Nope, not a fan of this book, although I am a fan of the author. Couldn’t relate to characters and the story.

Interesting and light read with a dash of freshness that will delight readers with its mix of sweet and funny mom.
I was delighted to read about middle life romance and true friendship as major part of happiness.

Join four long-time friends as they meet up on Summer Island and get caught up to date on each other’s life. Nobody knows you like a good friend, right? It’s no different here. Trace can’t hide her secrets from her friends for long. She’s not too long back ‘home’ before she’s aware that her childhood home she’s inherited is slated for demolition. Tired and weary, she faces the biggest fight of her life. As fate would have it, Dustin Hawk is standing in the way of her dream. Can she bulldoze him or will the wrecking ball be headed her way?

This is the perfect beach read! I loved the authentic characters, the realistic challenges and the dreamy antagonist. Fabulous read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Summer Island Sisters is a typical light, summer, no-brainer read. It is the story of a group of friends supposedly in their early 50s that behave like 20 year olds (totally annoyed me). Trace is the main character who encounters a bit of trouble while fighting for the ocean as an activist. The trouble follows her home to Summer Island where she comes to heal and reclaim her childhood home. However, there's more drama at home with a neighbor/high school rival trying to manipulate the town leaders into demolishing Trace's home due to disrepair. This story is full of drama, friendship, and standing up for yourself... with a bit of romance mixed in. I would not necessarily recommend this book, however, if you're looking for a quick book to pick up while on vacation or at the beach, this could fit the bill for you!

A perfect choice to read for the waning days of summer. I love how Anne of Green Gables is used in the story, one of my all time favorite books. The main character has a deep secret, but will unearthing it being resolution and restitution? Dustin isn’t such a bad guy, just one who is cautious. I really like the cover, sun sand, and books.

Pretty typical Summer read. A couple finding that their attraction and their ideology are at opposite ends of the spectrum. She is trying to save ocean life, he is trying to build a hotel. Loved that there was that "Save the ocean" component in this likeable story. I grew to like the couple and cheered for them to find their way to each other.

Sparks flew through the air when Trace and Dustin first net. Since that first meeting they've been like oil and water.

Dustin aligns with Rhonda, childhood enemy of Trace, to get a dilapidated house, shed and trees removed to improve the view from his hotel and Rhonda's house. Little did he know he's been set up to take the brunt of Trace's disappointment and disgust.

As the facts unfold and Trace and Dustin are legally obligated to work together for the good of the town, the story unfolds. You'll laugh and cry with this group of strong female friends who defend and support each other through thick and thin.

A great beach read and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

I savored travelling back to Summer Island in this book, the second in the Friendship Beach Series. Summer Island Sisters can be enjoyed as a standalone. I'm glad, however, that I read Summer Island Book Club first to get acquainted with this group of four friends and fully follow their adventures in friendship, reading, romance, and mid- life predicaments.
Lifelong friends, Trace, Jewels, Kat, and Wind come together in the small community of Summer Island. Here, everyone thinks they know everybody's business, via the Salty Island Gossip Line, and secrets and rivalry can get in the way of peaceful, coastal living. Each resident and guest has a story that connects them to the place.
This book focuses on Trace, an ocean environmentalist, who returns to Summer Island to preserve her family home and historic charm of the Summer Island Hotel. She is battling serious, haunting issues of a past family relationship and a career related tragedy, both of which overwhelm her as she seeks to maintain her ancestral heritage. To further complicate matters, her current opposition, Dustin, is finding his way into her heart.
Knight's story is compelling, with the loyalty of the friends, who feel like sisters, as a theme. Reader's will want a return visit to Friendship Beach and Summer Island for more romance, intrigue and excitement with Trace, Kat, Wind, and Jewels and the locals and visitors. Oh, and everyone will want to know which book these four friends read together next, as well.
Thank you to Net Galley and Author Collective 20 for the advance reader's copy and opportunity to provide my unbiased review.

I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the friendship of the Summer Island Sisters, I enjoyed the budding romance of Trevor and Jewels, and I enjoyed the animosity, turned romance of Dustin and Trace. That being said, I wish we would have gotten into a bit more detail about the house and the hotel, and even about what happened with the whole lawsuit against Trace. I felt that even though it was a quick beach read, it went a little too fast Slow down a bit and give us a little more detail.

Again this author did not disappoint! This book was a very enjoyable read and helped us to get to know all the women better while exploring Trace’s journey. Will definitely explore Ms. Knight’s other books as I found that her story’s captured me from the beginning. My only criticism is that they are not long enough!

I have not read the first book in the series but I feel you can read this as a standalone with no problem.

The perfect beach read. Settle down on your sun lounger and get absorbed in the goings- on of summer Island. Trace, an eco- warrior returns to Summer Island after the death of her father. Like any small community, tensions bubble under the surface. A new development is planned for the local run- down hotel by a handsome entrepreneur which has polarised local opinion.
This novel is a very enjoyable and easy read.

I was never able to get into this book. It felt like I was dropped in the middle of a story with too many missing pieces and I never felt connected to any of the characters. I read other reviews and it appears I'm the odd man out because everyone else seemed to love the book. It is listed as a stand alone read but maybe if I had read book one I would have connected to book two better. Read it and maybe you will love it like the other reviewers did.

The sequel to Summer Island Book Club and the second book in the Friendship Beach series, it was nice to re-visit these characters.

This time we follow Trace as she tackles the grief of losing her father, fighting a long time enemy to save her fathers house, find love and deal with the death of her young intern.

Trace is a wreck but with the Summer Island girls by her side, her support system is out of this world.

I said it in my review of the first book and I will say it again, I love that this series follows women in their 40s and 50s. Second chance romance and lifelong friendships...what more could a woman want?

My review will be posted on my Instagram account (@thesubstitutelibrarian) on the day of publication.

Thank you NetGalley, Ciara Knight and Author Collective 20 for the ARC of Summer Island Sisters. This is my personal review.
Trace has moved home to live in the family home she has inherited but is shocked when she finds out is it set to be demolished! She has a fight of her life on her hands, but she has some amazing friends by her side.
This book has everything a great beach read book needs- friends, romance, great setting, and a secret.
Jewels, Trace, Wind and Kat feel like you have been friends with them all your life.
This is the second book in the series Friendship Beach. I loved the first book in the series so much. I was thrilled to be back. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Summer Island Sisters (A Friendship Beach Novel Book 2) by Ciara Knight is a marvelous story of a chance of change and love in midlife. This is my favorite of the series so far. I can’t really explain why except it grabbed my attention and my heart from the beginning. Trace Latimer is somewhat a prickly personality. Her longtime friend Jewels (First book) is a much easier personality so it is not exactly Trace that makes it my favorite. There is a mystery concerning her recent past that unfolds as the story progresses. It is clear why she has such mistrust of Dustin Hawk but is it deserved?

The story flows so well I felt as if I was there in Summer Island. However, the first book also did this. Perhaps it is the growth of the characters Trace and Dustin that drew me in so much. Both have regrets, I can identify with that which anyone older could. However, they learn that it need not define them or their future. Of course, the longtime, strong, always supporting friends is an allurement to in this story. Such great friendship is something we could all envy a little.

It is not a heavy read but certainly not a silly one either. For me it was a positive reflection on doing what is right, living a life that you can not only love but also be proud of too. Just the kind of reaffirming read I needed but didn’t know it.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
