Sadly I couldn’t get this to work on Tim device. However I have since had a quick read of (some) of it in real life and think it’s a brilliant and unique idea!
This is a fantastic book with beautiful illustrations that helps impart powerful lessons to young (and old!) readers. Filled with super interesting facts and stories about the animal kingdom it's a very insightful, inspirational and engaging read.
I loved this! So cute! The children in my class have loved reading this! It has brought them a lot of joy and much needed self esteem boosts for some.
Roar Like a Lion is an uplifting and positive book, which I found to be inspirational from beginning to end. The beautiful illustrations and eye catching layout made it a joy to read. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.
This is such an uplifting children's book. It encourages the reader to take a leaf out of an animals book and learn how to embrace their own individuality and have a positive and resilient outlook on life and be 'the best YOU you can be!'
Animals can give us excellent advice and this book teaches us some important things we can learn from observing them.
There are chapters on 'finding your inner confidence', 'being yourself and 'finding resilience '
There are hundreds of examples through the book of animals doing all of these things. For example a Wallace flying frog is at most 10cm long but jumps up to fifteen metres way up in the jungle canopy. They don't think about falling...they just go for it!
The book is written in such a fun and humorous way and there are fantastic little diagrams and illustrations throughout making it very easy to read and dip into.
As well as learning how to develop important life skills we also learnt so many fantastic facts about a wide range of animals through reading this book.
This would be a very useful book to have in school libraries and classrooms promoting positive mental health.
This is the type of the book I wish I had when I was younger and I applaud the author for providing a children's book that is engaging whilst still giving so many life lessons. It feels like you are talking to them on their own level rather than being preachy or over simplified and I loved the choices of animals.
The illustrator also did a fantastic job with the art style, the way they have captured each individual animal with so much personality and style is brilliant. I also really enjoyed the colour pallette.
I would recommend this book to anyone with little ones, either to read to them or for them to read unassisted. It truly is a great book and something I do think is missing in the market.
This is such a good book and a great idea. It addresses issues around mental health for young people based on different animals. It is so accessible and thought provoking, raising serious issues without it seeming so formal.
I think this is a great book to have in schools to help young people start conversations around mental health.
