Wow what a fabulous read I absolutely loved this book t is a unique well crafted novel something a bit different from others I’ve read recently
The setting is mysterious and I loved the way that the explanation as to why the two characters are living in this primitive Croft is slow in coming and that the pill machine isn’t explained early on .The limitations the machine places upon the characters is revealed slowly as we are drip fed the information we need until we finally can put all the clues together
I loved the yan tan tether and metronome analogies for time passing they work brilliantly and add to the tension throughout
As a reader I was watching the story unfold to its horrific conclusion as if I was watching from behind my sofa ,unable to put the book down
The book has a highly dramatic quality which I feel sure would make a fantastic play or film and I’m sure the rights will be grabbed up
