of creating a universe that feels entirely familiar rather than brand new. I genuinely enjoyed the storytelling, specifically the way it took the robots versus humans story and made it very much about finding love against all odds. The characters were quickly enjoyable (I very much came to love Karel) and the art style was just so beautiful and inviting. I really enjoyed this graphic novel and I’m hoping to see more of it!

this was pretty cute!! I really liked the art style and the plot was pretty interesting, i just didn't connect with it as much as I hoped to. i'm also in a reading slump so I suppose that doesn't help. I read this pretty quickly, since it's not really that long, and like I said, it was sweet, but just not really anything special for me :)
