I LOVE this series of books and I was not disappointed with the latest instalment. They are easy, but informative reads and the artwork is spectacular. They did a fairly good job trying to represent athletes around the world but 10 of the 25 were from the USA. I can’t wait to share this book with my daughters.

A special thank you to NetGalley for sharing this digital copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Another incredible book from Rebel Girls.

This is perfect for any child who has got curious about the postponed Olympics and Para-Olympics that have taken place this year.

Filled with information about some of the greatest female Champions of various sports you learn about their successes and their background, what got them into the sport etcetera. I strongly believe that there will be a child out there who will read Rebel Girl Champions and want to be in the X-Games or Olympics one day thanks to this book.

Rebel Girls have found their niche in the world of nonfiction for children with their wonderfully illustrated books that as I've said before belong on every bookshelf out there to help educate and influence children of any gender into finding their true self. With Champions, I liked that it was right up to date as of August 2021 with winners at the Tokyo Olympics, as well as those who won medals in their sports in thr last few decades.

Congratulations on another guaranteed success Rebel Girls.

I love this book! It is so great to encourage women and girls in sports! The artistry in this book was well beyond my expectations. As a Canadian I particularly loved Brigette Lacquette's story! These are the kind of heroes I want my niece to know because unlike the Avengers, these women run the world and are real life Wonder Women!

The story of Hidilyn Diaz had me nearly getting misty. She is such a hero to myself and I am glad that she is getting the recognition that she deserves.

As women in sports are so underrated, undervalued and underappreciated, this book encourages girls to look at how magnanimous these beautiful souls are and to give girls hope and to aspire to achieve goals in sports. The concept that if you believe you can achieve anything is absolutely beautiful!

I will be purchasing this one for all my friends who have children!

Another installment in the Rebel Girls series, this presents a one page story of each featured athlete and an accompanying illustration. I like that the illustrations have the author listed on them rather than at the end as in some prior books.

Despite having a lot of US athletes, there are diverse, international, and even paraplegic athletes featured, so there is something for everyone. I think there may have been a factual error in the first story (or there is a poorly worded sentence at the end.) Note that my copy was an incomplete review copy and that several of these stories have been featured in prior books.

Rebel Girls Champions is one of the coolest books ever! I love the rebel girls series so this was another fun read. I loved the stories of these powerful women told in just simple manner that anyone can read it. I will recommend this book to all my little cousins. I love the illustrations in this book alongside the stories. Everyone should buy this for their children/cousins/siblings or read them or themselves!

Thank you Netgalley for providing me the ARC for this book. Rebel Girls Champions was such a cute book filled with colourful illustrations of women athletes that are sure to appeal to children. It was such an adorable read filled with motivational stories of strong women in sports, especially in the Olympics, and even includes activities at the end to engage with the readers. I would definitely recommend this book to children as it is sure to charm them! However, most of the athletes included were women from the United States, and that was my only critique of this fun, illustrated book.

Rebel Girls Champions is a great children's book to inspire girls and young women in sports. It sheds light on some of the Olympic competitors along with other sports stars of all kinds of obstacles that these girls and women have overcome to arrive at their achievements. I would highly recommend this book.

This Rebel Girls book features sixteen articles from previous volumes, while my preview copy had space optimistically for nine more to be rushed out in response to what it slightly erroneously calls the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. But much more in error is the idea that it took seventy years for women to get into the Games, as the first article here alleges – athletics started in 1928, and that was by no means the first events for the gender. If 'both genders playing in every sport' is the idea, then someone needs to brush up their writing (I know that's rich coming from me, but it's true). Also, with this volume being the umpteenth in the franchise, I think fatigue is setting in, however worthy it all is. For me the whole idea that x amount of articles can be generated (complete with their own full-page, drawn-by-women-only illustrations, and pull-quotes) from one Olympics, whatever the results, proves that from now on you can expect people to be on these pages by pre-planned consensus, and not by merit. Updates to Simone Biles' page (good luck with that!) and hopefully for Sky Brown's too do show the whole idea of Rebel Girls – of successful, wonderful people to idolise and look up to emulating – to be a fluid, ever-changing one, but don't plan how many there are going to be before they've justified their entry.

I just love the Rebel Girls series. Each time I read a new RG book, I learn about so many incredible, empowering women! The books are obviously geared towards children, but they are so educational and truly inspiring. I feel like they do a great job at choosing which women to highlight... they include women of different backgrounds, races, and ethnicities. They also highlight women who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as an athlete that competes in the Paralympics!

The Rebel Girls series is a must have, especially for little girls. It provides them with a variety of great role models, and the representation of different backgrounds shows little girls that they can be extraordinary as well.

This is such an inspiring book. Reading about the stories of some of the most successful athletes and having such an amazing representation, made me so proud of these women who have worked so hard to be recognized. This is a book that i think all girls need to read.
Thank you to netgalley for this advanced copy. Looking forward to buying a physical copy once it comes out.

What an inspiring book! Rebel Girls Champions tells the stories of 25 unstoppable athletes. The sports range from everything from dressage to skateboarding and each page features a story and accompanying illustration. I appreciated how all of the illustrations were done by women and the artistic styles were varied. There is a great mix of younger athletes as well as the trailblazers who came before them.

The women in this book all deserve to be celebrated. I love the representation present here and how even though this book is meant for young girls they don’t shy away from heavy topics such as racial injustice, gender equality, LGTBQ+ rights and refugee crises.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy. I will be recommending this to all of my friends who are raising strong rebel girls of their own.

Wow! This book is full of inspiration. Whatever sport a rebel girl might be interested in, she can find a role model here. Included are women who play sixteen sports in all, everyone from Serena Williams (tennis) to Simone Biles (gymnast) to Ismita Malaviva (surfer) and others including Lisa Leslie (basketball), Megan Rapinoe (soccer),Tegan Vincent-Cooke (Para dressage rider) and quite a few more.

Each athlete has her story told in two pages. One features text while the other has a gorgeous illustration and quote.

There are a number of activities included at the end of this title as well. For example, there are “write your story”and “what kind of champion are you?”

Note that the final edition of the book may reflect additional information from the Olympics.

I found this to be a wonderful book. Get it for a child in your life. You will both enjoy it.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.

Rebel Girls is a series that never ever disappoints – and this book is no exception. “Rebel Girls Champions” features women athletes covering a wide range of sports, from surfing to ski mountaineering, basketball to skateboarding. The narrative is engaging, balanced in equal measure by catchy quotes from the athletes. Definitely looking forward to buying a hard copy once it is available in early September.

We are such fans of these books. This made a lovely few nights bedtime stories, coupled with watching the olympics we’ve became quite knowledgeable about these rebel girl inspirations.
This was such a satisfying read for me and my two girls.

I received this book for free for an honest review from netgalley #netgalley

A great quick read and great to have LGBT athletes in middle grade books too. Great with the Olympics on.
