A beautifully written book that I loved from the first page to the last. It was predictable in places but I so wanted Charlee to have her happy ending. Being the granddaughter of a master chocolatier, Charlee has inherited his skills and dreams of opening her own shop. There is so much Christmas feel about this book, decorating the tree, the big switch on of the lights around Castle Street and of course chocolate. A definite winner from Jessica Redland and one not to be missed

A turn of fate sees Charlee leaving behind her home and job in Hull, and taking up a new life in Whitsborough Bay. Her grandfather was a master chocolatier, and her dream was to open her own shop. Can she make a success of her own business, as well as her messy love life?

I loved this book, it was a quick, heartwarming read. Perfect characters, I loved Charlee and her best friend Jodie, and the twists and turns Jessica Redland puts into her story were emotional - both happy and heartwrenching. It was the first book I've read by this author but I absolutely guarantee it won't be the last!

I love Christmas books. I love feel good books. And I love happy ending books. Charlees adventure when opening her seaside chocolatier shop is all three. This is engaging, lighthearted and just delightful! A really charming book!

Any book with the word chocolate in it and I am sold, especially when it is a book by Jessica Redland. Her writing just makes me want to go to the places she talks about, in this story we return to Whitsborough Bay which was lovely to see what the residents are all up too. Charlee has just moved here, she is going to set up a chocolate shop as she is a chocolatier and wants to carry on the memory of her beloved grandfather. The only problem is she wants it all done before Christmas and Christmas is not too long away. Her boyfriend is not much help either, but will her dreams of opening the shop be a massive failure? When some of the local residents step in to help her can she get it all done in time? This is the perfect Christmas read that you can snuggle up with, with a bar of chocolate of course as reading about the chocolates in this book made me very hungry. The story was captivating and it is a story about finding your one true love. I loved it.

The characters are likeable, if not always entirely believable. An engaging story that I read in one sitting as was unable to put it down.

I have yet to be disappointed by a book by Jessica Redland, and this wasn’t any different. I fell in love with the characters and rooted for them to get their Christmas wishes. I love her books as an escape from everyday life.

This is a great story with well thought out characters. I found myself cheering them on. I hope this is the beginning of a series.

I have a bookshelf dedicated solely to festive Christmas books so there’s a lot of competition on my part. I am 100% a Christmas, winter, snow, cold weather kind of girl and when you add a chocolate shop to it, what’s more to love?

I always start planning my Christmas in the summer so I can expand the festivities for longer, and there’s something very comforting about reading a Christmas book in the middle of June, it almost feels naughty.

Jessica’s writing is so smart and witty and insightful and warming. She had created such a picture postcard image of what a traditional village Christmas should be, and I need it in my life. It’s such a warming, curl up by the fire kind of book, especially if you’ve got a box of chocolates next to you.

I was really sad when I finished it (in a matter of hours) because it meant I had to say goodbye to this world, but the good - and dangerous - thing is I have found Jessica’s entire back catalogue which I’m overjoyed about.
