Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced electronic copy of this beautiful book. In a child-friendly language this stunningly illustrated book points out different sounds in nature and at home. At the end of the book there is an explanation about how sounds are made. Can’t wait to share this book with my students!

What an imaginative way to teach the concept of sound. Beautiful illustrations! I could almost hear the sounds and picture myself in these scenes as I came across each image!

Stunning illustrations. Absolutely beautiful. The words are simple, and paired with the art, they’re just perfect. At the end, the writer asks the reader to pause and listen, encouraging us to pay attention to all the sounds around us. Definitely for children, but goodness those illustrations are for everyone.

This is such a cute little children's book, which has beautiful writing and artwork, to explain some of the different sounds that are all around us. My daughter and I loved it, and we are now more aware of looking for the different sounds that are surrounding us all the time. The book shows how different sounds are made, different types of sounds, the different types of sounds that are with us in different seasons, and different activities we can try out. It is a great little book!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved the book What Sounds Do You Love? From the second you open the book the illustrations and colors suck you in. You can hear the sounds without even reading the words, because the pictures are truly beautiful and perfect for what they are describing. I would recommend this to those with younger kids and even older kids. My 9 year old saw it and immediately was drawn in and wanted to go draw afterwards because she was inspired. The words are simple but perfect to match the pictures and give you just enough to keep your focus on the illustrations and sounds your brain is hearing just looking at them. The book is truly wonderful. I wasn't ready for it to end. Looking forward to checking out other books done by them.

This book evokes sounds we all know and it's incredible how it does it in a pretty simple way.
I loved the specificity and how the images connect to the sounds presented, focusing on the source of the sounds. It's a great reflection!
I think I would love it to be longer though, and also wish it had more variety. It's very focused on the seasons and as I am a foreigner who does not live in a climate like this, it'd be great to have more environments touched upon, like school, sidewalk, etc. Just a personal wish though, nothing that affects my rating of the book. Great for kids and very nostalgic for adults haha <3

A lovely picture book about favorite sounds, with a cute little character as a guide. The illustrations are colorful and humorous. The story is followed by some activities to bring little ones awareness to the sounds in their environment. Wonderful for very young children.

I loved this book!! I work in audio so it was lovely to see a simple kids book to start the conversation about the sounds around us and which sounds we like/dislike. Absolutely beautiful and rich illustrations too.

First of all, I adore the illustrations, the colour palette and the tiny character in this lovely book. Children would be more aware of the sounds they hear after reading this book. Wonderful!

This book has wonderful vibrant illustrations and is prefect for preschool age children up to grade 2. It highlights sounds of the seasons and sounds that are found all around you....if only you listen! The book encourages kids to open up their ears and tune into the audio wonderment of our world. The author goes deeper with sound at the end of the book. He explains: what is a sound, encourages kids to go on a sound walk, and to create mystery shakers which is a sound game to play. I love the book and highly recommend it.

This book would be an absolute asset as an addition to my kindergarten classroom. The amount of text on the page is developmentally appropriate, the images are beautiful and engaging, and the style of writing and topic of the book both leave openings for many educational conversations. I would love this as a way to introduce the sense of sound in our five senses unit.

Really enjoyed this sweet book reminding us all to take an unplugged moment and be mindful, and tune into what we can hear in our surroundings. I don’t think I’ve ever thought about my favorite sounds and now I want to collect some - crunching snow, dropping a pebble in a stream, big cracks of firewood…
Throughly loved this one from its writing to it’s bold illustrations

This is the first children's book that I have requested and read and it was an excellent choice for my younger brother. My younger brother is not very much of a reader, so I wasn't sure what if any books he would be interested in.
He enjoyed this book a lot and even told me that he wouldn't mind getting this book in the future to read which is high praise from him.
On my side, the illustrations of this book was fantastic and I still managed to teach my brother some new words as well.
Definitely recommend this for kids who are learning to read or you want to ease them into reading.

What Sounds Do You Love has gorgeous illustrations and spare text, making it a great option for a readaloud or a Storytime. There are times to be quiet and listen, and times to practice our best lion roars.

A round creature with big eyes thinks about its favourite sounds in each season and each time of day: "In autumn... / I love the crinkle, crackle dry leaves make when I walk." This is the perfect way to start a conversation or lesson about the senses, favourite sounds, musical instruments, etc. Simple but very effective.

There's some back matter also that talks about how sound is produced, and suggests sound-based activities to try.

This book is lovely. I love reading about all the different sounds, at different times of the day or seasons. This book has beautiful illustrations and lovely words. I think this will be a big hit with children and adults when discussing sounds. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Short and sweet, the illustrations and sounds perfectly match the seasons or times of day they go with and there’s a lot to look at (and talk about) in the illustrations. There are also activities at the end to expand on a child’s knowledge of sound.

Wow, what a beautifully illustrated book!

The choice of subject is great, and the whole book comes to life thanks to the catchy colours. This book provides plenty of opportunities to listen to the sounds of the nature and your surroundings together with your children. My 3.5-year-old is a bit young for the activities at the end of the book but we had so much fun exploring and guessing different sounds in the house and the garden. Sounds are the source of simple joy in life - thanks for reminding me!

I am grateful for NetGalley and Chouette Publishing for this lovely ARC.
