I have never read a book by Lucy, I really found this an easy read. Story flowed great. I would recommend. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion

I loved this book- when Hen parties go wrong! Lots of simmering tension and big reveals. Perfect Summer reading. Highly recommend!

Six friends all head to Greece to celebrate Lexi's hen weekend in an isolated villa high on a cliff top. Each of them have their own secrets and issues in life and most just want to get the weekend over with to head back home. As time goes on and the alcohol flows, the tensions and jealousy between them start to cause cracks in their friendship.
The fateful last night will either tear them apart or make them stand together.
This is told from each of the six characters perspective but its still easy to follow the story line. As each of their stories unfold, you think you know who will be the victim and who is the perpetrator but there are lots of twists and turns that soon makes you doubt yourself.
A great easy read that will literally keep you guessing

I’ve read & loved all of Lucy Clarke’s book so far & this was no exception. This is a thrilling murder mystery filled with friendship, deceit and lies. Highly recommend

Well this was a lot more twisty and turny than I was expecting!
Told from multiple points of view, we follow six women as they spend a hen weekend in a secluded villa on a Greek island. The weekend should be joyful, but as each character speaks, we discover they all have their own secrets and hidden agendas and someone isn’t going to survive the weekend.
Having each character’s views isn’t an easy thing to write and yet the author has managed to capture their individual personalities with ease. I listened to the audio of this and found it easy to keep track of who was talking. Bella was my least favourite character throughout the book and even after finishing the story, I’m convinced her feelings for Lexi, the bride, were more than platonic.
I can honestly say that I didn’t have a clue who would be murdered and who the murder was until it actually happened. I kept changing my choices as the story unfolded. I really enjoyed how fast paced it was considering the luxurious location and the quietness of the story. Fantastic story telling and plotting.
Thank you to @harpercollinsuk @harperfiction & @netgalley for the review copy.

I am writing this review based on an ARC provided by NetGalley.
This was a great read eventually. It took a while to get going, but once it did, all the secrets came out and we were away!
A hen party, on an island, sun, sea, sand and lots and lots of alcohol! What could possibly go wrong?!
I always enjoy Lucy Clarke’s books, and this was no exception. As you read, you could feel the hot sun beating down, and the claustrophobic atmosphere.

This book is told from multiple perspectives. It is full of twists. The characters are well developed. The characterisation is well done

What an absolute rollercoaster, full of twists and turns, I was totally invested in all of the characters. Amazing I'm off to read the read of Lucy's books.

A brilliant destination thriller brimming with intrigue, deceit and tension. It’s an unpredictable page-turner which I read in one-sitting, I just couldn’t put it down!
The Greek island setting provides a stunning backdrop, the sizzling atmosphere can be felt as anticipation simmers beneath the surface. This is a hen weekend that no one will be able to forget! With ulterior motives in play, taut dynamics and secrets galore nothing, and no one, will be the same again!
I really enjoyed the multiple points of view as we get to know each of the six characters on the trip. There’s a lot of history between them and each character has their own personal battles to face. Lexi is the bride to be and she’s putting her party girl ways behind her. There’s some friction with her best friend Bella who’s also dealing with the fallout of revelations coming to light with her girlfriend Fen. Fen’s simultaneously dealing with a past trauma that’s clawing its way into the present, while Eleanor has a hidden agenda for being on the trip. Robyn’s finally letting her hair down, whilst shocking information about Ana is exposed causing shockwaves through the group.
Clarke weaves a gripping, multi-layered story where not everything is as it seems. Once we scratch the surface of the friendships we see the love, jealousy, grief and lies tightly spun together for a thrilling, twisty weekend as the truth unravels everything.
One of The Girls is an addictively good read, it’s fast-paced, full of building suspense, and keeps the reader guessing until the very end! I highly recommend for any psychological thriller fans.

Really enjoyed this - will definitely be recommending and looking forward to the next one by this author!

A twisty psycological thriller with lots of characters. Bit slow to get going, and bit tricky to get to know each character without getting them mixed up - but I ended up really enjoying the book, and got to grips with all the characters, waiting for the murder to happen, lots of twists to keep you guessing and reading on.

A great book, the complexities of friendship, secrets and lies.
Great characters all linked in one way or another. Each with their own tale,
Great book

Read a lot of Lucy Clarke books and this one definitely had similar vibes, A group of women together on a greek island for a hen do, lots of secrets being kept by the various characters and then a shock death. In typical Lucy Clarke style, the second half of this book ramped up the pace and I was excited to find out the conclusion. Although I liked this book, I felt the Castaways was still better. Still, a really enjoyable read which I would recommend.

Thank you so much for the ARC of this title. Lucy Clarke is easily in my top 3 favourite thriller writers and I always recommend her titles, as they always go over well. This book was top tier as expected!

A thrilling murder mystery filled with friendship, deceit and lies. Hooked from the opening pages. Hugely enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.

The golden rule “what happens on the hen weekend, stays on the hen weekend."
It is Lex's hen party and six women head to Greece on the island of Aegos for her hen weekend , they are staying in Fen's Aunts villa.
The guest list is small just Bella, Lexi, Fen, Robin, Eleanor, and Ana a new friend Lexi has made in her adult life.
The settings are stunning and the Villa exceeds all expectations but everyone seems on edge and are all hiding a secret. Someone is determined to make sure that Lex's marriage does not go ahead.
A beautifully written descriptive book, I could practically feel the sun and smell the sunscreen.
A must read that will have you engrossed throughout this twisty and suspense filled journey.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love Lucy’s work. Another good thriller with a twist. I did find it hard to connect with the characters but still enjoyed the story.

Great book with a really interesting plot. I liked the setting of this for a thriller - it was a change from the typical setting of thrillers which tend to be dark, dull and miserable places. The author did well to describe the setting and I felt like I could picture it clearly. The characters were all distinct and the plot was really well done with good pacing.

Thank you Harpercollins and Netgalley for this book
A great holiday read. I really enjoyed this and devoured in 2 days. Good twists and turns and I saw some coming but not others.
Well written and good characters - highly recommend.

"One of the Girls" is the story of a hen party on a fictional Greek island where temperatures and tensions are high.
The six women attending the hen weekend are (obviously) an interesting mix. As well as bride to be Lexi there is her self appointed bestie Bella, who organised the weekend and is to be matron of honour. The others are long time friend Robyn, Bella's partner Fenella (Fen), sister-in-law to be Eleanor and new friend Ana. Some of the women do not know each other well prior to travelling to Greece and all have secrets, which are gradually revealed.
In addition to being a story about love and friendship, this is also about how well we really know our "nearest and dearest", who is reliable, honesty (including about their sexuality) and when it is time to grow up. This is a real page-turner of a thriller although, even by the end of the book, I couldn't really understand the attraction of the isolated villa for the hen party, apart from the fact that it was free! Essential for this type of book though.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.
