This is a delightful fit for readers who adore lighthearted, humorous, and heartwarming stories of forbidden love, friends-to-lovers romance, and small-town charm, with a dash of family drama and a sweet, swoony happily-ever-after.
This book really didn’t do it for me. The plot was contrived and obvious. I was super disappointed. This could have been so cute but it took forever to get to the point and then wasn’t satisfying at all.
I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
Thank you author Susannah Nix and publishers for giving me a free E-book ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
3 stars
I loved the premise of this book, which is what first drew me to it. The story line was a fun concept. I loved the main couples' meet cute. I enjoyed how their relationship developed into a true lasting love. The ending felt a little rushed but overall enjoyable.
A really delightful little romance that I think will do well with the romance reader crowd, but it didn't necessarily WOW me the way others have.
Thank you for letting me read this book! This was cute but overall not my favorite romance. I found myself smiling and overall liking it but just not my favorite.
Oh finally I got to this book. I love friends to lovers and this was a nice and special one. Thank you publishers and netgalley for this arc.
I’m a sucker for a good friends to lovers story and this one was super sweet. Andie and Wyatt have been pining away for each other for years, so when they finally admit their feelings for each other, things get real (and spicy!) pretty quickly. I could feel the love and devotion between the two of them, and that’s the most important thing to me in a romance.
The big climatic problem was a little silly (aren’t they always?) but I liked that there was some owning of that at the end. I won’t give spoilers, but sometimes irl we make big deals out of things that aren’t actually big deals, so some self-awareness from the characters when they’d been a little ridiculous was nice, and not something you often find in a rom-com.
I was a little surprised just how much I enjoyed this book. Would definitely recommend.
Thanks to Haver Street Press for the ARC!
While I love a good "reformed bad boy" story, and obviously who doens't love ice cream, this one was a little bit too steamy for me - which is just a personal preference. I ended up not finishing this book, but think that people who really love a lot of open-door scenes will love it!
I was surprised by how much I liked this book given that the plot at first did not seem like my cup of tea. There was definitely chemistry between Andie and Wyatt and I enjoyed reading about them falling for each other. I also thought that the side characters added to the dynamics of the story. Overall, a solid read and I would definitely read the next book in the series.
This was a sweet, fun romance with a great family involved. I like it when the characters have families, flawed or not, because in real life people have families and romantic partners need to fit in with them.
I really enjoyed this book, it was the perfect mix of longing and fulfillment as the romance progressed. I’d consider this a slow burn romance, since the characters have had feelings for each other for years!
The writing was great and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. 5 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
MY CONE AND ONLY is a Friends-to-Lovers, Brother's Best Friend, Small Town story that is perfectly sweet, swoony, and steamy! I loved this story so much! There are meaningful friendships, complex family relationships, sweet moments, an old family mystery, plenty of laughs, and lots of swoon! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SECOND BOOK
I sadly didn't get around to reading it in time due to personal circumstances and for some reason it isn't on my kindle so I can't even read it now and review as the file is archived. Have added it to the wish list to pick up soon as it really does sound like one I'm going to love!
Sorry!
Impossible attraction is hard to resist especially when it’s your brother’s best friend who is off limits, but Andie has dreamt of kissing Wyatt for as long as she could remember.
.
Wyatt feels the same about Andie and all of this time together is putting his loyalty to the test, but how far does loyalty go when love is involved?
.
I am so excited to read the next in this series.

Cute. Wonderful. I’ll definitely be reading more by this author. This is the first in the series and I’m looking forward to see what the author does next.
In this series opener, Andie's about to lose her house--then Wyatt gives her a helping hand. They've been friends forever, but that's all. Of course, both of them want more, but Wyatt's got a reputation with the ladies, and Andie's brother has declared her off-limits. The heart, however, wants what it wants. Wyatt's family runs the town, though, which adds another layer of difficulty, because it's his dad who's allowed Andie's house to be in jeopardy. Because these two have been friends for so long there's no meet-cute, but there is some real growth in Wyatt, initially aimless, who not only gains some purpose in helping Andie but who seems to gain the courage to find himself in the process. Nix is setting up a bunch of romances in a small town in Texas, and this is a strong start.
My Cone and Only is a fun read starring Andie and Wyatt and takes place in small town Texas. I enjoyed this book and liked the main characters a lot. I can’t wait to read the future books in this series.
As her brother’s best friend, Wyatt has been off limits to Andie as long as she can remember and despite her attraction to him, in the friend lane. Same for Wyatt. However, after a real estate developer wreaks some havoc in Andie’s life, Wyatt helps Andie, and we get to find out if they’ll always be just friends or if something else is in the cards.
Thanks to NetGalley and Haver Street Press for the eARC in exchange for my candid review.
Wyatt King has been in love with Andi Lockhart since he was 17 - too bad she is the little sister of his best friend, therefore off limits.
Andi Lockhart has been in love with Wyatt King since she can remember - too bad he is a man whore and he will never see her as anything but his best friends little sister.
Now Andi needs Wyatt’s help. A developer is threatening legal action and demanding she fix her home to standards, can handy man Wyatt save the day? And will spending all this time together be the catalyst for sharing their mutual attraction?
This is the first in a series about the King family. I will certainly be reading more! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
4.5-stars for My Cone and Only
What a awesome, amazing story! Wyatt and Andie have danced around their feelings for ten long years, and his best friend / her brother was an obstacle to Wyatt's HEA that he couldn't figure out a way around. This story has heat, passion, conflict and so much more that I definitely recommend reading! My only negative is I wish we would have gotten a bit more into the future and found out what happened with Wyatt's singing and with Wyatt & Andie's HEA but maybe we will find out in the King Family series book 2. So excited and looking forward to reading Cream and Punishment, Tanner & Lucy's story.
Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.
Thanks to the publisher, Netgalley and the author for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was just the kind of book I needed to lift me out of the doldrums. I think the characters had depth and the angsty longing between Wyatt and Andie was sweet enough, even without the ice cream.
The bit about the letters found in Andie's house came out of left field though, and unless it has some relevance to the rest of the stories in the series (which I will absolutely be reading), I'm not sure it really fit within this book.
In any case, a lovely friends-to-lovers story with plenty of humour and steam,
