Wow, Love Love Love is amazing! It's full of nuances and you can read so much into it. Oh the possibilities! The story is set in a futuristic Paris and robots are feared and their rights have been taken from them. Karel is a robot that feeds on love and at the same time it eats him out. He meets Elle on a subway and the two end up chatting and getting to know one another. At the same time there's a robot resistance wanting to end the tormenting of robots and Karel and Elle end up in the middle of it. They both want peace and understanding, but world isn't giving it to them. The setting is interesting and feels so possible in a sense. You can read any conflict in this and that makes this wonderful and creepy at the same time. The characters are well built and we've only seen glimpses of them, what will happen?
The art looks great and there's this Tezuka vibe in it, which works nicely. The color world is beautiful with pink and purple hues. There's so much in the comic and I really need to see how this ends. The setting and everything just sucks you in and it's full of emotion. Just wow! I loved how it's set in Paris too and how you can recognize that easily.
The art in this was some of the best I've seen in a graphic novel. Something akin to Stevenson, author of NIMONA. I really found this an enjoyable read and cannot wait, and I mean CANNOT WAIT for the next one.
A cute story! really enjoyed reading this but sometimes things felt rushed.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital review copy.
A fun start to what seems like a compelling series about robots and humans and what makes love real between two beings? Hated that there was a reference to “the Jews” instead “Jewish people “ when the whole point was not to stereotype, so that was a bad choice of words, but otherwise I’m hoping this series continues.
Such a great read, interesting concept to the story and the art work was fun to look at while reading.
The spin on human and bots are always fun to read about and this one feels like it will go places.

Review: I’m so in love with this book, first pages was slow but Karel and Elle made me giggle because they’re both so cute together. Although Elle kind of have an annoying characteristic since she’s so loud for no apparent reason but she matches Karel because he’s a sweet Robot.
The art is remarkable and I really like every detail of it. This also helps with the plot and the story, I cannot put down this book since the art style is amazing.
In addition, Karel’s programmed life expectancy is mysteriously decreasing. But their life expectancy is making them clingy so much, and they all need love to be recharged. And I guess Elle really liked it when Karel did it to her. And as a reader this made me cling to their characters more.
It breaks my heart when Karel could not even fight back even though humans destroy him, because the law of Robots cannot hurt human being because if he ever fight back he will shut down. It really sucks, it made me cry.
But seriously I want more of this book! The end was a real cliffhanger, that beacon made my jaw drop! I can’t wait to read the next book!
I picked up this comic for a quick and nice read, the kind you have when you're tired of long stories and between novels. And in a sense it was what I expected, but nothing much beyond that. I really liked the idea, the main couple, and the socio-political background. It was just that the story felt a bit rushed, not taking time to really develop anthing, or to make me interested in looking for the sequels.
This story is a cute tale, that’s perfect for middle readers. I love the art and I think that it will grip younger readers’ attention.
I ended up liking this more than I expected. The art is pretty and dynamic. The concept is something that has been explored before but the comic still feels unique. It's also really fast paced and while I don't really mind I feel like it might make it hard for people to get attached with story and characters. There's flaws but they don't hinder my enjoyment and I'd really like to see where the story goes.
Thanks Netgalley and Europe Comics for this ARC.
The story behind Love, Love, Love is interesting. In a world where robots don’t have any rights and are constantly oppressed by a human society, this story is an exploration of whether love can still exist in a world like this. At least’ that is what the resume promises.
I didn’t find the love story particularly touching or emotional, which was, I think a big flaw of the storyline. I enjoyed the idea of building a world in which robots are oppressed but the representation of said oppression could have been done in a better and less fragile way.
The mockery of rights activists wasn’t necessary, and the robot MC allowing the human to say the « r-word » shows how euro and white centered this comic is.

I LOVE Love Love Love; I wanted to find another way to say it but to say I loved it just seemed fitting! This is a glorious graphic novel that’s relevant, relatable and stunningly drawn.
This story ended up being far more real than I thought it was going to be; following Karel (a cherish bot) and Elle who meet, both with these inner workings to fall in love quickly, I mistakenly assumed it was gonna be kinda cutesy - nope. Parallel to the theme of love, life and relationships is prejudice, violence and revolution. Tackling the difference between human and robot, the judgement but also the reliance; turns Elle and Karel’s friendship into a danger zone because of peoples perceptions.
It’s characters, both human and machine, are like real people, that’s the only way I can say it, you rather are that type of person or you know someone who is.
There’s a lot of flesh to this book, inside this main narrative you also have tiny elements that’s are just super cool! It’s this genius of a fresh take on what’s already known or been seen, so it becomes its own shape.
It’s a great story following blossoming love, getting riled up in protests and revolutions, it affects head and heart and I can’t wait to see where this story goes.
I’m pretty sure this book is originally french, I got an English version from Netgalley and the publisher, so hopefully future volumes will be accessible but I’m not sure where you can grab an English physical copy, but maybe an ebook edition?
Thank you so much to @netgalley & @europecomics for this arc to review!
Thank you to NetGalley and Europe Comics for an E-copy.
Such a beautiful story with great art and spot on translation!
This is a love story that has nestled itself deep into my heart. Part robot meets girl, part social commentary, part rallying-cry, Love Love Love is one of the best graphic novels I’ve read in years.
This book was definitely a refresher for me, I personally never see good sapphic love stories on graphic novels and the way it was translated was spot on. I definitely think you should read it if you are into graphic novels.
A very cute book with lots of underlying serious issues!! Definitely recommend for a quick read- I also really liked the drawing style and the overall layout of the book!! Very interesting concept
This graphic novel is translated from French, but thankfully didn't lose any of the nuisance I feel is often overlooked when translating books.
I wasn't in love with the art style myself, but I definitely think it is for a lot of people (reminiscent of Betty Boop and similar etc) I would say that it affected how much I enjoyed the story though.
This lacked some world building outside the synopsis, and although I knew it was set in France/Paris, I didn't really feel like it was anywhere in particular. Adding to this, there wasn't really anything in the way of really introducing the world and the characters - by the end of it I got the general idea, but I wanted more in depth information.
The story progressed very fast for a single volume, an entire love story started and ended and I don't think I got overly attached to them, so I wasn't upset with anything that happened.
Overall I think it wasn't very strong of an execution, while the idea was there something was missing.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ebook in exchange for an honest review.
Content Warnings
Sexual Harassment: (Pg.14) apartment neighbor looks at MC back end while hinting that they should hook up for "neighbor appreciation day". MC doesn't seem to notice.
Racism:Fantasy racism towards robots that parallels racism in the US during the Civil Rights Movement. Segregation.
Cheating: A side character is cheating on her husband with another bot they live with.
Violence: (Pg.31-33) MCs are attacked by a drink neighbor.(Pg.56)mutilated robot body. (Throughout) rebellion uprising with riots/protests and police violence against bots.
Looking for a graphic novel with lgbtqia+ representation, sentient robots, and a rebellion uprising? What about a sweet romance between a bot and a human? Or a story and world that almost directly parallels current world issues, along with U.S. Civil War conflicts?
This young adult graphic novel is the first in a series that takes place in a world where robots are segregated and oppressed by humanity, causing a robot uprising. The main character is a cherish bot who gains his energy from affection. He meets a fiery human woman, who believes in equality for bots. Thus beginning an unlikely romance between two beings who've always struggled with lasting relationships.
This book directly translates the U.S. civil rights movement into a dystopian world, and does so with a beautiful art style. I am not an Own Voices reviewer in regards to the racism/lgbtqia+ representation in this story, but I can say that I enjoyed this read, and look forward to continuing the series.

Love Love Love is a graphic novel set in futuristic Paris where the intelligent robots', (called mechas) rights are being revoked and so a robot resistance is forming. Elle and Karel, the two main characters are being dragged into it.
Okay firstly, this book was so adorable, it was a unique and fun story about a robot falling in love with a human.
I fell in love with the art style and the vivid colors and I definitely want to read more of the illustrator's work! The banter and conversations between the characters were witty, well-developed and flowed smoothly.
My only complaint would be that this was a bit too short for a romance book and that there was barely any character development. I also wanted more background information and history about the "mechas", since I was confused for around the first 30 pages, seeing as I don’t read sci-fi often.
Overall, the story is a light-hearted, easy read, that still presents an interesting and engaging action/sci-fi plot. I will definitely be reading the second volume, especially because that cliff-hanger was EVIL.
very unique book, reminded me of WallE, i loved the art and the concept of the book but i feel like certain things were very rushed.
