This is the first Trisha Ashley book that I have read, but one of my favourite authors, Heidi Swain, mentioned Trisha as one of her favourite authors, so I was very keen to discover her work and what better place to start than this festive treat. This book really is a magical Christmas Story with all the trimmings.

I was hooked from the first pages, especially once Dido and Henry arrived at Mitras Castle, I was captivated not only by all the different characters, as they arrived to enjoy one more Christmas at the Castle but by the sense of mystery surrounding Dido's heritage and who Sabine would leave the Castle and her estate to in her will . The wonderful descriptions of how Dido and Henry decorated the Castle in readiness for the big day and all the delicious treats they cooked and baked, had my mouth watering. The historical references and descriptions of the nearby Roman fort were interesting, especially as I have visited Northumberland on several occasions. The images the story evoked of the Winter Garden and ice skating on the frozen lake were magical. It really was my perfect Christmas all wrapped up in one enthralling story. Even though I was reading this book during warm weather in late Summer, it had me making several hot chocolates so I could capture a small part of the festive spirit myself. And I can't wait to read it again, once it is published, to cosy up and enjoy the full experience with my tree and house decorated, nibbling on delicious Christmas baked treats and drinking mulled wine in front of my roaring wood-burning stove.

I will definitely be working my way through the back catalogue of this lovely author's books now that I have discovered her delightful writing.

A festive treat full of Christmas spirit. Trisha Ashley is one of my favourite authors and this book doesn’t disappoint. I loved the plot line of the story and it was cleverly developed into lots of different strands. The Christmas atmosphere built up throughout the book and was delightful. And the food - my oh my!!! What a wonderful menu! I longed to be a guest at the Manor sitting down to all the amazing meals cooked up by Dido. The book got me right into a Christmas mood and I wanted to start cooking my own Christmas cake and pudding. In fact I just had to make some mince pies even though it was a warm sunny day! The characters were interesting and diverse, each one having their own backstory. The humour was spot on. I can’t wait for the book to be published to read the Christmas recipes ( I read a proof copy and they weren’t included at the end )
If you love Christmas, food and romance this book is definitely for you. I highly recommend it to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Dido & business partner Henry run Heavenly Houseparties, a company who provide everything you need for a party or special gathering.
They are asked to move to Mitras Castle for the month of December to organise a Christmas house party for elderly widow Sabine Powys.
After receiving a recent medical diagnosis Sabine has arranged the gathering to celebrate her last Christmas. Not having any children of her own she will use the time to decide which of her distant relatives will inherit her beloved castle.
Dido and Henry determine to do everything they can to make it as perfect as possible but when they arrive and discover Sabine’s Godson Xan staying there they are both shocked. Henry because he went to school with Xan and Dido because she had a teenage crush on him and is desperately hoping he won't recognise her.
As more of Sabine’s family arrive the tension increases and as long held secrets are uncovered Dido finds herself being drawn in.
A brilliant book to lose yourself in with strong,fun characters and a beautiful setting.

This book has all the makings of a wonderful Christmas novel, cosy manor house with open fires, winter gardens, traditional festive decor, and mouthwatering food! There's certainly a lot of intrigue and drama and though I felt some of the plot was predictable, I did enjoy the subterfuge and pantomime entertainment of it all.
I found Sabine a very difficult character to like, quite Miss Havisham, but I think that was kind of the point, the bitterness and snobbery was quite disturbing at times. I did feel disappointed that many of the other female characters were portrayed as such appalling human beings or judged as being half-witted, it did seem a bit unfair and disparaging, but that may be because of my personal preference for more of a feminist theme in books.
Overall a fun, festive romance if you enjoy wealthy family houses & inheritance themes.

This book was not your usual everyday Christmas book. It had loads of depth and story.
Dido and Henry run an elite catering company offering delicious house parties and catering.
They are not your everyday sausage roll and sandwich catering company.
When they are booked to cater for Sabine a rich widow in her castle in Northumberland they make friends
With some of the guests and weave their way through to Christmas.

I think this is my favourite ever Trisha Ashley Christmas story. The mix of characters is excellent and the storyline has lots of unexpected twists and turns. I found myself really caring about the main characters and hoping that things would work out for them. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a feel good Christmas read.

I enjoyed this book so much..

A definite comforting, heartwarming tale to settle down with during the winter. Set in Northumberland over the Christmas period so plenty of festivities. captured in a truly old fashioned Christmas house party. I did, however, find some parts of the book a little repetitive in places plus some of the dialogue seemed a little stilted and didn't flow naturally. Diverse characters well depicted even though some on the periphery seemed to get a little lost. A good seasonal read.

In my humble opinion it is never too early in the year to read a Christmas book. Nothing quite brings warmth to your spirit like tinsel, turkey and all the trimmings! Even on a balmy September day.

Elderly widow Sabine has been given the news that her health is in decline and she knows this will be her last Christmas. Without any children of her own, she is torn between knowing what to do with her family estate of Mitras Castle. So in hopes of having one last adventure she invites her remaining family members, close friends and her Godson Xan to spend the holidays with her. Trying to recapture the magic of Christmas gone by.

With her illness getting worse, and her housekeepers husband being ill after a stroke, she decides to get in caterers to help and calls in the services of Heavenly Houseparties, although it soon becomes clear that she has ulterior motives for hiring this particular firm.

Whilst I did enjoy the book there are a lot of characters and a lot of different storylines going on so it was sometimes a little drawn out and repetitive. I found both her planning and the book itself had a bit of a Agatha Christie, who done it vibe, without the actual murder. If it hasn't been for Henry and the Plum the dog entertaining personality and antics I may have given up on this book as it was just dragged out. I don't know how many times, we read the same lines regarding then having bacon for their breakfast, delivering the same tray of breakfast to Mrs Powys and feeding Plum his breakfast.

Set in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, the location of the book was amazing, and the castle and gardens sounded magical. I also love the cover it is such a good reflection of the book. The food also sounded amazing. However for me this was just mediocre, it's the first book I have read by the author and I have to be honest I am not sure I will rushing to read another.

Also I downloaded this book onto my kindle and there was quite a few errors, not sure if the book is still unedited or if it was a problem with my device but it also distracted me in place from what was going on.

I adore Trisha Ashley books but I have a very special love for her Christmas novels. They're always so full of festive feeling and they fill me with warmth and joy and all those good Christmassy feelings.

One More Christmas at the Case is no exception, in fact for me it's a return to form, reminding me of some of my favourite of Trisha's Christmas books, especially Twelve Days of Christmas. It's a delightful escape into a festive world, with a fun cast of characters, a delightful romance and a lot of Christmas cheer.

One More Christmas at the Castle was such a heartfelt hug in a book! It had some sad moments but it was so well written! Getting me in the Christmas spirit!

I love Trisha Ashley and especially her Christmas books with 12 Days of Christmas being my favourite Christmas book!
I was excited to read this and it didn't disappoint.
The story is similar to her other Christmas stories, with visitors to the house at Christmas and a story to be unraveled as I goes.
Highly recommend this book!!

This is another heartwarming Christmas romance from Trisha Ashley and I did enjoy reading it. This book has everything you need for a good Christmas story, lots of snow, good food, a castle filled with family slightly at odds with each other and some mystery and twists.

Sabine is the elderly and ill owner of Mitras Castle and as it's her last Christmas she is determined to make it special and reminiscent of her childhood ones; as well as putting her affairs in order. Dido and Henry run Heavenly Houseparties and they are engaged to make Sabine's wishes come true. I liked the characters a lot, they were a real mixed bunch and as such there are lots of personalities too. I liked Dido's common sense and honesty, Harry's humour and Xan's cheekiness. They are a really good cast of players in this mystery, romance.

I felt the story was reminiscent of Tricia Ashley's previous book Twelve Days of Christmas, which is one of my favourites, so I thoroughly enjoyed this one. This book is a lovely Christmas read and one I am sure I will re-read in future Christmas's too.

On the whole I liked the book however there were a number of issues which did not make it such a great read for me.

For instance, I could not get on board on the romance between Xan and Dido. There were no vibes between them and it was so rushed.

There were also too many characters involved which sometimes made too difficult to keep up.

Also, there were so many coincidences mentioned in the story and it seems to be quite unrealistic.

Also, the book was too descriptive. The reader got to know every single piece of food that the guests ate throughout the whole Christmas period... and it was a lot!

Sabine is an elderly lady who lives with her irritating niece and knows that due to illness she is not long for this world. Money is not a problem for her and after losing the love of her life, feels like she would like to unearth the skeletons in the cupboard before she departs this world. She decides to employ Heavenly Houseparties to cater to the household catering and cleaning whist giving her housekeeper an extended holiday to look after her ill husband. She has also decided to invite various family members and friends who are more than willing to spend Christmas with the old dear as they are all wanting a share of her fortune. However all is not as it seems and Sabine is still as sharp as a tack.

Another wonderful tale from Trisha Ashley. Set in a beautiful castle, it tells the tale of Dido & Henry who take on the role of looking after Sabine & her guests over Christmas. Sabine has some big decisions to make as to who will inherit the castle & this leaves the reader wonder which guest it will be.

Will make an amazing feel good Christmas read. I hope the real book has some of the recipes in, because it really inspires you to want to try some of the dishes Dido creates.

A story or love, friendship, drama, betrayal, tangles family politics and so much more all set in a lovely warm castle surrounded by snow. What more could you want. I really enjoyed this book. A lot of action takes place considering most of it is set during the month of December, but the throw backs to the past help with the understanding. Perfect to read with a warm drink and a cosy balnket.

Such a beautiful story that gave me all the feels. I hope to listen to this on audible come Christmas time.

Yet another fabulous 5 star festive read from Trisha. I was invested from the very first page and loved getting to know the castle in the run up to the big day and beyond.

The characters were beautifully written and well-rounded and the plot full of fascinating twists and turns.

I adored Henry, but it was Plum who stole my heart.
