I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
Vicar's daughter Rose Pedal starts a business called Pedals and Prosecco, selling ice-cold fizz from a vintage bicycle, but on the way to a wedding fayre is nearly knocked off her bicycle by the dashing James Blume of Blume's Florists.
Despite initially disliking him, Rose becomes increasingly smitten with James, but problems arise when a rival business starts up and James appears to be implicated. Then James's father, Geoffrey, and twin brother, Peter, are less than hospitable, making Rose doubt James's sincerity.
With help from her best friend, Megan, and her parents, Rose is determined to make her business a success, but has she jumped too hastily to conclusions where James is concerned?
This was a light-hearted and easy read from Florence Keeling, with a likeable main character and plenty of chuckles throughout. You will end up rooting for Rose and wanting her to get the best outcome.
I also liked the friends Rose makes along the way who all rally around her, enabling her to keep going despite the setbacks she encounters.
This would be a perfect holiday read, best enjoyed with a glass of Prosecco!
I received an ARC of this book from Simon & Schuster UK, in return for an honest appraisal.
This was a cute little romance. It was a little slow in the beginning, but all in all it was a fun read. 3 stars for me
Rose has just started a new business serving Prosecco from a vintage bicycle. On her way to her first ever wedding fayre she crashes, literally, into florist James.
Upon arriving at the wedding fayre James has stolen her spot on the lawn and Rose immediately gets her back up. However, as the wedding fayre season continues she and James start a friendship. Could it blossom into something more?
A lovely light-hearted romance.
A little in love was a charming read. A good old fashioned 'will they, won't they' romance filled with as much fun and sparkle as the bubbles in Rose's prosecco. Perfect escapism, best enjoyed with a glass of fizz!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I found the first part of this book very slow and I struggled. The second part is better.
Even if I enjoyed the second part I wasn't a fan of the characters and the story fell flat.
Not my cup of tea.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
I fell more than a little in love with this perfect romance. It’s tender and charming and totally engrossing with a ‘will they, won’t they’ relationship at its heart.
This is one of those really cute country romance books. Another great hate to lovers type romance.
Premise:
Rose Pedal is the proud owner of Pedals & Prosecco, a brand new business serving ice-cold fizz from a vintage bicycle, and she’s excited to be attending her first wedding fayre. But, on the way to Weddington Hall she’s involved in a near miss crash involving dashingly handsome James from Blume’s Florist.
Arriving at the beautiful stately home drenched and disheveled, Rose is horrified to find James is not only not sorry for nearly knocking her off her bike, but he’s gatecrashing her allocated spot on the lawn. His arrogance gets her back up and it’s definitely a case of hate at first sight. But as the wedding fayre season continues, James gently wins Rose over, and their relationship starts to bloom.
It was very cute watching the slow burn of James and Roses relationship blossom through out the book. A very sweet and light easy read especially to wrap up the summer.
This is one of those books that you could curl up with a glass of wine (or prosecco) in your pjs and just devour in one sitting.
I think I've probably read way too many romance books as for me it was a little predictable but none the less very good. Just what you need if you need something light to curl up with after a bad day.
Thank you Netgalley for this early copy.
This is such a sweet, easy read; I really enjoyed it! There are quite a few hurdles in the way for our main characters, but as the saying goes, the course of true love never runs smooth. We see overbearing parents, scheming exes, theft, and mistaken impressions, and yet through it all the story keeps its lightheartedness, and is a great read for on holiday.
Didn't enjoy this as much as other similar books. Dragged a little. Still worth a read though. .
A lovely tale set around wedding fayres.. What is there not to like! Rose is trying to set up her unique business and protect her heart, when she is swept away by a James, who helps run a successful family florist. Misunderstandings and dastardly family members make this love story take twists and turns. Friendships shine and rally round Rose when she needs them but will love conquer all?
I really enjoyed reading this and it was a light read, just perfect for a summers evening with twinkly lights all around.
I received an advance copy of, A Little in Love, by Florence Keeling. This is a cute love story, in a nice setting.
Rose has started a new business, and just as things start to be going her way, trouble appears. Is it to do with James, the man she thought she was falling for?
A great summer read.
I really wanted to love it but the main character was just like an overgrown child who couldn’t rely on herself in any way shape or form and the villains of the piece were pure pantomime
Rose is the daughter of the local vicar John Petal and his wife Janet. She has dropped out of her studies and moved back home. When her part time job in the off-licence comes to an end when the shop closes, she has an idea to serve wedding drinks from a trailer on a vintage bicycle and calls her business “Pedals and Prosecco”.
At the first wedding fayre, she meets James Blume, the son of the successful florists. When she first meets him and he almost runs her off the road, she isn’t impressed, but soon things change.
This is a sweet, cozy, feel-good story set in a little village where the main industry is weddings. The various vendors help each other and support each other. A cute, light and easy read 🥂
