I loved the idea of this story. I shared it with my 4 year old and he loved it, laughed lots and enjoyed looking at the illustrations and pointing different things out to me that he noticed as we went through the book.

This book is so seriously cute that I have now gifted it to 6 nieces and nephews. The illustartions are great....but the story about how everyone can fit in, even if they arent the same....well, it's a good story for those kids that don't feel like a part of a crowd. My kids loved it and I'm sure yours will too!

The book had a great flow to it and it was an easy story to follow and it was one that left me feeling warm and cosy inside and it has a really good underlying theme

I can see it being a firm favourite and one that is read again and again – my daughter loved it!

This is one of the funniest books I have read this year. My daughter and I really loved the book, which is about a Moose who tries really hard to be a fairy to join in with his friends. The story is really funny and the Moose is adorable. The book has awesome graphics and it is just a joy to read!

I really like this book, but what i love most is the fairy motto, its really sweet and nice!

I felt really sorry for the poor moose when they said he couldn't be part of their group because he was too different, but was happy that he saved the day! I liked all the characters, even the naughty fox because he was quite funny!

I would buy this book because it has a really pretty cover and also, its a really nice story

I immediately fell in love with 'The Moose Fairy' by Steve Smallman from my first look, they tell you not to judge a book by its front cover - but I can't help it, I knew instantly we HAD to read this.

'The Moose Fairy' is a sweet story following a moose who wants nothing more than to be a fairy for the day, and to be accepted. The story has such a great moral, and an even better fairy mantra that Bella & I loved!

This is a really nice story about understanding and respecting difference. It's a gentle story that finds Moose feeling left out of a Secret Fairy Club of mainly small animals, but events enable Moose to prove his abilities and be accepted after all. It's nicely illustrated and the positive message about being kind and accepting the differences of others is well done. Enjoyable.

Moose is so excited when he sees an advertisement for ‘fairy club’ and that all are welcome. He dresses up especially and loves all the activities. All of the other members are smaller than him and one rude mouse tells him that he doesn’t fit in. When disaster strikes, the members of the club realise that Moose is the best fairy of all. This a great story for young children with brilliant, vibrant illustrations. My 5 year old loved it!

Great little story, with a hidden meaning that good things come to those that continue to be nice! There is obviously more to it, but that's the nice simple aim of the story that children will understand and relate to.

An absolutely lovely book with a hidden agenda of not just about accepting yourself but how others see or judge you.

Moose is going to a secret fairy party. He rummages through his outfits and finally finds just what he’s looking for.

He turns up, he’s the biggest fairy there! And one nice little creature takes the mickey and points that out.

Moose joins in the fun regardless and promises on the fairy oath everyone makes a pact to.

Moose is a lovely creature because when his new friends find themselves in danger, who comes to the rescue? Yes. Moose.

There’s plenty to discuss with your child in this book. It was fun.

Lovely little story with fantastic illustrations. The fox was really well drawn and devious! My daughter especially loved it when all the animals were doing glitter pictures. There is a moral behind the story as well but I won't tell you what it is as that will spoil the surprise!

This is a very very lovely tale of a moose who has always wanted to be a fairy. One day whilst in the woodland he sees an advertisement for such an opportunity..Having found the right costume , he goes to join the group who at first ridicule him .He finds himself left out of the group and literally doesn’t fit in. He then foolishly ,in his sadness, tells a fox about the secret fairy club. But as in all good stories there is a happy ending.This is a warm hearted tale about wanting to belong and be recognised as part of a group. Steve Smallman has created another winner. This is a beautiful book to use with early years / Ks 1 to discuss the diversity in all of us and how we need to recognise solidarity and friendship to be able to breakdown animosity and support each other in moments of challenge . The illustrations are spot on and you genuinely feel for the moose to be included. This reminded me of an animal themed version of “Julian is a mermaid “

I love books by Steve Smallman so I was excited to read this one.
This is a brilliantly funny and heartwarming story about being kind and making sure everyone is included.
Moose is very excited. He's seen a poster about a secret fairy club and can't wait to join. He carefully chooses an outfit and quickly finds the special meeting place. It all goes well to begin with. Moose is good at making glitter pictures and reciting the special fairy oath:-
'Fairies are kind to all creatures.
Fairies are not mean or bitter.
Fairies help others in trouble or need.
And make pretty pictures with glitter!'
Unfortunately though, Moose can't fit in the little fairy door in the tree so he starts to feel left out. Some of the other fairies are unkind and tell him he doesn't fit in.
Luckily for the other Fairies though Moose remembers his special oath and comes to the rescue when Fox comes calling. Mouse and the others soon realise how unkind they've been and accept Moose for who he is.
This would be a brilliant story to introduce children to the importance of inclusion and diversity. A great reminder to not leave people out and think about the effect our words have on other people.
It is also a very fun and entertaining bedtime story. My children giggled at Moose dressed as a fairy and loved reciting the fairy oath. They also loved the secret fairy knock to open the special door. I'll definitely be purchasing a copy of this on 20th July to add to our collection.
