I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
Loved it Genevieve is a surgeon and is in a bit of a situation, her mom is coming to visit and she has told her that she is in a relationship with surgical nurse Zach. Problem is that she now needs to convince Zach into a fake relationship… I loved Zach, he is brilliant at his job and his personality shone through right from the very start. He struggles with his feelings for Gen as they come from very different backgrounds, him a working class boy from South London and her a rich girl from New Orleans, but they both have fought to get away from the restrictions of their lives and as they become closer the differences don’t seem to matter as much. Zach has a lot of insecurities but he is still a strong and confident person who leapt of the page and I adored straight away It took me longer to understand Gen as she hides a lot of her painful past but once I got to know her better I understood her character, especially her fears and anxieties. She suffered from a condition called Bells Palsy, something that I hadn’t heard of before my mum had the same problem, and it was portrayed honestly but also sensitively and showed that it doesn’t have to limit a person but that they can still be who they are and what they want to be. I found that Gen having this condition made her seem so much more real and genuine to me, she is determined and brave but also vulnerable. She clearly loves her parents and knows her mom worries about which reminded me a lot of my own relationship with my family, I may have struggled with Gen as a part of me sees some of me in her which can be a bit disconcerting but also so well written that I started to love her very quickly Both Gen and Zach have been hurt badly in the past and really struggle with trusting each other in their relationship but as they start to be more open and honest, they became more real to me This book is full of drama, both medical and emotional which had me captivated by Zach and Gens story right from the beginning and unable to put it down and I was so hoping that it would be longer, the end came much sooner than I wanted! I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a medial romance full of medical drama as well as characters you will adore
When Dr Genevieve convinces nurse Zach to enter a fake relationship to help keep her meddling mum at bay, she’s confident there’s no danger of it turning into more. But is their ‘fake affair’ at risk of becoming all too real
Loved this one
I read this ARC for an honest review

A great quick read M&B
Enjoyed this but is pretty much what you would expect from this genre
Gen is a talented surgeon on the Island of St Eustice, but whilst her professional life is doing great, the same can't be said for her personal life. She was in a committed relationship when she is diagnosed with Bells Palsy, her fiance dumps her after deciding that she no longer is perfect and married her best friend instead. With her family worried about her she makes up a fake boyfriend based on Zack who is a nurse who works with her but now her mother is planning a visit to the island and she needs to convince Zack to go along with her crazy plan and become her temporary boyfriend.
I really enjoyed seeing both Zack and Gen overcoming their pasts and realising that they were actually falling in love for real. My only negative was the ending was very quick from the point they realised they loved each other to the end of the story, I would have liked an epilogue.
This was one of those books I found started well, but foundered a bit in the middle. The characters were well rounded out, but I felt that the 'relationship' between the two main characters lacked something, although I cannot say what for sure. I just didn't engage with them for some reason. Overall, it was an entertaining read, but I just felt it lacked something to really draw me in. Others, of course, may well feel differently.
A perfect “quick read” with a likeable group of characters and nice storyline. This plot follows a “colleagues to lovers” trope which is always one of my favourites to read. I couldn’t put this down and read it in just a few hours!
good strong romance, with parents meddling thrown in and pretend boyfriend and girlfriending! Whilst this is a traditional romance tale, it is very well told, with enough medical information to keep the plot line interesting and not too much to overpower - just right.
There isnt a lot of the beautiful island life, but there is enough to flavour the story and a few runs along the beach and amazing sunsets over the sea to make us all long for time away.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and Mills and Boon in return for an honest review.
I enjoyed it but I wasn't excited by this story. It was a pleasant read with the bonus of a Caribbean setting - the perfect escape.
I liked the h/H. Zach and Gen were a lovely combination, and their journey to a happy ending was well done. I wondered about Zach still being so angst-ridden about his ex-fiancee's behaviour; it seemed like 'good riddance' would have been more appropriate! But I suspended disbelief and went with the flow.
I love a fake engagement trope and this was done well.
