A successful reading session will be had from this book, that has really strong rhyming couplets to build its narrative from. The only thing to my mind against it was that the balance was off – the title of the thing says it's going to be about a dragon that farts fire, but the core of the book is how he gets into that state. So the bulk of the story is about a knight inspiring such a bizarre circumstance (and we can't really work out the relationship between the two main characters, what with them being so friendly towards each other), and given that the bottom burp comes at the bottom end of things there's nowhere near enough toilet humour for those youngsters expecting it. We're supposed to wait for the promised sequels for that kind of thing, I suppose. Still, it's all presented well enough and constructed out of such strong verse I think four stars is right.
