It is a very basic guide to asexuality, like the cover says. It doesn't get into the complexity of asexuality. It is helpful for explaining it and Split Attraction Model.
My biggest problem is the art. The body shapes are the same with the same thick neck and stocky body. There is something about the eyes and noses that bother me. They're too simple, but not in a charming way. The noses are L-shaped or with a weird upside down triangle I associate with animal noses. The art is pretty literal with the artist and writer talking to the viewer and recounting their experiences. The most creative part is when they have a graph as a background to explain split attraction theory. The medium of a graphic novel wasn't well utilized

Thanks to NetGalley for providing me the ARC for this book in exchange for a review. As an ace person, none of this was new information for me, but I was reading it to check if it could be a good resource for the allosexual people in my life to read to learn more about what asexuality actually is. I would say yes! This book is very concise and clear in its text and shows a very straightforward and understandable approach to explaining asexuality. It also debunks common ace myths and discusses the place of ace people within the lgbtq community. I definitely recommend this book as a baseline resource for libraries, classrooms or for you to add to your "I'm coming out, here's what that means" gift basket for anyone important in your life.

A Quick and Easy Guide to Asexuality is exactly what its title suggests. The art is well-done and the information is short and to the point. I would recommend it for high school and up.

This book/comic was exactly what the title promises: a quick and easy guide to asexuality. It didn't give any new insight to me personally, but I've also read a few books about asexuality or with asexual main characters, but if you aren't familiar with the topic it is a really good place to start. I love how this cleared some rumors about what asexuality is or is not and the difference between asexuality and aromanticism. Overall, as I said just a really good place to start, if you don't know anything about it. Nothing a quick google search isn't telling you too, but I personally think a comic is way more fun.

Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC copy.

This is another solid entry in the Quick and Easy Guides series. This would be perfect for anyone looking for a basic introduction to asexuality and aromanticism. If you already have a basic understanding of these orientations, then this isn't going to give you anything new. I can't wait to see the book once it has color.

As someone who just recently figured out that I'm asexual, this book really helped answer some questions I had about asexuality and the different terms that go into the asexual spectrum.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an e-ARC copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. I'll copy and paste below my Goodreads review:

Great book! It's really simple and easy to follow, and although I recommended this book to my bff, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to everyone, since, as it says, it's a guide which covers the basics of asexuality.
So if you're looking for more detailed and specific information, this book might not be for you. But if you're like me, meaning someone who doesn't know much about asexuality and wants to get educated, this book js for you. If you're questioning and want to learn more about the spectrum, this book is also for you.

One thing I'd love to add though is that at some point the authors suggest that the "A" in LGTBQAI+ stands for Ally which is not. They don't specifically say so, but they never contradicted it either. This was the only thing that really pulled me off. The A stands for Asexual, Aromantic and Agender. It does not stand for Ally!

Thanks again for the opportunity, how I wish we had more books like this one back in the day

As the title says, it is a quick and easy read.

Asexuality isn't a very discussed subject and it's great to have such a straightforward approach as a first introduction.
If there was one thing to learn from it, it would be : if you think you belong among aces, then you do. Be it for one day, or forever.
It isn't weird, it isn't a disease, it's just who you are.

If you want to learn more about asexuality, Angela Chen's book gives lots of examples of how diverse it can be.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing an eARC in exchange of an honest review.

I absolutely love these little guides on different aspects of the LGBTQ+ spectrum and highlights to the "forgotten" pieces. Everyone knows about the LGBT parts, but when you start getting into the "plus" parts, it can get confusing. This aptly named "quick and easy guide" was exactly that. While it's not the most in-depth and deep-dive style that you can get for other pieces, it is a great starting point for those who might have only the knowledge that such a label exists but not really what it means.
Thanks to NetGalley and publishers for the advance copy of #AQuickEasyGuidetoAsexuality

Non-fiction isn’t a genre that I’ve ever tried to branch into before as it’s not something that my brain can process properly! But this non-fiction graphic novel is done in such a fun and unique way that it felt easy for me to learn from and learn I did!

I absolutely love how it was done as a conversation as if Molly and Will are just having a chat with you and answering different questions that may come to mind. Other things I loved in this book is the cake metaphor they used to explain asexuality, how they covered the different stereotypes of asexuality in the media and the connotations this can have and how they highlighted different resources at the back of the book for you to do further research!

Overall I found this book to be rather informative! If you have no knowledge of asexuality or you know a little about asexuality and want to know more then this is a brilliant starting point.

This works as a short and simple introduction to asexuality. Great to explain the concept to people unaware of or confused about the orientation.

4.5
This was such an informative and eye opening read.
I love the style in which the authors used in their teaching. I also love that there was a lot of diversity to include many identities under the ace spectrum. Another thing I really appreciated was how they included people asking questions because most of the questions they asked were what I had been thinking about too.

This book is particularly valuable, taking into account how destructive it tends to be for individuals who are simply beginning to address themselves to go online for answers, on the grounds that similarly as it's said in the book, the web can be loaded with hate and ignorance towards ace individuals as many people don't even try to understand what the other person is going through.

PLEASE READ THIS. It is such a helpful book for educating yourself and others.

Only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is because I feel like the book could have been a bit longer, other than that no complains:)

Thank you to Oni Press and NetGalley for giving me a digital copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.

An interesting and informative guide to asexuality. Deals with a lot of basic definitions and information and makes them easy to understand. The metaphor of the cake is good imaginary for asexuality.
I personally didn't gain that much new information about the topic because of my prior research of asexuality, but for other people it could be a good introduction.
The only slight negative thing for me would be the art, I guess. I'm not the biggest fan of it.

As a woman who has struggled with my sexuality and recently have started identifying as asexual this book was perfect for me. This is a quick, simple, straightforward book that is very easy to understand. I enjoyed the comic strip style. I feel this book would be perfect for a younger person who is struggling with their feelings of being asexual.

I have not had the pleasure of reading one of these "Quick & Easy Guides" because I've never seen one that I felt applied to me or that I wanted to read about, but "A Quick & Easy Guide to Asexuality" caught my eye once it popped up. After reading it, I'm very glad I did.

"A Quick and Easy Guide to Asexuality," as well as the other books in this series, is a quick, animated guide to what asexuality means. It features to people who identify on the asexual spectrum, Molly Muldoon and Will Hernandez, as they go through questions, assumptions, explanations, and more on what asexual means.

As someone who is going through an asexual "crisis" (it's not that bad, just something I'm realizing and confronting) this book was very comforting and important to have. As the book points out, asexual representation is still in very few and far between and is currently represented with niche and harmful stereotypes (the genius freak, the prude, the victim). I don't even fully know what aseuxal means or what it looks like because of this, and it is because of that that I've been struggling. But this book did an amazing job at explaining what aseuxal means and what it can look like.

Asexual is a spectrum and that was something I needed to hear. Even though I believe I am on this spectrum and do lean more towards demisexual like Molly, I almost felt like I was coming to this book as a stranger to what it truly means. It did an amazing job putting everything in simple terms for anyone to understand.

To anyone who has a family member or a friend who might be or comes out as asexual, I can't recommend this enough. Asexual representation and understanding has a long way to go but this was a refreshing introduction and explanation for the public to have readily available.

My final rating is 4/5 stars. With very sweet illustrations and very real dialouge, this is a great step in the right direction for asexual representation.

What would I have give to have something like this when I was growing up really, it would have helped me so much at that time, as explained here i did felt very isolated and weird and even broken since I couldn't understand why other people can only think about sexuality as the only thing in the world and I couldn't.

This book i think will be a beacon to all of us that feel misunderstand and need help figuring out things about ourselves and to know we are not alone and that we do have a community out there that understand us and are kind.

It was indeed fast and easy to understand so it will be great even in schools, we need to learn a lot of things about this topic and stop being taboo about it and just sit and talk about things.

Totally recommended for everyone that just want to learn about romance and sexuality, this may have the answers you need.

An amazing and stunning grayscale graphic novel. The title basically says it all. It's a quick and easy guide to asexuality. It covers many basics, such as growing up asexual, dating while asexual, and common myths about asexuality.

I love the style which the authors used in their teaching. I also love that there was a lot of diversity to include many identities under the ace spectrum.

This was REALLY good and it would have gotten five stars but a lot of what's in the book isn't new to me. For further in depth reading I'd recommend Ace by Angela Chen. It's also on the reading list at the end of this graphic novel.

It really is a quick and easy guide to asexuality. it completely fulfill the purpose of having a first introduction to asexuality. it is still a confusing spectrum because of how many shades it cover but it really explains it well. if you want to know more about it, you should find more complete books and not stop at just this! really like how they explained the whole thing, put to perspective with real life scenarios and by answering to questions that we can be asked or ask ourselves. very well done in my opinion!

I loved how informative this was, not only for people who are questioning their identities but also for people who want to be supportive. This will clear the most basic doubts and help clear up the stereotypes surrounding asexuality.

Thank you to NetGalley and Oni Press for an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.

As someone who identifies as part of the Ace spectrum, I was really excited to get to read this book. There is so much misconception surrounding Asexuality/Aromanticism and I was thrilled to see something like this was coming out. Safe to say I was not disappointed.

This book is wonderfully illustrated, breaking down concepts into nice chunks including stereotypes, dating, and even what the spectrum of ACE contains. I learned that axolotls are one of the unofficial mascots of the ACE spectrum (I knew about the cake), and that just brought me joy since I love those little things. This book doesn't pull punches; it is filled with personal stories but it is written in a really accessible manner for all ages, and it really tries to break down concepts that are misunderstood in such a way that you can then explain it to others.

This book is one of the best books I have read on Asexuality in a while, and a large part of that was just due to how accessible the writing is. I look forward to sharing this with others. 5/5
