I loved reading a little bit of Christmas in May! Sarah Morgan is a class act and an author you know you’re going to get a good comforting tale from. Thanks for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I did not get time to read this book as I am in college. I will look out for the book as I am interested in this topic and I like the location. Thank you for making the title available.
Loved reading a Christmas book in the middle of April! I can read Christmas books all year round.
I love the way Sarah writes Christmas books. Full of Christmas spirit, love, friendship and a little heartache. Always come together beautifully in the end!
Thanks to netgalley and the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion
My first book, that I have read by this author, absolutely brilliant! Highly recommended, and I will definitely read others written by this author!
A really enjoyable Christmas read.
What I would call a schmaltzy easy read - everyone needs one at Christmas time!
I have become a big fan of Sarah Morgan, and enjoy everything she produces.
A really great story, charming, atmospheric, great characters. Filled me with warmth and spirit. Well written and flowed nicely, was romantic and funny, charming and full of fun. A great read, i really enjoyed it.
Another great story from Sarah Morgan. She never disappoints. Every year she gets better and better. Two love stories in one and a family reunion. I fell in love with the setting as well as the characters and really made me want to see the Northern Lights myself. This is a must for all Sarah Morgan fans and for those who have never tried her books, then this one is a gem.
This was great. Such a well written novel, with great characters, and a rich story. I really, really enjoyed this, and especially around Christmas. It was definitely a lot more toned down and serious than most christmas themed books, but I thought it worked and I liked the overall vibe of the book.
A good read
There are quite a few characters in this story so you need to keep up with who’s who
A well written book
Thanks NetGalley
Christmas is fed up with her leaky cottage and is looking forwards to a Christmas Escape to Lapland to visit her aunt who runs a snow spa. Christmas is married to Seb and they have a fun-loving daughter, Holly, but Seb is being secretive and working longer hours, at least, that is what he claims. When he asks Christy and Holly to go ahead on their trip and he will follow on Christmas Day due to a work meeting, Christmas asks her best friend Alix to take her daughter on ahead. She needs to fight for her marriage.
Unknown to Alix, Seb's best friend Zac is also accompanying them on the trip - their past encounters have been turbulent. Alix is not a fan of Christmas due to her own dysfunctional family. It was Christy's family that showed her love and what family should be.
Robyn is Christy's aunt, who was estranged from Christy's mum before her death two years previously. The reason for their estrangement was never discussed.
There are many threads to this Christmas tale. It is an ambitious story, but Morgan pulls it seamlessly together and adds plenty of Christmas sparkle.
Despite some major issues regarding marriage, friendhips and family relationships, the dramas do give way to cheer. The magic of Christmas and Lapland manage to do their work and help the protagonists find balance. Relationships change, grow and develop and with communication and understanding can flourish rather than fade. Add snowy landscapes reindeer hot chocolate and the Aurora Borealis, along with some Christmas traditions and we have a recipe for enchantment. After a slow build up once we get to Lapland, the Christmas winter wonderland weaves its magic. An enchanting Christmas read. #thechrostmasescape #sarahmorgan #netgalley #lapland #relationships #christmasmagic
This is a great festive feel good read! It has very likeable characters and a happy ending - a perfect Christmas read!
I love a Sarah Morgan Christmas story and this did not disappoint. I mean, its set in Lapland!!
This book gives you the warm fuzzies. Such a heartwarming story set in a perfect location with some great characters!
I picked up The Christmas Escape in December, because a Sarah Morgan Christmas book deserve to be read by a Christmas tree. I have yet to read a Sarah Morgan book that I didn't LOVE and this was no exception.
This year's book is set in LAPLAND!! and it made me wish for a snowy Christmas in a beautiful lodge, deep in the forest somewhere!
We meet Christy, Alix, and Robyn in this book.
Christy is a mum and wife, struggling to constantly be perfect, which is causing more strain to herself and her relationships than she realises.
Robyn is Christy black sheep aunt who was cast out of the family when Christy was only 3 years old, now Christy’s mum has passed she wants to reconnect with Robyn and find out the truth about the family fall out, and what better place to do that then visiting Robyn and her husband at their picturesque lodges in Lapland?
Alix is Christy's best friend, and the closest person she has to family, but Alix regrets projecting her fear of relationships with Christy on her wedding day five years ago, and their relationship hasn't been the same since, Alix has also been avoiding Christy Husbands best friend, Zac, but a whirlwind of events land them together in Lapland and in the same lodge!
One thing I ADORE about Sarah's Christmas stand alone books is they always have multiple POV's which makes the reading experience so enjoyable and it also means there is a little something for everyone. My mum has read them all as well and we both agreed that we enjoy the mixture of ages and plotlines.
I am such a HUGE Sarah Morgan Fan, I have read all her Christmas books and pretty much all of her series which tend to also feature at least one book with a Christmas setting and they ALL come highly recommended.
Sarah Morgan is always a pleasure to read. Her books are amazing and the true epitome of romance. Once again, a great read!
Absolutely loved this book! Feel good festive treasure. I finished this in one night because I couldn’t put it down!
A fuzzy, feel-good Christmas story, set in Laland, home of the Aurora Borealis and Santa. Family and friendships and forged, I enjoyed the fact that it's more than just a love story, boy-meets girl, theres more than one storyline but they all meld together well. This was my first Sarah Morgan book, I think she has written more christmas stories, which I will be reading in the future.
Apologies for the late review,
"It was supposed to be Christy Sullivan’s perfect Christmas getaway—a trip to Lapland with her family and best friend, Alix. But facing a make-or-break marriage crisis, Christy desperately needs time alone with her husband. Her solution? Alix can take Christy’s little daughter to Lapland, and they will reunite there for Christmas Day. It’s a big ask, but what else are friends for?
There’s nothing Alix won’t do for Christy. But Christy’s request to save Christmas is giving Alix sleepless nights. She knows something is wrong, but for the first time ever, Christy isn’t talking. And even the Arctic temperatures in Lapland aren’t enough to dampen the seriously inconvenient sizzle Alix is developing for Zac, a fellow guest and nemesis from her past.
As secrets unravel and unexpected romance shines under the northern lights, can Christy and Alix’s Christmas escape give them the courage to fight for the relationships they really want, and save the precious gift of each other’s friendship?"
I did enjoy this a romance in Lapland what’s not to enjoy I just struggled to get through the toxic romance
This book is perfect for the escape of life. Not your usual love story. The story encapsulates you. I felt as if I was there experiencing everything with the characters. A book worth reading any time of the year.
What a gem of a book! I love the characters and how they learn to open up about feelings and how they grow. It really struck a chord with me about fractured relationships and the way the book describes winter and snow is spot on.
I will read more of Sarah’s novels
Sarah Morgan really does know how to write a truly magical Christmas book.
Set in Lapland this book has it all.
Romance, a family reunion, heartbreak and of course Christmas.
Really loved it.
