This was original, weird but managed to be sweepingly romantic, relatable and lovely at the same time. I'm very very impressed!

Wow! What an incredible book! Impossible is smart, funny, and completely compelling; the characters are just *chef’s kiss* and the plot absolutely ingenious! I will be recommending this to everyone

Sadly I did not enjoy this book. I heard wonderful things and my friends raved about it but it didn't click with me. There is a great premise and the twist is excellent but I found the emailing and characters really off-putting.

This was nothing like I expected! A love story with a difference, I was hooked until the very last page. Can't say more as spoilers would be terrible. Fab.

As with the title, this book is almost impossible to review, without giving away any spoilers
In the beginning of the book, we are introduced to Bee, a girl who goes on endless, unsuccessful tinder dates. Bee works as a seamstress, recycling womens wedding dresses.
One day she randomly receives an email from Nick, a failed writer in a failed marriage, chafing for payment for his later job
From the first email error, a friendship blooms, what the reader can quickly tell is going to turn into something else
However, these two people can never meet, so what will become of them

I disliked Nick in the book and found it hard to connect to his chapters. I do think the book could have been a little bit shorter. At times, I felt like not much was happening
That said, this book is a truly unique concept, one that the writer mastered perfectly
I did worry that the ending was going to ruin everything, but the writer handled it perfectly.

This book will be loved by fans of One Day, PS I Love You, The Time Travellers Wife, A Walk to Remember

Thanks for the copy of Impossible by Sarah Lotz, I've just got around to reading it and really enjoyed the impossible love story of Bee and Nick! Hooked from the start and couldn't put it down.,

Clicked more with Bee than I did Nick, but even then I didn't find myself desperate by any means to read her chapters. Really wasn't a fan of Nick, found his lack of ambition more frustrating and less relatable.

A very unusual love story !
The characters of Nick and Bee are strong and well written. A story of substance, heart warming and heart breaking at the same time . Pure escapism and a brilliant read

Impossible by Sarah Lotz was a clever storyline with a sci-fi bent but very credible characters. Initially I struggled to keep reading, thinking it was going to be too far fetched. Sarah managed, however, to bring together physics, spirituality and current events/trends seamlessly. I quickly loved the characters and had to see how things played out (I probably preferred Nick too). This is a nice twist on a rim-com with many references to other books/film plots interwoven. A good yarn with a decent ending. Four stars

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for approving me for this arc

The concept of this is really good, and it was very well executed I loved the whole plot.

I really enjoyed how the characters were written and the development of them.

The narrative was portrayed as ideally as it could be which I found very refreshing!

Highly recommend

I had seen rave reviews, and while I enjoyed the story and whipped through quite quickly, I felt something was missing.

Nick (a writer) and Bee (eco-friendly fashion designer) find each other through a random email exchange. They quickly find an mental and emotional connection and cant wait to meet. But a physical connection is impossible .... a quirk of fate reveals that they exist in different dimensions and email is the only way they can connect.

What did I love? Courageous attempt with a novel story line - finding love across dimensions. She explored how the relationship could develop, and the repercussions as they try to connect with their alter selves. I also liked hints of parallel world building - how each dimension and their alternative self evolves. The story unfolded at a good pace, was an easy read and was mostly unpredictable.

What was missing? I struggled to find Nicks character believable and his dialogue lacked masculinity. The plot twists were subtly handled so that nothing felt like a surprise.

Overall, it was a sweet rom-com with a different twist.

[Much thanks to NetGalley for access to this story in exchange for an honest review]

Absolutely loved this gorgeous, intelligent and suspenseful romance, featuring a great array of characters and packed with twists.

Told in a part epistolary style from the dual perspectives of Nick and Bee, who meet accidentally over a mistyped email and instantly hit it off. Nick is a failed writer living in Leeds while Bee runs her business repurposing wedding dresses from her flat in London.

When they finally decide to meet, things turn out to be much more complicated than they expected.

After a stray email ends up in the inox of the wrong person, Nick and Bee end up exchanging messages and developing an online relationship. However, once they try to meet in person their entire world turns upside down and everything they thought they knew was called into question.
This was an unusual read, I was expecting more of a romance but the hurdles the main characters face are huge. I enjoyed the book and would be interested in more by this author.

I don't think I've ever read anything like this book. I did not see what was coming and it's really hard to write a review without giving everything away. It's romance but with a slight (and I mean slight) twinge of sci fi, I guess. Even then it feels like I've given too much away as it starts off as a charming, meet-cute, traditional romance but with plenty of character from both Bee and Nick.

Even though Nick is a male character who is also an author (a combination that is very hard to pull off without them coming across as awful), I really liked him. I was actually more into his narrative than Bee's! His sardonic wit and self-deprecation actually came across as funny, rather than self-involved. Sarah Lotz has a real gift for writing characters.

The slight sci fi element feels like it's used as a standard romance hurdle, so this book is definitely for the romance/women's fiction than sci fi market.

I really enjoyed this heartwarming novel by Sarah Lotz. It took me a little while to get into it but once I did, I was REALLY invested. Super cute, really enjoyed this story, will definitely be reading this author again! 5 stars!

I don’t often read romance novels, but this latest offering from British fantasy author Sarah Lotz is something a little unique. And I adored it! Authentic, down-to-earth characters, British humour and a unique sci-fi fantasy twist which really makes this love story impossible…

Bee is a fashion designer running her own business upcycling wedding dresses from her London apartment. Nick is a failed writer living in a struggling marriage with his loyal dog Rosie in Leeds. The two never would have met if it wasn’t for an email error, but when Nick accidently sends Bee an email meant for his client, sparks fly.

Lots of the book is made up of Nick and Bee’s email conversations, interspersed with first person perspectives from the two of them. It’s a common trope in books like this, but it works so well here. Their back-and-forth really brings the two of them to life, they’re packed with sassy, snarky banter. It’s refreshing to read and the relationship they form feels natural, despite their differences. But when the two finally decide to meet, they realise all isn’t as it seems.

This book is a tricky one to review, and I’ve seen reviews and blurbs that spoil the big twist. I’m going to avoid doing that here but, if you want to know what makes this book a little different to your average email romance, there’s plenty of ways that you can find out. Safe to say that I went into this knowing that it wasn’t a straightforward romance, knowing that it had sci-fi/fantasy elements. That’s what sold the book to me – and those elements did not disappoint.

Lotz has crafted a multi-genre, thoroughly entertaining and touching story here. It’s a rare combination of warm, funny and completely gripping. This was my first read from the author, but it won’t be my last!
