Really great insight on the topic as a mother with a child with autism this was a very interesting read.
I enjoyed this book very much, it was a different look into the world of autism. Hopefully it will help neurodiverse people to understand why they are the way they are, and neurotypical people to help them find their way in the world!
This was my first introduction to the idea of the Son-Rise program, I had not heard of it before but my opinions on it from Kate Wilde's views and experiences have led me to think of it as a positive program for Autistic children. I think all children to be honest can benefit from this loving program because it just creates a level of understanding in support and strengthens communications with each other. I cannot wait to recommend it because I do think if you are taking your child to early intervention, as a parent you may feel left out because the early intervention, in some places, does not include the families, so based on Kate Wilde's Autistic Logistics book this is very useful and will help those families create benefits when experiencing life with their child.

From what I could read, many of the ideas and suggestions seemed to be helpful and things I could implement as a parent of a child on the spectrum. The writing was at times a little too clinical for the average reader or parent.
I’ve recently been looking into autism in adults, particularly women, so this book was a useful counterpart to this. My experience is with adults who have reached adulthood without realising they are autistic, either because they’re female so don’t present typically, or because they’re very good at masking. So it was very easy to read about the typical signs, and how to be with/around children who struggle from an early age.
If I had to recommend just one book to parents of neurodiverse children this would be it! An utterly fantastic book, that manages to both convey empathy with the struggles that will resonate with many parents, while helping us to enter the world of our special children and offer real practical strategies.
Tackling topics such as sleep, nutrition, transitions and how to talk to your child (to name just a few), each chapter finishes with a summary 'checklist' to refer back to that can be used as an action plan.
I 100% recommend this book, and as a reader I found it both accessible pleasurable to read, recognising the joy and celebrating the uniqueness of our neurodiverse children.
My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy
So many books about autism or spectrum disorders are written like textbooks and lack human warmth and empathy. This book is definitely does not fall in that category. Tons of of information on very specific topics and strategies to help parents and caregivers put what they’ve learned into action.
As a therapist who works with children on the spectrum regularly, this book has been so informative and I cannot wait to use some of the information in my daily practice! Highly recommend!
Well researched book, with plenty of examples, and most importantly, some strategies. Written with understanding, warmth and most of all, care and love, Autistic Logistics is a useful resource for teachers, parents and guardians, social workers, medical providers, and others that work with people with autism. As a foster carer, I found this book very useful. Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.
As the parent of a little boy with an autism diagnosis I find myself reading different books relating to autism regularly, both non fiction and fiction.
This is a great book, well written not too wordy but lots of facts.
The author is very knowledgeable and this comes across in a friendly helpful manner.
I have already recommended this to a few parents and school staff whom I think will find it useful.
This was a really insightful and thought provoking read and really touched me. I didn’t realise how much parents with autistic children had to take in until reading this. While it is non fiction I did feel the intense sadness at some points and it really did it for me. In the future if I ever need to reference anything I would for sure come right here. I really did love this!,
