Another stunning, festive read from Heidi. The book is set on a Christmas Tree Farm in Wynmouth run by David and his son Ned. Liza Wynter's father originally co-owned the farm with David and since her father's death, Liza has become the major shareholder. Liza visits the farm in the run up to Christmas with a view to selling her shares so she can pursue her dream. Please read this book to find out how things work out. You will not be disappointed. I wasn't!
How I would love to visit Wynter's Trees , it sounds like such a gorgeous place to work and live, after all it's a Christmas Tree farm, and with it's new additions this year, it is starting to feel like a one stop shop for all your Christmassy needs.
I loved the crafters beach hut concept, I loved Bandit, our 4 legged friend who just always seemed to be cute and photo worthy, I loved the green idea of renting your own live tree, and seeing how your own personal tree grows from year to year.
However Liza Wynter has never been keen on the farm and hasn't been back since her father passed away, despite being the majority share holder.
And David and Ned who are running it and part owners too, are not happy with the real reason that she has finally been persuaded to come back. And David especially never gives up hope that Liza will take her rightful place at the helm of business.
There must be something rather magical in the air in Wynmouth, as Liza is slowly sucked into the amazingness of the place, although whether she will follow her head or her heart is another matter.
I loved all the various people we get to meet, especially Liam who is a fine young man, all of the crafters, and Maya who helps with the trees too.
This is another fabulous Christmas book from Heidi Swain, that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I loved the recurring characters from the previous Wynmouth book, but this completely stands alone with a new focal point completely. It's even made me feel quite festive too, and wondering whether in the middle of October if it's too early to put up a tree or not!
Thank you to Simon and Schuster and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Heidi's books are all absolutely fabulous! Warm hearted, feel good books - lots of twists and turns as you read them, to keep you wondering what will happen next as you turn the pages - you are guaranteed fabulous characters and descriptions of scenery so good that you can imagine yourself there! Underneath the Christmas Tree takes us back to Wynmouth - and as usual, Heidi's Christmas book is a joy to read (make sure you've got your hot chocolate and mince pie to settle down with when you read this book - it's one to relax with on a winters day). Guaranteed romance in every book! I just love every Heidi Swain book I read.
What a wonderful read. The beautiful descriptions of the plantation and the Christmas lights were breathtaking. I loved watching the friendships grow between Liza and everyone, I loved how they all pulled together and supported each other.
Watching Ned and Liza navigate their feelings for each other was wonderful, they shared so many special moments yet were still in denial. I loved the moment, whilst wrapped in a tiny towel standing in the frost Ned finally voiced his feelings.
I loved this from start to finish and I hope we get to visit again and see all the wonderful ideas out into action.
I enjoyed Liza and Ned’s story. A slow and steady very predictable read, but a nice heart warming story of friendship, love and hot chocolate. Not an awful lot happens in the story, an awful lot of characters seem to fill it out, but I enjoyed Liam and Chelsea’s addition - we’ve all had enemies at school that don’t seem so bad once we are adults! I felt the book went on and on where it could have been half the size and told exactly the same story. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.
After reading The Secret Seaside Escape I couldn’t wait to come back to the beautiful village of Wynmouth with its gorgeous beach and wonderful community spirit. Whilst the book mostly takes place away from the village, there were still a few visits into town and to the beach and some familiar faces made an appearance too.
The book had a wonderfully Christmassy feel; you can’t get more Christmassy than a Christmas Tree farm, a lodge with a roaring fire and a Husky! Throw in Heidi’s trademark community spirit with some family traditions and some Yuletide romance and you’ve got the ultimate feel good Christmas book.
I adore Heidi’s books anyway but there’s something extra special about her Christmas books that make me want to curl up with a hot chocolate and a mince pie and never leave the house, except maybe to visit a Christmas market!
A really lovely Christmas story. Set on a Christmas tree plantation whitch Liza still part owned, the story is full af warmth, charm and lovely friendships and throw in a bit of romance in the form of hunky Ned it makes for a perfect festive read
Another fantastic read from Heidi swain! It has all the usual brilliance you would expect, great characters, great story and a
Lovely story
Would 100% recommend
I’ve enjoyed many Heidi Swain books before, including The Secret Seaside Escape (the first book in the Wynmouth series), so I was pleased to receive an ARC of Underneath the Christmas Tree.
I really loved this book. The atmosphere was wonderfully Christmassy, with the Christmas tree farm, the little Christmas shops and so on.
The characters were well drawn, and all of them were appealing. I liked Liza especially. The emotional journey she went on during the course of the book was lovely to read. I enjoyed the developing relationship between her and Ned, and the ending was very satisfying. But Bandit was my favourite character, of course!
Overall, this was a lovely, Christmassy romance, with great character development. Perfect to curl up with in the cold winter evenings.
I was given a free copy of this book, my opinions are my own.
You honestly cannot go wrong with a Heidi Swain book!!
This book really gives you all the festive feels, even from just the gorgeous cover! I absolutely adored this book and loved the setting in Wynmouth.
This is such a beautiful story and full of charm and festive fun. The characters are all so likeable and I was rooting away for all of them.
This book has definitely put me in the festive mood!
I am so pleased to add this book to my ever growing Heidi collection 😀
I love this author’s books and this one certainly lived up to expectations.
Liza Wynter is returning home to Weymouth and her family’s Christmas tree business for the first time since her father’s death. With her dad’s business partner looking to retire and his son Ned taking over his part of the business, he is hoping Liza will come back and work with Ned to carry on the family tradition. But Liza’s determined to sell her part of the business as well so she can fulfil her own dreams. Happy to stay and help over the Christmas period, will she come to the realisation that this is the place where her dreams can come true?
A lovely festive story which was an enjoyable and entertaining read.
Where to start!?! I absolutely loved this book and whether you are a new reader to Heidi Swain books or not, you are most definitely in for fabulous festive fun with this fantastic book. Liza Winter has to return to her old childhood home at Wynters tree plantation to tie up some loose ends and hope to sell her share in the business she has no desire to be part of. Having no choice but to stay on & help with the Christmas tree sales, Liza starts to see just how much loved Wynters is by the community, how much care Ned, the son of her late father's business partner has put in to keeping her father's dream alive. Can Liza have a change of heart? Can she follow her heart & do what she came to do or will her heart be captured? A totally cosy, captivating Christmas story. Beautifully written and an absolute must read.
I thought this was a really lovely Christmas book, perfect to get you in the Christmas spirit. The characters are nice and a dog always helps. It’s not quite a 5/5 as it gets a bit boring in places about the running on the tree plantation and it was a bit predictable but all in all a charming book.
Thank you to NetGalley for my advanced reading copy.
I love all Heidi Swain's books but the festive ones are definitely my favourites.....and set on a Christmas tree plantation with a festive market thrown in too this festive extravaganza was no exception! But, what I love most about Heidi's books is that they have so much depth - not just a Christmas novel or just a romance, her stories also feature friendship, community spirit, family and entrepreneurship.
Add to that a fabulous array of likable - or lovable in the case of leading man Ned - characters and you have another brilliant, cozy, feel good read!
A wonderful Christmas treat!
From the stunningly gorgeous cover to the fabulous bunch of characters and cute big pup, Bandit, this book has everything you need to get in to the festive spirit fast.
In my view, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a Heidi Swain book. she always does Christmas so well & this book will not disappoint. All the things we love about Christmas, trees, decorations, local crafts, shopping, traditions & of course, love!
Lisa Wynter lost her Dad in a tragic accident when he was killed by a drunk drive a few years ago. He owned a Christmas tree growing business, where you could rent a potted tree for the festive period & return it, to have it again the following year. A very sustainable practice. Liza had not been back to Wynter's Trees since he died. Things were going to change at the business & Liza was asked to return to discuss the future. So many memories to deal with, so many emotions to feel & Heidi deals with this so well. Read Liza's return & what the future holds. Also, how many times can I get the word 'Christmas' into a review??
Another fabulous festive read from Heidi Swain. When Liza Wynter's school contract finishes, she has plans to travel. But first she has to deal with Wynter's Trees - her father's dream business in Wynmouth. After his death, Liza left the running of the business to his business partner, David, but David now wants to retire. So Liza heads to Wynmouth to try and sell her share of the business to Ned, David's son, who has been working with his father in the business.
On arrival, Liza finds a thriving business and Ned, who clearly loves Wynter's Trees. Can she persuade him to take over full running of the business so that she can follow her dreams? Or will the lure of Wynter's Trees prove too much to resist?
Heidi has once again created a book full of charm and love. A fabulous, festive setting and characters who you can root for combine to produce a story that wraps you up like a warm hug.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for this advance e-copy in exchange for my honest review.
my first book by Heidi was her first Christmas one and I fell in love so had to go back to the beginning with cherry tree cafe and read them all I love wynmouth and finding out more about the characters and everything they do. Reading one of her books is like going back to old friends I always know I will get immersed in the book and I have to keep reading to the end but then I don't want it to end. And this book is so good.
🎄 we meet liza who returns to wynters tress that was set up by her late father after her mother died and he moved them south and away from everything she knew. She never enjoyed it here and felt responsible for her father's death so always felt she couldn't return. But her father's partner asks her to return as he is planning to retire and his son is hoping to take his half over but he feels liza should come and finally see the business. But little do they realise she has very different plans to what they hope when she agrees to return.
🎄 I loved all the characters and loved how they all came together to make this Christmas extra special. The characters really compliment each other and I loved Liam and his mum Chelsea too. But was rooting for ned and liza from the start. I so hope we get to meet these characters in future stories. Now my only problem is waiting for my next book.
🎄 if you want an amazing Christmas read this is it and if you haven't read the others I really think after reading this you will want to.
Underneath The Christmas Tree is Heidi Swains 6th festive novel and this one is her first Christmas visit to Wynmouth, Norfolk. Not only does this book have the most gorgeous cover but is set on a Christmas tree planation called Wynter Trees.
Liza is reluctant to return to Wynter Trees since her father, its founder died but when her fathers business partner David phones to say he wants to retire Liza returns hoping to sell her half to Davids son Ned. This will give Liza the opportunity to travel and start a new business adventure that is dear to her heart.
Wynmouth has a great community of kind hearted folk and the excitement during the build up to Christmas shines through the lovely characters in this story. Friendship, relationships and of course romance are in abundance. This book is full of festive cheer and is a perfect read to curl up to in a cosy setting.
My thanks to Net Galley and publishers Simon & Schuster for the ARC digital copy.
A wonderful, feel-good romantic story that's perfect for Christmas. This is the first book I've read by the author, and it was a heartwarming story that makes you wish it was Christmas already!
Full of great characters, with some funny and some sad moments, you finish the book feeling as though you've made some wonderful friends.
With a Christmas tree plantation, an adorable husky, and mugs of hot chocolate, it's perfect for snuggling up on the sofa for a few hours and forgetting about everything else.
Highly recommend for getting you in the Christmas spirit!
