Beth Moran's "We Belong Together" is a touching narrative that explores themes of love, redemption, and the transformative power of second chances. This four-star novel follows Eleanor Sharpley, who, in her quest to escape her London life, unexpectedly finds herself on Damson Farm, entwined in a world of grief, family secrets, and a village divided.

The story unfolds as Eleanor seeks refuge on Charlie's family farm, only to discover that Charlie is absent, leaving behind her grieving brother Daniel and a daughter, Hope, whose existence Eleanor was unaware of. Damson Farm, mirroring the fractured village of Ferrington, becomes the backdrop for Eleanor's journey of self-discovery and healing.

Moran beautifully captures the essence of Damson Farm, portraying it as more than just a physical place but a haven with its own kind of magic. The depiction of the changing seasons, the blossoming orchard, and the buzzing life on the farm adds a delightful layer to the narrative. As Eleanor invests her love and care into the neglected farm, it begins to come alive, mirroring her own journey of renewal.

The characters, particularly Eleanor, Daniel, and the villagers of Ferrington, are well-crafted and relatable. The novel skillfully delves into their complexities, portraying their flaws and vulnerabilities with empathy. The Old Side/New Side feud within the village adds an intriguing layer of conflict, enriching the overall tapestry of the story.

The pacing of the novel is steady, allowing readers to savor the unfolding events and appreciate the gradual transformation of both Damson Farm and its inhabitants. Moran weaves a narrative that is both heartwarming and thought-provoking, prompting readers to reflect on the importance of honesty, forgiveness, and the possibility of rebuilding fractured relationships.

While the resolution of Eleanor's secrets may feel somewhat predictable, the overall emotional journey and the charming depiction of Damson Farm contribute to a satisfying and uplifting conclusion.

In conclusion, "We Belong Together" is a captivating tale that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the healing power of love. Beth Moran's skillful storytelling, coupled with a cast of endearing characters and the enchanting setting of Damson Farm, makes this novel a delightful read. With its themes of redemption and belonging, "We Belong Together" earns a well-deserved four stars, leaving readers with a warm and hopeful feeling.

Unfortunately I went on a requesting spree during lockdown and my tastes have since changed.

As the book has been on my shelf since 2020 or 2021 I believe I need a cull as I am highly unlikely to ever read it.

To be fair to the author I have star reviewed based on the average.

I am enjoying discovering and reading all of this authors books after only finding them a few.months ago. I have said it before and I will say it again this author really knows how to get to the heart of human emotion and how to break your heart and then build it back up again and really hits you to the core with their poignant and thought provoking writing.

This was a story of forgiveness and of putting the events of the past to bed so to speak and also covered sensitive topics of grief and discrimination and divide in the community and how the world becomes a better places when everyone pulls together and stops fighting against each others options and lays the past to rest in order to face the future.

I read this story a bit ago and forgot to leave a review.
I thought this story was beautiful and heart-warming. I loved the main characters and the relationship they created as well as the friendships they made along the way. The little stalker element was a great way to mix this up a bit.

Thanks NetGalley and sorry about the late review!

This is well up to Beth Moran's usual high standard. It is such an enjoyable read and Eleanor's character has quite an intriguing past. Her relationship with her family seems to be complicated to say the least but there were one or two surprises there me in the end. The romance is always there, simmering in the background, but this is more than a simple romance story. There is also a mystery to solve.

I also loved the story surrounding Damson Farm and the village of Ferrington. This is a community divided and there needs to be forgiveness and reconciliation if the whole community is to flourish. Friendship and working together runs through the story. There is a huge difference between sincere thoughts and actions and the facade that can be created on social media. Thinking about the consequences of one's actions and the effect on others is shown to matter. Lastly, I loved the humour that was found in Eleanor's family and their down to earth, no- nonsense approach to living. The whole story seemed grounded and I am hoping that the author might visit Ferrington again.

In short: Live and let live

We Belong Together is the only book of author Beth Morgan’s I have read and I found the story to be a lovely blend of humor, warmth, charm, and a compelling sensation of rightness. Overall, the story flows very smoothly and keeps the reader engaged from beginning to end. I found myself laughing at some of the character interactions. This is a contemporary romance that takes you through the fantastical journey of life and all the surprises that come along.

What I enjoyed:
▪️The romance between the MCs is allowed to develop at a natural pace. All to often books with the forced proximity trope tend to skip the “getting to know each other and then fall in love” - glad this author didn’t choose instalove.
▪️The setting of a small English community with a strong sense of pride and togetherness.
▪️The meet cute aspect of the Hero coming to the rescue of the heroine before they knew of their connection.
▪️The Hero and a baby - nothing gets the ovaries pinging like a strong man who is wrapped around an infants finger.

What I felt went wrong:
▪️The story only being told from the female MC POV, a lot of “story” was missed leaving out Daniel’s POV
▪️The lack of an epilogue…one of my pet peeves
▪️The mystery part of the plot felt a tad OTT and I honestly think the story would have been better if left solely as a “new beginnings” and “finding yourself romance”
▪️I felt like the story dragged in spots and found myself having to force myself to continue reading.

Overall 3 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A heart-warming tale of renewal, starting over and second chances, Beth Moran’s We Belong Together is a sweet, poignant and absorbing read.

Eleanor Shipley needs to get out of London – fast! Throwing everything she owns in the back of her car, she hightails it out of the city and goes to stay at her erstwhile best friend’s farm. Only, Charlie is not at Damson Farm and Eleanor finds her grieving brother Daniel, her eight-month old daughter Hope (whom Eleanor had no knowledge about) and a derelict and dilapidated farm in desperate need of tender loving care. Eleanor ran away from London to shake off the many problems that were weighing her down – instead she finds herself slap bang in the middle of a feud that intensifies with each passing year.

Ferrington is a village divided by more than just a river. It is split between the old side and the new side and the tension between both sides has now reached a crescendo from which there is simply no going back. However, Eleanor is not about to let this community be torn apart even further. She will do whatever it takes to bring both sides together – and who knows, maybe in the process she will end up finding the happiness she had long given up on!

As Damson Farm begins to come to life, Eleanor begins to work her magic on the people of Ferrington as well. As winter gives way to spring, old wounds begin to heal, hatchets are buried and a new way of life beings to dominate in this village that had once been divided. The more time Eleanor spends at Damson Farm, the more she begins to feel like she has found somewhere she belongs, but will her newfound happiness be put in jeopardy by secrets from her past?

Full of warmth and charm, Beth Moran’s We Belong Together is a lovely read sprinkled with humour, emotion and magic that keeps readers completely and utterly engrossed from beginning to end. We Belong Together is an emotionally satisfying tale about fresh starts, healing from the past and finding happiness that is so delightful readers will find themselves laughing out loud on many an occasion.

Witty, compelling and irresistible, Beth Moran’s We Belong Together is sure to go down a treat with contemporary women’s fiction fans everywhere.

Happy times. I loved seeing the story from Eleanor's POV as both the main characters developed over the pages.
The emotions seeped into the words which evoked mine. And I liked all the feelings the book gave me.
Eleanor's character development as she worked hard to become better than what she was. Fear to strength, she went through it all. Daniel too captured my heart soon down the pages, though my eyes were riveted to Eleanor.
Humor was interspersed with social issues. I liked how Eleanor endeavored to find a solution.
The ambiance of the small town to capture the rivalry was well done. There were so many tiny bits that fitted together.
Eleanor's secret dragged the story down as the author kept prolonging it. After some time, I was not too interested in the secret, but more involved in the love story.
A sweet read about family and love and smoothing the age-old crisis of a small town.

I thought this was a really cute story. I love books with small towns as the setting and thought this one delivered that nicely. it was cosy and sweet and I loved the friendships the main character made that felt very genuine and heartwarming. this wasn’t so much of a romance, but I didn’t mind as the plot was very interesting.

The story line is what originally caught my eye, it’s so intriguing! I think that overall, this book is well-written and one of a kind. It was engaging and easy to read!

Love this book! Eleanor needs to escape her life; she goes to stay with her friend Charlie: but is shocked when she gets there to find she passed alway a year ago.. Left behind is Charlie’s brother Daniel and her baby Hope. There was so much more to this story than what I had originally thought, this is the story of a town quite literally building bridges as well as Eleanor finally meeting her tormentor . Highly recommend.
