I loved this book and it will make a great addition to a family library and the build up to Christmas. No so good n school because we would miss the end of the story and so would need to read ahead a few days, but at home a great "advent calendar" style read.

I loved this so much, such a fantastic sequel. The writing , the story, the characters, just a fabulous read for the season. Absolutely flawless and will definitely be recommending this to friends and family.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Another brilliant advent book from Alex T Smith. This was such a unique idea last time and he has managed to carry it on and write a fabulous sequel. The writing contained within it is descriptive yet accessible. A fantastic way to kick off the seasonal celebrations and share those chilly evenings leading up to Christmas. Absolutely brilliant and will definitely be buying a few copies, for my family and as gifts, as soon as it is available.

I am not sure I ever read a book as quickly after getting approved.
Alex T Smith is an absolute gem of a writer and illustrator, one of my absolute favourites in children’s publishing. Claude, Sir Bobblysock, Mr Penguin and Winston- brilliant and well loved characters from his imagination.
Winston was first introduced a couple of years ago and though I know the story well, his adventure still gets read diligently every evening in December. Heartwarming and joyous, it is filled with the magic of Christmas.
This next adventure, How Winston Came Home for Christmas is equally, if not more, adventurous and heartwarming. It is filled with gems of wisdom about families coming in all shapes and sizes, about children’s books being the best out there and about being brave and determined. Winston, this year is as happy as can be but a moment of remembering causes his heart to ache and he knows he is missing someone important. A cross Europe adventure ensues and Winston meets and befriends many creatures along the way, all showing him kindness, help and love.
Filled with the magic of Christmas, in the many letters and gifts being sent around the world, the lights and food being shared and the knowledge of family missing you, all come together in this 24.5 chapter book. Each chapter ends with a delightful and fun activity to do with family members. We try a few each year and have lovely memories to share of this character!
Now to figure out the best way to read both Winston stories in our advent celebrations.
