I cannot stress enough on how beautifully laid out this book is. I was pleasantly overwhelmed with how much information was jam packed into here. Not only were the pages wonderfully decorated but the thought and care that went into each section was clear.
This book is great for those just starting out or for those who have been practicing for years. I cannot recommend it enough.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for access to the arc.
I found so much to love in Theodosia Corinth’s Witch’s Complete Guide to Self-Care that I would recommend this book to anyone, witch or not. Firstly, she gives caring consideration to how the daily wear of the world manifests in our lives, from fatigue and fragility to disconnection and anxiety. We’re not all just “stressed,” and I applaud the space she dedicates to identifying how one is specifically feeling. She reminds us that self-care at its best is “meant to build resilience, fortify the spirit, and help us better serve one another.” And then she drops the word ‘bibliomancy.’ Love. There’s a constant feeling of authenticity in this book – not dimestore pop psychology passing as meaningful guidance. Corinth writes compassionately, constructively, accessibly – and with a focus on intention. Highlights for me were her reframing exercise as “body practice,” the section on Intuition, the entire chapters on Space & Energy and Connecting with Community, and an underlying reverence for nature. She delivers instruction with thoughtful context, and the gorgeous imagery included brings her words magically to life.
I received a digital pre-publication copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review – and loved it so much that I also purchased a physical copy for my own collection.
I like how colorful the entire book is with pictures and illustrations inside. This have almost everything, but the contents are most suited to beginner witches. I loved how there's a chapter about boundaries and I really appreciate when a self-care guidebook like this one includes setting healthy boundaries as one of the self-cares we should practice.
This was a great book - really simple and easy to follow along with for beginners. I wish there were more books like this when I was starting my path 15 years ago. So well written.
I love these books but I hate trying to read them in the NetGalley app. It doesn't allow me to turn them, and it means I have to specifically zoom in to each particular page, which can get annoying. Other than that I thought that this book did a good job of talking about self care and giving it magical vibes. I thought there were some interesting spells and ideas that I will definitely be keeping in my mind.
A fantastic read! Very informative and educational. Helpful to baby witches and very intriguing. I will keep an eye out for more by this author.
Ciao, oggi volevo parlarvi anche di questo libro qui, ovvero The Witch's Complete Guide to Self-Care.
The pages inside the book have beautiful art and pictures. It offers ways to connect with your body and spirit. The images are truly beautiful, the book includes recipes, potions and recommendations. I don’t think I will be using this book; however, it was great to have to opportunity to read it and see the imagery.
This is a really nice collection of self-care witch tips along with some good info for people new to any of the practices being recommended. I especially loved the sections on boundaries and healthy relationships.
This isn't the sort of thing I normally pick up but it's always been something I have had an interest in so as a beginner not knowing much at all I found this book a great place to start and really enjoyed reading it.
This is a very nurturing, gentle introduction to witchcraft. Very much a self care book, which uses easily obtainable items to help you improve your well being. Very easy to follow and achievable examples for everyone. Great ways to achieve more positivity in your life .
Thank you NetGalley for a chance to read and review this ARC!
I'm not someone who normally reads this, so I probably don't have the most informed opinion. I did think it was very straightforward and pretty, I have taken a lot of notes from here. I do like the spells and practices, however, I feel like they dumbed this down too much and could have added more information. They did include more resources at the end which I appreciate. A lot of this focuses on using every day acts to take care of oneself and using meditation and methods of meditation.
The witch’s complete guide to self care… is a must have. Beautiful artwork throughout the book and helpful tips!
I absolutely recommend this to anyone, beginner or not, this is a bible to every witch this will help you come back to your inner self and centre yourself with this guide to nurture your body, mind, and spirit.
The illustrations are stunning and is a collector peace of art I absolutely fell in love with it, from meditation to natural remedies I recommend it
This is a beautifully visual book . I loved this sensible outlook on self care as part of our craft. The author includes astrology, spells, tinctures, herbal use inclusive to spells for protection as well as wonderful self care techniques. This is such a outstanding book for any witches library. I will be gifting a copy for myself as well as friends.
Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. My review opinion is my own . I highly recommend this outstanding book for new and seasoned witches. . This has a wide variety of material that every witch can learn from. Well done to the author !
I love the layout of the book. It’s very nice to look at and it looks magickal. There are journal prompts and tips for self care through witchcraft. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone. I will definitely be buying this book when it comes out and adding it to my collection. I cannot wait for it.
I was under impressed with this book. It reads like every other beginner witch guide with a slight self-care twist. Most of the self-care tips were common sense things like stretching and mindful breathing. I didn't see the point in including how to clean your house (I already know how to clean a bathtub, thanks). Probably the most helpful bit were the few spells at the end of the book. If you don't have a general witch's guide then maybe this book would appeal to you.. The photos and layout was pleasing, but the info was not in depth enough for my liking. If you've read a couple of guides before or done some basic research, I don't think this is the book for you.
Firstly, I need to stress how beautiful the photography in this book is. The imagery in this book is stunning! Because of this, I think this would make a lovely gift.
The content in the book is really interesting, and I certainly learnt some new things and got some inspiration for magick. The book covers a broad range of topics so would be great for a beginner. However some of the spells are quite complex, so the book would also suit a more experienced witch.
Think there's a lot to take away from this book no matter what your experience.
I really enjoyed it.
Information is split nicely with beautiful pictures to look at along the way.
It has some great tips for self-care. And I think it be perfect for beginners.
I really liked the layout and flow of this book. The illustrations were beautiful - this is great for a newbie and everything wasn't over complication with ingredients. I liked that it also provided additional recommended readings and online resources to continue to practice.
