The Patient by Jane Shemilt
When Rachel meets Luc, the attraction is instant.
But she is a doctor, and he is her patient.
She gives him the drugs he needs – but in doing so, risks everything.
And when a secret is exposed, they’re both in the firing line.
Not all patients are telling the truth.
I enjoyed reading this book , good characters and plotline , quite gripping and suspenseful , but perhaps a little unbelievable .
Jane Shemilt writes a good story and I would read other books by her . 3 stars

A good novel.
I've read ever novel by Jane shemilt but this was good not excellent. First half of the book was really really Pacey but the rest was a little bit pacey. But somehow I've finished it and the ending was good. Shr tied all the loose ends in the ending.
Overall it's a good read and fans of Jane shemilt will definitely love it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK Harper Fiction for giving me an advance copy.

Jane Shemilt is a competent writer indeed. I liked her style of writing and her use of imagery.
The first quarter of the book was engrossing and I found it quite hard to put down at first. I slowly lost interest after that though. Perhaps it’s the pacing. Perhaps it’s the relationships that turned me off.
