Thank you for the free ARC!
I really enjoyed reading it. It was a simple read with a sweet story.
I liked the fact that Florence put her family first and would do anything to keep the family business.
The ending was not really what I was expecting, but I loved it.
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. The premise of this book is what interested me and I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers but I struggled to get through this book.
I found that it picked up for me around the 65% mark. I wanted more interactions between Florence and Samson to build the tension between them. There was one moment where they had some fun banter between them but that was it — I just wanted more. I just felt that with their little interactions I didn’t really understand their attraction to each other and their relationship seemed forced. I feel like if this book was a little longer to allow for more meaningful interactions and more witty banter it would have made their relationship more convincing.
This was super lovely! It was a nice, quick read but didn't feel under-developed or under-written. This book is charming and cozy, and was exactly what I was hoping for based on the title and description.
After being fired from her barista job in Portland, Florence MacKenzie returns to her small hometown of Windia on the coast for the holidays. She helps out in their family coffee shop, lovingly nicknamed the Yurt by the town's residents. Shortly after arriving, she discovers that another coffee shop is trying to take over... none other than the son of the company that fired her. When the Yurt is forced to try a new coffee blend, suddenly the town is going crazy for coffee. When new and unexpected couples start falling in love, the slogan on their new coffee takes on new meaning, "There's magic in every bean". Has the Yurt been serving up a love spell to the whole town? Is this the cause of her attraction to her rival, Samson Richards?
This snuggly holiday romance is perfect to cuddle up with on a cold day with your favorite cup of coffee. The rivalry between the MacKenzie ladies and Sam is laugh-out-loud funny at times and great fun. I wish my small town had The Yurt too.

This was too cute. My first witch book in the romance genre and I couldn't have picked a cuter one to start with. I especially loved the coffee shop references and the fact that it took place in the Pacific Northwest. A swooney romance that's sure to Delight
I received this book as an eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I loved all the characters and the plot had me so invested. I couldn’t stop reading and I really wish I could experience this book a second time. I loved that this book had a third person POV and how detailed the descriptions were. This book reminded me so much of fall and I’m definitely going to reread this book!
(I posted this review on my Goodreads too).
I read until the 50% mark and then decided to just be done. I really wanted to love this book based on the premise and fun cover, but the writing just never clicked for me. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but I just found myself skimming through or reading a page over and over because it didn't hold my focus. Honestly though?? This is very likely a ME thing! I'm in the mood for a romance and this just felt more like a Women's Fiction book. If I had known that, I would've saved this book for a time when I was in the mood for WF.
While I didn't love this one, I think there are plenty who will so give it a chance and see for yourself!
Super cute novella that had faint Sarah Addison Allen vibes. Recommend for a quick, light-hearted read.

Witchy Coffee is a delightful read with love, magic, and coffee. It is an easy read that is perfect for the holidays! I gave Witchy Coffee 2 stars because I felt detached from the characters. The POV unexpectedly changed between characters during chapters without warning and the love between Florence and Samson seemed forced. There was no buildup or chemistry between them.
Overall the It's an easy and charming book, however, don't expect any emotional attachments.
Florence Mackenzie was fired from her job just in time for Christmas. She returned to Win for Christmas and helped out in her family's coffee place. Samson Richards was in Windia to scout the area for his own coffee shop. He wanted to buy off the Mackenzie's coffee shop, but the Mackenzie women were determined to keep their shop and chase Samson away from Windia. Everything started to change when Florence used a new coffee blend - one with magic in every bean, making everyone falling in love. Business started booming, making the Mackenzies even more eager to get rid of Samson. But both Florence and Samson drank the coffee at the same time and was under the spell of the coffee bean.
Erin Ritch has one kind of an imagination to think and write this book. It is a romantic book, but with a witchy twist to it, which I find is very refreshing. It doesn't fully follow the cliche I usually find in romantic books. But I did find myself waiting for when the magic coffee bean would make an appearance. Ritch wrote it in such a subtle way. It puts the readers on the same page as the characters - they didn't realise it was happening until they started seeing something different. I would probably have preferred more magic (like fireworks or some sort) but the way Ritch wrote it works perfectly fine too. Loved reading this book!
Don’t judge a book by its cover. I can’t blame the book for this piece, but I was convinced I was going to read a cute autumn set book. I was wrong. It’s set in the winter. Besides that, this was a cute hallmark like book. The magic elements were a little hit or miss for me, but overall it was a quick, easy, and slightly entertaining read. I just can’t get over a child being named Diana.
witchy coffee was a fun quick read perfect if you need a book to relax. i enjoyed the setting of a small town in the pacific northwest and the fact that the story revolves around two coffee shops competing against each other. unfortunately the romance and the characters did suffer from the length, or better, the fact that the book was so short and because of that they didn't feel too fleshed out.
Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book in return for an honest review.
Rating: 3⭐
Witchy Coffee is set in Oregon where Florence has gone back to her hometown for the Christmas/New Years holiday after she has just lost her job so she ends up working at her family coffee shop, The Yurt. I really liked the witchcraft aspect of it as while it was there, it wasn't the sole focus to the point of it being a paranormal book. With Sam coming into it, it creates good enemies to lovers trope but I do wish there was a little more interaction between the two characters where it shows them getting to know each other a little more. I also found one small part at the end cheesy but it was still good!
Would I Read It Again? I am not sure but I will probably read more from the author
Would I Recommend it? Yes
This was a fun read! It was magical, fun, and whimsical. It made me want to curl up in a blanket with a cup of ~witchy coffee~ and read all day long. It also made me want to take a trip to the Pacific Northwest!
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this story.
Our main character, Florence, returns to her hometown for a break and helps the women in her family successfully run and keep the coffee shop from getting into the hands of Samson, whose father owns a big coffee franchise. Full of magic, family shenanigans and a little bit of loveeee.
Now there was technically nothing wrong with this story but.. it just lacked and was missing many things. There’s was a few plot holes but I didn’t take those too seriously. However, some things didn’t feel quite right and made this whole novel feel uncomplete.
There was supposed to be this romance aspect in this but there really wasn’t? I wish the book would have been a little longer to give us more of a romantic storyline for Samson and Florence.

I loved this book! Sometimes I crave a feel good, light or slightly hallmark-y book, and this hit the spot. I mean a coffee shop, the holidays and witches all in one?? Sounds like the perfect book in my opinion. I adored all the characters, and the food and coffee descriptions made my mouth water. I can see myself picking this up again and again when I need a comforting, happy read!
* f/m romance
* rivals to lovers / enemies to lovers
* small town
* magic theme
* quick read
Tw: grief, mention of brother and mother's death
Florence MacKenzie is a barista who is fired from Sam's 'Spresso. She returns to the small town where she grew up to run the family business. When a handsome man in a suit appears in their coffee shop and offers them to buy this place, MacKenzie women reject him. By reject, I mean beat him with spatula and throw cookie at him. As it turns out later, he is none other than the son of Florence's former boss.
Florence will do anything to protect her family, even if it means using magic and competing with a handsome and annoying man.
I loved the family dynamic. The MacKenzie women were so supportive but also messy and hilarious. I wish this book was longer and romance between Florence and Samson more developed. The switch pov in the middle of the chapter made me confused.
Overall, it was sweet and charming book about power of family and women's friendship with a little bit of magic.
Thank you NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I devoured this charming, cozy book, which is as sweet as the coffees served up in The Yurt. It's the perfect antidote to the many stresses and worries of our times. I was sorry when it ended, as I would have liked to stay in that world much longer.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an unedited ARC in exchange for this honest review.
I really enjoyed this book! It's a quick read, I read it in one sitting. I loved the backstory of Florence's family and the dynamics between her, Pearl, Mia and Diana. But the love story between Florence and Samson was a bit unbelievable, I didn't feel their chemistry at all. And the ending was quite abrupt. Overall I rate it 3.5/5 stars.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the author, for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was cute but boring. It honestly read like a young adult novel. I would have loved more competition aspects between Florence and Samson, making their connection a little more believable and providing a little more sustenance in the book.
This is nice only if you’re looking for a very cozy read that you can enjoy in front of a fire while waiting for cookies to finish baking.
