A good Seals romance thriller. A bucket list trip turns into a kidnapping and months of abuse for 3 ladies. 2 are cancer survivors and the other their nurse. The Seals are looking for them. One particular guy is determined to not give up. So with little to go one they go to Lebanon to find them. An excellent story of determination. and the power of love. High action in places. Good book.

Great read, lots of action. When Tylor and his team are sent on a mission to rescue 5 women, they return with 2 bodies. Tylor is haunted by the fact that 3 more are over there. CaIlan is on a vacation with 2 of her cancer patients when she is abducted. How is she going to survive?

This book caught my attention from the first line. I could not put it down I was hooked.
Now I want to go back and read the previous books in the series. And any other books by this author. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a good thriller or military romance book.

A really emotional book at times. Tyler, a Navy Seal can’t get the last mission out of his head and the woman they did not rescue. They missed them by hours. Knowing what it is like being abused and traumatized you get a look back on Tyler’s life after his mother died and the abusive uncle that he was sent to live with.
Cailyn, a nurse who was working with cancer patients, goes with some ladies on a trip to Europe. They were kidnaped in Spain. You are taken through their ordeal and how the women come to help Cailyn as best as they can. Meanwhile, Tyler does not give up and keeps searching with satellite and other information until he comes up with a location. When the team finally goes to where they were last spotted everyone is gone but they do find Cailyn barely alive, the other women have passed because of cancer.
The story then goes into the healing part and also searching for the individuals who were holding them. Cailyn helps along with other people, and both she and Tyler heal together. There are also other parts of this story where someone is after her later when they figure out she is helping with tracking the men that held her. So this story has action, emotions and is just a fantastic book all around, very much worth the read.

This was my first read by Jo Chambliss and after this one it will definitely not be the last! I have not read the books before this one in the series but it didn’t deter from the story for me. Now I’ll go back and start from the beginning.
Hawk had a horrible childhood but going into the military gave him the family he needed desperately but with war also brings tragedies that can haunt a soldier.
Cailyn is an oncology nurse that has been taking care of 2 lovely ladies for quite sometime. They have decided to spend what time they have left traveling to Europe and they bring Cailyn along with them. Things are going wonderfully for them until they are kidnapped in Madrid.
It will be up to Hawk and his team to get to them and rescue them before it’s too late.
I was really blown away by how much I loved this book!
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read a seat of your pants suspense military thriller!

Tyler “Hawk” Morgan has always been a man of few words. So when he gets verbal diarrhea explaining to his Commander how he has been searching for the missing American women, his Commander realizes that Hawk is not going to forget about them.

Caitlyn never thought that her accompanying her tow friends/patients on their trip to Europe would turn into the worst holiday ever. Being kidnapped and sold was not on the itinerary and neither was dying of thrust in the dessert.

If Hawk can find the women in time will he and his team be able to keep them safe and get them back the the US?

This was a wonderful read with a few twists I did not expect.

Bravo Jo! This was by far the best book I’ve read of yours! I’ve loved every story but this had such an achingly beautiful touch to it that I still feel after finishing it. Hawk and Cailyns souls spoke to each other from the beginning, but that’s definitely not all they would find in the end. Outstanding read! Highly recommended

Nevr disappointed with this authors books and this one is no exception. I like this book is not only about a man who lived thru mental trauma with his uncle after his mom died but turned into a fine young man and dedicated Seal. Cailyn is a caring nurse and takes care of her patients espcially two women who are in cancer treatment, who talk her into taking a trip with them. When the three are kidnapped, It's "Hawk" (Tyler) who is convinced something isn't right with the investigation. There is plenty of danger, bravery and first time love an complete trust. There's plenty of action, danger and selfless compassion. HEA.

This is book 5 in the Waterproof:Navy SEALs series and it can absolutely be read as a standalone. I, honestly, didn't realize this book was part of a series and read it just fine. Tyler “Hawk” Morgan had a hard childhood and it molded the man he is today. And not completing his mission and coming home with body bags instead doesn't sit right with him. He knows there are 3 other women still out there, he just has to find them. Cailyn is a nurse who put everything on hold in order to go with her 2 favorite patients to help them with their bucket list. But what was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime turns into her worst nightmare. Being kidnapped and trafficked is not part of the plan. And when her friends disguise her as a boy to try to protect her, she hears and sees things that she doesn't want anything to do with. Will Hawk be able to save them in time, or will the worst happen?

This is the first book by this author that I have read, but it won't be the last! I was sucked into this story right from the start. Hawk just never gives up! I loved that about him! He has his own issues just due to his childhood and they definitely defined him as adult. But honestly, they made him a better person. Cailyn is going into what all of us would consider a nightmare. But it doesn't change who she is at her core. She is this beautiful soul who wants to do the right thing and help people too. I loved her. This story was written in a way that you couldn't wait to see what happened next but you also wanted to cover your eyes because you knew it could go completely wrong. Definitely well worth the read and I will definitely be going back to read the other books in this series!

This is book five in The Waterproof: Navy Seals Series and it is Tyler (Hawk) and Cailyn's story and omg what an emotional story and a must read. Tyler's mother died when he was quite young and he had to go and live with her uncle who was mean, abusive and a nasty person and Tyler suffered at his hands for years and even though he is now a navy seal he still sometimes has nightmares that time in his life. Tyler lives on a boat and he can't stop thinking about there teams failed attempts of rescuing the five women that were kidnapped in Europe. Cailyn is a nurse in the cancer department and she has become friend's with two of her patient's Amy and Roberta so when they ask her to go to Europe with them all expenses paid she decided to go so that it either of became ill or them needed treatment she can be there for them but everything goes wrong when they are kidnapped. Tyler continues to do research on the other missing women as he can't give up on finding them so when he finds some of the answers that they need there team to go rescue them only Cailyn is the only one that they find alive but she is in such a bad way that they are not sure if she will make it but they will try there hardest. The information that Cailyn provides puts her life her in the line of fire and danger is all around them just waiting for the right moment, will they be able to outrun the danger and get a chance of a future together only time will tell. Omg I absolutely love this book so much and I think it is my favourite in the series so far even though I have loved every single book and I can't wait to read the next one. Jo Chambliss is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of their seats and the depth of her writing is what makes her books real page turner's that I couldn't put down and I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will definitely not be disappointed.

I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this Amazing and Emotional Book.

This is the first book I've read by Jo Chambliss and I really enjoyed it. This book is about Navy Seal Hawk and Cailyn, who was taken hostage while on vacation in Europe. If you are a fan of Susan Stoker, you will like this book as it is very similar to her books. I thought the writing was well done and the plot well thought out. I really wish we had heard more of Tyler's escape from his uncle, but other than that, I enjoyed the book. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy!

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but opinions expressed are my own. Soundproof is an action packed military romantic suspense novel. Tyler is drawn to Cailyn before he even meets her. He wants nothing more than to saver her and her friends. Cailyn and her friends are abducted while on holiday in Spain and they think all is lost. Cailyn is miraculously saved by Tyler and his Seal teammates, but this is not the end of her nightmare. The spark between Tyler & Cailyn is intense from the very start and things heat up between them very quickly. Tyler has survive a horrendous childhood and is intense, strong, quiet and honourable. Cailyn is strong, sweet, nurturing and survives and unbearable ordeal, but still wants to help others. This book is an action/love story and an enjoyable quick read. I haven’t read any other books by this author, but would recommend reading the other books in the series first as other team members stories are mentioned in this one.

"Never assume that loud is strong and quiet is weak" Unknown

Soundproof: a Military Romance Thriller is the fifth book in the Waterproof: Navy Seals series by Jo Chambliss. All books are standalone in the interconnected series with one couple per book, no cliffhangers and guaranteed HEA. It would also seem that the covers for the series have been updated. Personally, I preferred the previous covers, although I understand the appeal of a male cover model for romance books.

This book follows the story of Tyler "Hawk" Morgan and Cailyn Ridley as a couple. Hawk's childhood made him a quiet adult, and Riley's kidnapping ordeal gave her a new quietness. Yet, both these characters show strong determination and a sense of justice. This determination and sense of justice propel Hawk not to give up the search for the kidnapped women. It is also determination and grit that keeps Riley alive in the worst circumstances. At the same time, her sense of justice motivates her to give as much information on her kidnappers as possible - even while this puts her in danger.

In all this, both Riley and Hawk find their safe space with each other, finding comfort in the quiet of the other. This all sounds very philosophical - but in essence, this book is an action-packed, steamy romance well worth the read.

What an awesome romantic suspense book! I truly loved both Hawk and Cailyn. Both had very traumatic things happen and it was just wonderful to see how they were able to help each other and rise above all the 'bad'. This book has everything...military suspense, romance and character development. This was my first book from this author and I'm so looking forward to the next one! You won't be disappointed!

4/5
I would like to thank NetGalley, the Publishers, and the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Although I hadn't read the other four books in the series before reading this one, I still enjoyed it. The plot was clear without having read the other books, and I was completely glued to the page while reading. The characters were believable, and I loved hearing the couple's backstories to get a better understanding of their situation. While I would've preferred Tyler's backstory to be explained throughout the book, it was not a detraction from the narrative because it was written in an acceptable manner.

For the most part, the book is well-paced, and the twist was fantastic! Although I knew the big dramatic moment was coming, I had no idea what it would be!

There is no doubt that I will read more books by this author, including these earlier books. Following all the characters was a treat, and I am eagerly anticipating the next book!

Soundproof: a Military Romance Thriller by Jo Chambliss

This is the fifth book in the author's Waterproof: Navy Seals series. All I have to say is WOW how did I not know this author was out there in the military thriller/romance world? This was a action packed fly by the seat of your pants book from start to finish and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

Cailyn Riley is a oncology nurse who agrees to visit Europe with two of her patients Roberta and Amy but when they are kidnapped in Madrid after a flamenco show all three women will have to fight to survive. After two months in various camps Cailyn's ruse of being a boy is discovered and they are chained to a pillar left by the kidnappers with only a small amount of water. But it will only be one coming home when Hawk figures out where she is and his SEAL TEAM rescues her. But with her knowledge of conversations of the terrorists will the find the traitor in Madrid who helps the traffickers before they find her in Virginia and shut her up for good?

Tyler "Hawk" Morgan has a very abusive childhood with his uncle after his mother passes away. But it's the Navy SEALs and his team that brings him the family he craves. After only finding 2 of the American women kidnapped he knows that the Intel isn't adding up so he does some researching on his own. When his hunch is approved by Commander they are able to find the remaining 3 but it's Cailyn that catches his heart and will be by her side through all of the after action and when two terrorists attack them in Detroit on later on the marina. Will he be able to save her? Because he loves her more than anything.

A beautiful and heartfelt story of one Navy SEAL's quest to find three women despite their original unsuccessful attempt.

Cailyn Ridley works as an oncology nurse and is asked by two of her patients, Roberta and Amy, if she'd like to join them for their final trip around Europe, an end of life bucket list trip of sorts. After confirming she'll still have a job when she returns from her absence of leave, the three women set off on their travels.

They are having a fabulous time until they are suddenly kidnapped on their way home from a Flamenco evening in Spain. Roberta and Amy convinces Cailyn to pretend to be a boy, smears her face in dirt and dress her in male clothes from the rags provided by their captures. The rouse works as Cailyn is set to work as a house servant to the terrorist cell they now belong to.

A group of Navy SEALs are tasked with rescuing five women captured under similar circumstances. They manage to find the two other women, but they arrive too late. Told to return back to base, one of the SEALs, Tyler "Hawk" Morgan can't let go of the fact that they never managed to find even a trace of the other three women. He uses his spare time to track through surveillance data and eventually gets a break-through.

This is book 5 in the series, but can be enjoyed stand-alone. Read the other books in the series to find out more about the other Navy SEALs in Hawk's 'family'.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book and the storyline. I loved Cailyn and Tyler’s story and what both of them had to overcome. Both turned to each other in trying times and were made for each other. Loved the ending as well!
Great read and one I would definitely recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley, the Publishers and the Author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

In spite of not having read the other four books in this series, I was able to enjoy this really suspenseful romance. I didn't need to have read the other books to understand what was going on, and I was on the edge of my seat throughout reading this! The characters were believable, and I loved hearing the backstories of our couple for a bit of context. I think I would've preferred to have Tyler's backstory expanded and discussed throughout the book, but that's more of a personal preference and the way it was written in didn't detract from the narrative.

The book is well-paced for the most part, and the twist was really good! In spite of knowing the big dramatic point was coming, I didn't guess it which was great!

I will definitely be reading other books by this author, including the earlier books in this series. I loved following the entire cast of characters, and am really looking forward to the release of the next book!
