A beautiful story of love, friendship, loyalty and loss.
I honestly cried a lot through this story. It was told with such feeling that I could sympathise, laugh, and really get in the middle of this beautiful tale. As a dog lover, I agreed with lots of things that happened and I think you will feel how Martha had to manage these beautiful dogs and their best interests. You'll love reading this story.
I received this free arc book for an honest review.

What a great story this was . Not only is this a fantastic about 2 gorgeous dogs brought together in the most unique way. But also, a great read around their owners. Which was both heart-breaking and heart-warming. I really loved the way the author wrote this book with such passion. As I don't know how many owners who would hire a dog nanny. She owned a wonderful dog called Minnie who seemed more famous that her own owner especially are the markets. Harry's owner had definitely led a very interesting life and there was nothing that the dog went without including the most adorable handmade costumes. It is such a shame his owners life took a downwards spiral. But at least one thing came of this story Harry did meet and love Minnie even though there were both very different characters. The author brought a fantastic sense of atmosphere that really brought out my emotions while reading it. At times I was nearly brought to tears as it was so heart-breaking at the end. It's such a great read that I definitely recommend this book to all dog fans as I just know you will feel so many emotions while reading it. There was also so many funny stories where the dog's characters really came out. I especially loved the story of the laundry basket. Having a dog, myself I can certainly relate to my dog's fascination with lying on my dirty washing pile. Or inside my bed like a little mole.
So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for bringing us this very interesting story that I struggled to put down and had to finish in one sitting.

A beautifully written, heart-warming story of friendship and community.
Carol who is dying of cancer needs someone to take care of Harry, her bull terrier, who has many issues. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I love stories like these, so heartwarming and lovely. Being a dog owner myself I can totally relate with the author.
Beautifully written from the heart, loved the illustrations and will definitely buy myself a hard copy
This book is beautiful! firstly Im a huge dog lover and have a rescue dog and cats myself, and secondly like most of us I was very effected by 9/11.
That Carol is terminally ill with cancer caused by ingesting the dust from that awful day is heartbreaking, many of those selfless people who helped search for survivors that day have been similarly effected and it is so cruel.
Her priority is a loving home for Harry, and then Harry meets Minnie!
The writing is warm and engaging and is written by somebody who loves and understands dogs and how complex they can be.
A really gorgeous book, although also heartbreaking, Im so glad I read it.
Such a beautiful book. Carol, who is dying of cancer caused by the toxic pollution in New York in the aftermath of 9/11, needs someone to take care of Harry, who is a 'great listener but does have a problem with large dogs. He is great with smaller dogs. If he sees a hose he will destroy it to protect you. He will figure out ways to let you know exactly how he feels'. When Martha has a chance encounter with Carol's friend, he can't help but notice Minnie, 'oh those chunky little legs', and so the matchmaking begins. After a disastrous first meeting, when Minnie doesn't appear to think much of Harry (who is super keen), things improve and soon they are inseparable. As Carol's illness progresses, so a new friendship and community blossoms, Carol's Club.
