Charlie - 8/10

'Award-Winning Author Caryl Hart, the name behind 'Supermarket Zoo' & 'Whiffy Wilson' has released another great title!

'How To Track A Sabre-Toothed Tiger' is a wonderful adventure through the stone age! It is a truly great book that highlights the power of children's imagination, I personally LOVED how the author encourages children to seek certain prehistoric objects on different pages, it was a ingenious addition to an already great read!

My daughter actually received a runaway pea book off of her preschool and she loves to curl up and read it, so I knew this one would be no different.
Short snappy verses that rhyme, which in my opinion keeps a child's interest piqued throughout, with bright colourful illustrations too.
Great read

We're big fans of the Runaway Pea series by Kjartan Poskitt and Alex Willmore. They're a quick paced, romp of a read. Rhyming stories are often our favourites and great for little ones. They really help to carry you through a story with opportunities to guess what the rhyming word will be. In this latest adventure Pea is left behind when he falls from a shopping bag. The Carrots in the bag are not very kind and won't help him, but soon he's off on his own adventure bouncing and whizzing his way through the story.

The illustrations are incredibly fun and the plethora of emotions displayed throughout the book on Pea's face had us in stitches. Who knew a Pea could have so many emotions! The story and pictures have lots of elements that children will enjoy including a bus, a football and a rather bemused nightingale.

I love how much fun Pea has in each situation he finds himself in - he's definitely an adrenaline junky! My daughter is quite planned in everything she does and reading this story helped her to consider the fun of being spontaneous and going with the flow or should I say Pea. I won't spoil the ending, but will Pea see The Carrots again....

The Runaway Pea Left Behind is a funny adventure that is amusing for both reader and listener. With lots of onomatopoeia, there are many words for parents to emphasis and have fun with, making this such an exciting experience to share together.

Poskitt's rhythmic prose is so much fun to read and young listeners will laugh out loud at Pea's entertaining journey. The illustrations by Alex Wilmore are also brilliant and I loved the layout of the pages as Pea pings from one obstacle to another.

This is a book that I would be happy to read over and over again, and there are already two other books in the series to start collecting.

Pea may be small, but his story is epic.

Fans of the Runaway Pea will love its latest adventure and the peril that comes after it drops from the shopping bag and pings from one surprising situation to another. The rhyming story will delight under 7’s as will the bright, vibrant illustrations. A great follow up with lots to enjoy either as a story read by parents or for early readers.

This is a pitch perfect comedic tale of pea who falls from a shopping bag and the ensuing journey. Children under 7 and young at heart parents and teachers will adore this book. The heroic pea has featured in two previously good books and the illustrations of Alex Wilmore and the wonderful prose of Kjartan Poskitt continue to entertain.
The language is wonderful for developing young readers and I can already imagine children creatively roleplaying the conversations between the pea and those he encounters as well creating their own pea tales. Highly recommended for Ks 1 / early years . An absolute delight.
