Julie you did it again, you captivated me from the first page with your world building and character development. Another must read from you and you have securred an always buy and read when new work comes out

A mediocre book from a beloved author. I did enjoy the different aspects of this book (such as Philippine Martial Arts) and she does know how to write a good fight scene. That being said, I just couldn't get into the story like I did for her other books. This book just had a different feel to it than the others, no real sense of humor, no sense of "doom" unless the trio of besties save themselves and the world. I just didn't connect with the characters like I had in previous ones. That being said, Ms. Kagawa is a great author and I have great respect for her. I just think this one missed the mark a little.

I heard great things about this author and wanted to try her out. I quit this book pretty quickly because the writing style isn't for me.
