I love shojo manga and when I saw this one on the home of NetGalley I was litterally attracted by the cover.
In this manga we have Madoka, a girl obsessed with shojo manga ( I can understand you Madoka lol) , specifically manga that feature younger, innocent guys who fall for their Senpai.
When Madoka isn't at school she works at her family's restaurant.
His father decided to hire a part-timer to help them in the restaurant, Shikura, a guy one year younger than Madoka.
She should be thrilled when he comes to work at her father's restaurant but their first meet was not the best. He's rude and standoffissh and want nothing to do with her.
After this bad "first meet" she'll do something to help him and his behavior will change.
First of all, the art work is amazing, I really love this kind of draw and when the drawing are amazing I think that the story have already a plus point.
Until now I have always read manga in which the boy was older, I appreciate this change of role.
Madoka is a character who doesn't lets anyone push her around and she intrigues me a lot.
It's a quick read that I have appreciate.
There is only one particular that I didn't like and is the quickly change in Shikura's behaviour.
I would have preferred a longer development, but I'm curious about how the story will unfold.
The artwork in this novel is amazing. Love the story and the characters. Perfection and exactly what I’m looking for when I read manga!
This manga is just so cute and funny. I loved it. If the second volume is as good as this one, it will definitely become a favourite. At first, I wasn’t convinced by our male lead due to his rude behaviour. Just because he is popular among girls doesn’t mean you can be mean to someone you just met. But then, his behaviour evolved and he apologised and everything.
I loved the drawing. Nakaba Harufuji did a great job and there are some pages where Shikura is so cute, it makes my heart melt. Her goal was to create a boy whose looks don’t match his personality and I think this was a success, both in terms of drawing and in terms of story. I laughed so much because of it. I just can’t wait for volume 2.
I recommend if you are looking for a cute shojo that will make you laugh.

You're My Cutie, Volume 1 by Nakaba Harufuji was a cute, fast-paced shoujo volume about a high school girl who loves younger, adorable guys who (literally) runs into a guy who looks the part but acts like a jerk and their relationship goes from there. This volume seemed rather steamrolled in its progression being only the first, but it was enjoyable and mindless and did its job, so I can't really fault it for that. I am curious how this story will continue after that ending though. ;-)
You're My Cutie was so unexpectedly adorable and I ended up loving it so much. It has the vibes of a classic shojo manga and is so fluffy, sweet and lighthearted; it just warmed my heart so much. This was the perfect light read that you can pick up on a stressful day. While this was definitely cliched, its cliche-ness made me love it so much more. And of course, I can’t end this review without mentioning the stunning artstyle; the characters are all so beautifully drawn and I loved how hilarious some of their expressions were throughout this volume.
I know that I’ll be coming back to this and reading it again and again, for the comfort it provides and I cannot wait to read more of this wonderfully sweet manga.
Lately I've been reading a lot of josei romance manga geared towards an older audience, so switching from that to You're my Cutie, was a bit of a shift.
We're introduced to Madoka reading a shojo where the kohai boy falls for his older sempai, which establishes her type for the readers. Her father hires a new part timer to fill in at the family restaurant. On the surface the Shikura is completely Madoka's type - he's cool, collected, handsome, and one year younger than her. Basically her manga boy come to life.
However it seems Shikura has been traumatized by being cast as the prince role in his high school and is standoffish and rude to preempt any unwanted attention. This leads to not great interactions between the two at first, and the rest of the plot deals with each of them learning how best to open up and be around the other.
My big issue is that Shikura's character really goes from hot to cold from hot to cold super fast. At times we're also shown that he's basically like a lost puppy (which feeds into the kohai/senpai narrative) however at times it feels a little forced and out of character.
But overall if you're looking for a cute shojo manga that's a quick and easy read, and low on angst and chock full of fluff, I definitely pick this up. And for all that this isn't usually my type of read I'll be looking out for volume 2.

Thank you so much @NetGalley for giving this opportunity to readers and writers.
One more time thanks for accepting my request, I have many more of Kodansha comics to review, so looking forward to that too.
Got this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review, so here it is.
Actually this was like my first manga if we don't include few webtoons, but I really loved this comic. It was a cute romance and I really can't wait to read other volumes.
It was about a guy who has really different personality from the stereotype you would give him by his look and then there is this bit older girl, just a regular girl who helps her parents in their restaurant.
First their relationship doesn't start to well, it starts with distrust and coldness, but their relationship is developing and growing. Slowly he lets her in more, but Madoka is hesitant about how the friendship should look like, I really love that she isn't hurrying and tries her best to let Shikura feel comfortable. Through the story they get more and more comfortable with each other. Now all that's left is to continue reading the story and find out.
Maybe the only thing that I kinda would like to get a bit more is maybe some kind backstory or just their life outside the restaurant and all.
Thank you to @Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC to read and honestly review!✨
Gosh, I absolutely adored everything about this manga. I am a sucker for romance novels especially the graphic ones and I was sucked into this one immediately!
I think what I loved the most was the exciting dynamic between the two main characters. I found it quite interesting that unlike in most romances, the guy’s looks did not much his personality, and he was actually quite softhearted and goofy when you got to know him better alongside the main character, plus the younger boy-older girl trope that I’ve barely ever encountered!
The atmosphere was witty, and funny from the very beginning and I enjoyed seeing things through the eyes of our main character more than anything. Her narrations made this story and had me smiling very big at all times!
All in all, this book was just as cute as Shikura-kun😅honestly cannot wait to read the rest of the volumes and see how the lovely relationship between the two characters will progress!

Wow. This was such a cute and fast read. I actually love our main character, Madoka. She's obsessed with shoujo manga (relatable) and with romance. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets a gorgeous kohai, who is now working for her father. He seems like the dream except that he's actually quite rude and selfish.
The art style is amazing and I really enjoyed it. I think the story was cute, the characters are lovely, and overall is your typical shoujo manga but I really liked it and if you like this type of stories i think you'll like it too!.
Can't wait to star volume 2 as soon as possible!.
Super cute manga. The hero heroine are so adorable! I can't believe this is a debut manga of the creator. The manga art is so good. Can't wait to read the next installment.
Madoka loves to day dream and read about sweet romances between girls and their cute, puppy-like juniors. In real life, she's looking for a love for her own but is too busy helping out at her dad's diners to have her storybook romance. Seeing this, her dad hires a part-time named Momoki who only halfway meets Madoka's ideal type, younger but abrasive. Momoki assumes Madoka is another girl obsessed with his looks and cuts her down until she tells him off. This slowly begins to chip at the armor he's built around himself as something new blooms between them (with a fake dating plot on hand!)
What I enjoyed most about this was how headstrong and earnest Madoka is. She likes to takes manners into her own hands and won't stand for mistreatment. Momoki is initially a huge tsun, yet he also reveals himself to be pretty inexperienced and more cute than he can help. While the framing throughout this volume is simple, the character design is super cute and would appeal to fans of Suu Morishita: adorable girls and tall pretty boys.
This was a really charming introduction I'm looking forward to continue.
This is a really sweet take on a Shojo story. We have an adorable clumsy hero, and a heroine who has a thing for the younger guys. The fact that our hero is attractive and a year younger than her, she is having a hard time resisting his charms.
The art is great, and I really love the story. Can't wait for volume 2!
Thank you to NetGalley, Kodansha Comics, and Nakaba Harufuji for the opportunity to read this manga in exchange for an honest review.
This is an excellent first volume! Madoka Kawahara works in her family's restaurant. They are a bit short staffed, so when her father hires and absolute cutie, Madoka soon finds out this cute buy is a total jerk. As Shikura learns that Madoka isn't like the other girls (consistently stalking him and taking sneaky photos without his permission), he becomes more kind and they both get to see a side of each other they did not expect upon first meeting. Madoka swears she won't fall for Shikura; he's not her type and she doesn't want to be like all the other girls that like him. But sometimes feelings can't be helped!
This is a great work for shoujo readers. There's a nice element of enemies-turned-friends that happens pretty quickly, and seeing how both characters feelings start to change for each other is a great build to the romance right away. I am wondering how many volumes this work will end up being, because it is very quick and enjoyable. What more can be asked for of a high school romance work?
First of all, I would like to thank NetGalley and Kodansha for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
Rating: 4 stars
Personally, I enjoyed the lighthearted moments in this first volume of the manga. I was mainly attracted to this because of the cover. The artstyle is very reminiscent of a lot of shojo/romance series which I personally like. The characters were drawn beautifully and our main love interest definitely intrigued me.
The storyline is straightforward with a blooming relationship/friendship between a girl, Madoka and the seemingly stiff and gruff younger guy whom always closed himself off from other girls. I really like how Madoka deals with things in certain situations, she is not pushy nor take things for granted. She is also not afraid to confront something that makes her uncomfortable. Its a cute and sweet interactions between the pairs and I'm excited to see their development.
Reccommended for those who loves cute romance
3.5 stars. A very cute romance that contains all the cliches you can except in a shojo manga. Enjoyable and nice drawings, but the premise and characters did not stand out from anything else. It was a sweet and fast reading with nothing below the surface. I am not sure if I would continue but it was cute for what it is.
A another cute and fluffy shoujo manga!
Madoka the female lead is funny, cute and independent, and unlike other shoujo manga female leads, she is not annoying. And Shikura, the male lead, is so clumsy despite his tough personality, which makes him overwhemingly cute to me!!!
Actually, I feel quite sympathetic to Shikura. If you encounter such harassment on a daily basis, it's not strange to be afraid and suspicious of people. I'm excited to see how their relationship will develop in the second volume!
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of romance type manga, especially when it’s kinda funny and so cute. Which I why I wanted to read this one to begin with. Now I’m not into younger individuals myself, but omg I love this graphic novel sooooo sooooo much!!!
It’s really funny!! Like no, I seriously laughed so hard I gave myself an asthma attack. True story. (I’m fine btw) But the dynamic between Madoka and Shikura Kun is great. The moody closed off boy and the protective older girl. Their interactions just cracked me up. She looks at him and he kind of sparkles. It’s hilarious!
Their romance is a slow sweet thing too. No jumping in head first. But I like that they get to know each other first. Makes it even cuter.
Her parents are super funny too. But mainly because I see my own parents in them and I just want to shake my head and smile.
Anyway, I’m getting dangerously close to spoiling the plot and I don’t want to do that. If you’re into sweet romance manga that is really funny, this is the book for you!!! I recommend this one all the way!!
Thanks so much to NetGalley, Kodansha Comics, and Nakaba Harufuji for the opportunity to read this for my honest and unbiased opinion!!!!
Will be posted to my blog and Amazon shortly.
Really adorable. Classic manga of this genre. I’d definitely read more once they came out and I’d recommended as a slow burn tsundere romance.
I am in love! These two are so cute together! I loved the characters, the story and the art. Everything is just adorable, can't wait to read the next volume!
