Culture Built My Brand equips you to understand and invest in your culture so your brand can stand out. It guides you in understanding the connection between your company's culture and how balancing trust can lead to employees who turn out to be the brand advocates you need. Mark Miller and Ted Vaughn, use real business examples to get you to ask the right questions for you to answer about your company. It is a book that will serve as a guide just as much as a workbook, and to me, that's the best kind of book to get you to make the proper changes and breathe fresh life into your brand.

The LAST book you need to read on branding!

I truly believe that.

Why?

Because the most important thing that builts your brand, is your company itself. The employees and the company culture to be more precise.

Culture Built My Brand provides you with an actionable blueprint to developing your company culture in a way that it supports your brand message!

The authors developed this book from years of experience with their consulting firm Historic Agency, where they have helped countless companies to improve their culture and brand.

I love the book because it provides very simple but effective ways to create the culture you desire.

There are really helpful tools, questions and checklists in the book that bring some structure and clarity to this often misunderstood topic.

Some of my key learnings were:
▪️"Your brand isn't what you say it is. It's what you do."
▪️ "Your culture determines how your employees act, the decisions they make, and the quality of their work."
▪️ "[...] employees need behavior-based principles that give them a crystal-clear understanding of how to behave to elevate the brand and differentiate it from the competition."
▪️ "Culture is what you allow. Anytime you tolerate unacceptable behavior, it shows your people what they can get away with."
▪️"Incentivize the counterintuitive behaviors that your culture needs to accelerate the brand."
▪️ and many more!

I highly recommend this book to any entrepreneur, executive or other person involved in a leadership position, branding or similar!

A business how-to that takes a different approach to a common problem. These authors painstakingly make out a strong case that culture is at the core of every company's success or failure.

This book starts with a solid introduction and ends with a firm conclusion. This is a very scholarly approach that is rarely seen in today's writings.

Each chapter is well laid out to allow the reader to get the most out of the information. They start each with a section titled 'What You Learn in This Chapter'. Each chapter ends with a handy 'Key Takeaways' section. With this approach, a business can key on a specific chapter as the need exists.

If there is any issue here, it is that this is a touch wordy in its approach. This could make it difficult for every business owner to get the most out of this work.

The authors also include handy downloadable pages to allow a reader to work as they read. This will allow a keen student of this book to get the most they can out of the work.

A very valid addition to the business how to section. The real-life examples of successes and failures help make this book more approachable. Personally, I saw many of the mistakes I witnessed in my office career highlighted here. An important book for business owners to read, or task someone to read for them.

Disclaimer: I received a copy from the authors in the hopes I'd review it.

My Rating: 5 stars
