Duck and Hedgehog both had flat tires on their bikes, so they headed out to the bike shop. As they go they see others doing weird things.
Green Bean Books and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has been published and you can get a copy now.

The Duck finds fault with everyone who crosses their path. The hedgehog says "But perhaps, just maybe..." and offers his take on the situation. The Duck gets cranky and tells him to shut up. But when they get to the bike shop, he has a surprise.

This is a cute book with a good lesson.

Interesting story of two friends who went out biking, when both got bicycle problems. On their way to the repair shop, they met friends who didn't really do something to help them. One friend grumbles, while the other counters with positive thinking. A really good read with a good moral of the story.

A solid idea here. On a journey where everything is going wrong one character thinks of the worst possible explanation. The other thinks the best of everyone. And we aren't surprised to learn that the positivity pays off in the end. The problem is that some of the explanations stretch believability. It's a bit heavy handed but will get through to young readers.

What a cute little book! There are always reasons for why things happen. We can be selfish, especially when its something that can inconvenience us, but there are things that we are not always aware of.
Join these friends as they encounter some problems that can be seen as a problem - and one friend who looks for other reasons as to why they are happening.

A great short book for kids! I loved this one!

I absolutely loved this book. The pictures were so bright and engaging. I really liked the style. The story was unique and flowed well. I loved that duck was grumpy and that hedgehog was always looking on the bright side. So cute!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Pen & Sword/Green Bean Books for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. What a great book! It is such a fun story. A pessimist and an optimist walk together and this is the result. A subtle reminder to look at things in a positive light and not everything is as it seems. Made me giggle. 5 stars

This is a great book that teaches kids and adults to not judge people before you get to know them. I really enjoyed this and the cute little illustrations of animals are wonderful.

Duck and hedgehog discover their bikes have got flat tires, so they set out on a long walk to the bicycle shop. On their way, they meet a number of animals. While duck makes assumptions about their intentions and character, hedgehog reminds duck not to judge them too quickly.

This book is beautifully illustrated with lovely, detailed pictures. I enjoyed the message it sends. Truly a lovely book to remind or teach children not to judge too quickly.

Duck and Hedgehog are on their way to the bicycle fix-it shop when Cat whizzes by on his motorcycle, kicking up a choking cloud of dust. Duck is irritated, but Hedgehog says but perhaps just maybe, and gives a reason why Cat might have been in such a hurry. As they continue along the two encounter more behaviors which appear rude and unfriendly and Duck becomes grumpier and grumpier as Hedgehog continues to suggest but perhaps, just maybe there was a good reason for it. Accompanied by beautiful illustrations, this story teaches the picture book crowd that things are not always what they seem and with a little patience what first appeared annoying might turn out OK in the end. Thanks to NetGalley and Green Bean Books for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

But perhaps, just maybe is a delightful children's picture book about two friends Duck and Hedgehog who decide to go out on their bikes bit find they both have a puncture on their tyres.
They travel to get them fixed and along the way Duck gets more and more angry and frustrated with their friends. Hedgehog tries to make Duck see things from another angle but Duck is so cross he presumes the worst each time. They get their tyres fixed, and Duck learns a lesson and food for thought.

This is a lovely book about seeing the positives in others and giving the benefit of the doubt.

Duck finds everything and everyone annoying but hedgehog suggests that maybe there is a reason for their behaviour.

This is an important lesson for all of us.

I related to both duck and hedgehog (maybe more with duck). It’s so easy for us all to jump to conclusions and it’s important that we teach children that sometimes we make mistakes with what we think and that it’s ok to admit we were wrong.

This story has a great little message about the power of postponing judgement and always assuming the best. I can see my children really benefitting from it.

Very clever way to show children to assume nothing; to give people the benefit of the doubt. It’s healthy to have a positive outlook and believe the best about your friends. Good thing the friends weren’t aware of duck’s negative attitude. Great story and one that should be read often.

What a fun story about animals that seem to be doing very rude things, but are in fact helping others. It's a great way to teach kids not to jump to conclusions. I would highly recommend it. The title is great, too.

Quite dryly amusing, this young reader shows the benefit of being less judgemental. Duck and Hedgehog have a mission, when they need their bikes repairing, but every step of the way (well, all three, this volume thoroughly obeying the rule of threes) they find an animal doing what they wouldn't have wanted. Duck immediately grouses, to mix species, and assumes the worst of the animal they've met, while Hedgehog has a much more forgiving – if highly implausible – reason for what might have seemed objectionable behaviour. If you can't guess the ending, you're the target audience for this simple, attractive read – one where simple is just as much of a virtue as attractive. A strong four stars, and I hope to see more Israeli young readers and picture books rushed to an English-speaking market, if the benefits are as great as they are here.

But Perhaps, Just Maybe by Tuva Dikman Oreo is a wonderful book for readers under 7 or for teachers to share with a class or for parents and carers to read to their children. It tells the tale of Duck and Hedgehog heading to the bicycle repair shop when they witness three different events that Duck considers to be selfish but “ open-minded “ Hedgehog question s whether the action might have more positive meanings. By the end of the story Duck learns that all that you see shouldn’t be instantly judged and that friends can be doing wonderful things that aren’t immediately recognised. In a world of much negativity and use with young learners and readers to build up their understanding of friendship and the actions that people take may not be as they appear. The illustrations are lovely and comical too but don’t detract from the message. A wonderful book that I will recommend highly to colleagues
