Compared to the other books within the series, I did struggle with making me way through this one, however once I became fully immersed in the story, I had such a fun time, it was beautiful and heart-warming.
I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
Heartwarming, emotional and full of festive cheer!
I have read a few books by this author and each one has left me wanting more, and this one is no different. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw the cover - you have to admit it is incredibly pretty and Christmassy!!
But the gorgeous story within its pretty cover is worth a read, I loved the romance, the drama and the characters. It sparkles with the magic of the season of so many emotions swirling around the very likeable characters - they definitely pulled at this little reader's heartstrings, my goodness I was a complete mess reading this but it was worth every sniffle and when I wasn't smiling and sniffling in delight I had to cool it down with the scorching hot chemistry between Wolf and Nessa - ouh, la la!!
Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book. Idyllic location that set the tone of the book to perfection. Perfect seasonal book to get you in the mood for the festive season.
I enjoyed this book it was a really enjoyable read, nothing to heavy and easy to pick up and put down at will as it wasn’t too taxing, all in all not a bad book! .
Christmas in Rose Bend is the second book in the Rose Bend series and is a wholesome and delightful book about family and putting yourself out there for those you love.
The story focuses on Nessa and Wolf, who have both suffered loss and rejection in their lives and are done with putting themselves out there, only to be hurt once more. Nessa comes to Rose Bend with her younger sister to fulfil her late father's last wish and in doing so she ends up on a journey of discovery she had never anticipated. Wolf is there for her on this journey from the very beginning and the connection and attraction between the two of them is instant. Wolf's sweet and unassuming ways slowly make their way past Nessa's defences and Wolf realises that behind Nessa's hard shell, there's a soft centre.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's got all the Christmas feels, small town vibes and the characters were fabulous. It was lovely to meet Cole and Sydney again and a few of the other characters from the first book.
I love this author’s books and this story was no less than a favourite as well. The writing and characters kept me wanting to read it in one sitting and the live story just touched my heart and made it full.
Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy
Christmas on Rose Blend by Naima Simone.
This was an ebook that I had gifted to me by @millsandboonuk and had completely forgotten I had it in all honesty. I raced through this one though and enjoyed the way it featured all the traits of a rom com but this was through a story essentially about family.
I was lucky enough to have this ebook sent to me by @millsandboonuk and @netgalley so thank you! I made sure I picked it up this month as part of @neverending_netgalley and the prompt was Christmas so this was perfect. I did enjoy this book. I loved the setting of Rose Bend it sounded magical!! I did like the characters and felt quite invested in them all and their back stories. I was really wishing them good things. I am a fan of a love story and it’s my favourite genre to read but I did find this a little bit cheesy. It did have a fair bit of Christmas steam though 🔥 In saying that it would make a perfect hallmark movie. I will definitely pick up more by this author!
This was a really happy, feel good Christmas story. I really felt for both Ivy and Nessa, losing their parents, and although they had been brought up as half sisters they hadn't spent a lot of time together, and didn't really know each other.
Wolf is shown straight away as the typical hero of the story, the handsome local, who will win Nessa around and help her overcome her personal issues.
I thought the development of Nessa and Wolf was good, although in typical fashion, Nessa tries to avoid her feelings for Wolf.
There were a few steamy scenes, so be warned if you don't like that sort of thing.
I really enjoyed this book, and loved the overall christmassy feel of the book. Rose Bend definitely sounds like the sort of place I'd love to visit.
Thank you to NetGalley, Mills & Boon and Namia Simone for my arc of Christmas in Rose Bend in exchange for an honest review.
Out now!
Nessa Hunt is On a Christmas break with her sullen teenage sister Ivy. After the death of her mother and the both of them’s father Nessa and Ivy are fulfilling their father’s wishes and spending the month of December at a cutesy Christmas town called Rose Bend. Nessa is hoping to build bridges with the sister she feels so far apart from, but what she doesn’t bank on is falling for the innkeeper’s sexy son Wolf.
This was a great romance read, really sexy and exciting and everything you’d expect from Mills and Boon. Sadly, it wasn’t all that Christmassy for me, going off onto a story about Nessa’s parentage and family breakdowns. I still enjoyed it as a romance story however.
Dear Santa,
It’s me, Laura.
What can I say? I know it’s been a while, but you’re never too old to keep believing.
I have been a very good girl this year… Okay, okay, let me put it this way, I have tried. That’s the main thing, right?
So, I was wondering what the chances are of you leaving me my very own gift-wrapped Wolf Dennison under the tree to wake up to on Christmas morning? Please and thanks.
I know it’s a big ask, but as The Mommy always says, if you don’t ask you don’t get.
Anyhoo, Santa, I’ll be going now. Keep doing your thing, you rock!
Whaaa?
Don’t start with me… *wags finger*
I’m sure I’m not the only reader that was anxiously awaiting to return to Rose Bend, and I think it’s safe to say I loved CIRB.
Wolf and Nessa’s story was a sensation overload! Tears and snotters one minute then I needed a temperature pressure relief valve the next to release all that steam. Wowzers! Two words; mud room. *taps nose* Say no more…
I love Naima’s strong female characters and Nessa is no different. She may have her flaws, and her pride may get in the way to begin with, but she isn’t above asking for help when needed. All she wants is to love and be loved (despite her protestations).
Wolf caught my eye in Cole and Sydney’s story. Intrigued? You could say that. Still waters and all that! Ugh, he was like your favourite cookie triple choc dipped delight.
Things happen for a reason as two lost hearts are about to find out. Just add a Christmas wish and heaps of festive fun!
If you only read one festive themed read this year, make it CIRB.
Christmas in Rose Bend - Naima Simone
I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Mills & Boon and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Grieving ER nurse Nessa Hunt is on a road trip with her sullen teen half sister, Ivy, and still reeling from her mother’s deathbed confession: Nessa’s dad wasn’t really her dad. Seeking answers, they arrive in Rose Bend to find a small town teeming with the kind of Christmas cheer Nessa usually avoids. But then she meets the innkeeper’s ruggedly sexy son, Wolfgang Dennison.
I was slightly concerned going into this book as I hadn't read the first book in the series, I was worried that I would feel like I was missing important information - this was not the case. This is a fast moving festive romance that is fun to read.
This is a nice, charming book to read this festive season. I especially enjoyed the sound of all of the festivities that take place in Rose Bend.
Rating: 4/5
Wow, I wasn't expecting this book to be so good, but it was amazing! It was heart-warming, romantic, emotional and sexy, with a bit of Christmas cheer! Nessa and Ivy visit Rose Bend for a little vacation and there they find a beautiful setting, a sexy man called Wolf for Nessa, family and a whole lot more. It is just perfect and wonderful, and it is a good book to curl up with on a cold winter's day, as it will heat you up. Highly recommended! I am now starting the previous book in this series, which I am sure will be just as great as this one.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
“The heat between her and Wolf is undeniable” - well this is an understatement! This book is hot with a capital H, and is not one to be read in the office as it may leave you a little hot under the collar.
I hadn’t read book 1 and was a little worried that it would prevent me from getting into this but I didn’t find that this was the case at all. It can most definitely be read as a stand-alone but I do now want to go back and read Sydney’s story in more detail!
This book had me chuckling along from the first few pages, Naima definitely isn’t afraid of embarrassment and puts it all out there. It also had me reaching for the tissues though, I mean, it definitely gets your emotions going and tugs on those heart strings.
I also really liked the bits in italics where we got to see what was going on in Nessa or Wolf’s heads. I felt like it gave me an extra insight into them as characters and could get to know them to a deeper level. Somehow, it made them seem more real and gave these bits a conversational feel, rather than just reading the book I felt like I was there with them.
Rose Bend itself sounds pretty magical - especially at Christmas, although as a christmasaholic (I don’t know if that’s a word, but it is now) I would have taken a bit more festivity. We hear about the activities happening and it is undeniably set at Christmas but the focus was on Nessa and her journey of discovery through Rose Bend. I have to say I did love the Santa race though!
This is the second book of Rose Bend that I have read and it was lovely to come back and see everyone again at Christmas. This book tells the story of Nessa and Wolfgang and is filled with romance, fun and festivities. It is a great read not just at Christmas, The characters are believable and whilst I loved how strong and spoken Nessa was I could see that some people might not like her because of it, Still I would recommend this story and it doesn't matter if you haven't yet had the chance to read the first Rose Bend book.
This is the second book in the Rose Bend series and I really hope that there are going to be many more to come!
I loved this Christmas romance, it was just what I needed to read to get me in the Christmas spirit.
The descriptions of the town were wonderful and I really wanted to go and live there!!
Christmas In Rose Bend was a lovely, heartwarming read, full of festive spirit, fun, romance and a little sprinkling of sauce - what more could you want??!!!
It's my first Christmas read of the year and there are plenty of festivities to enjoy reading about. I love the small town vibes, it's one of my favourite things about this series. Wolf was an interesting character, but i wasnt a fan of Nessa. There is spice - a fair amount of it! It was fun to read but i enjoy books with a slower romance and
more plot
I Love all Christmas book and I could have stayed in this world such a magical Christmas feel I loved. The town the characters the community spirit in the town was amazing. Beautiful written style I loved how everyone knew each other and helped each other and how excited they were for Christmas such a joy to read you love this book
Thank you to the author and the publisher for allowing me access to this book. Firstly I’d like to kick off by saying that this was a fun easy read and I enjoyed the Christmas vibes that was in this book but saying that this doesn’t distinguish yourself from other competitors or books within the romcom Christmas theme so I wouldn’t recommend this over other books already published but I do think that this author makes a very good 3-D character and I will be reading more of her books in the future
