Dax is a professional snowboarder and general adrenaline junkie who finds out the he has a son he never knew about and hires Simone to help look after the kid while he works over Christmas.
This is a very character-driven story, where there really isn't much action to speak of, however it does get bonus points for giving all the festive content, set in the wintery wonderland of Chamonix, France. Think stunning Christmas trees in log cabins, sledging in the snow and hot chocolates by the fire and you've got the perfect recipe for a sweet, Christmassy romance.

Oh my gosh!!!
Dax has just found out he is a single dad but he has no idea how to connect with his son, Yann, so he hires Simone, who’s daughter Chloe is Yanns best friend at school, to come to Chamomix over Christmas to try and make things easier
I loved Dax but at times I was so worried about him, he is an extreme snowboarding free rider which is super dangerous and had me catching my breath as he practiced and made his runs down the mountain. It’s a testament to Ms Hayes’ amazing writing skills and research that I was so caught up in Dax and Simone’s story that I kept forgetting that they were fictional characters and that Dax wasn’t in real danger (and that I couldn’t google him to watch his videos!). Free riding is something that I hadn’t really experienced before and it sounds so scary but also an amazing experience and it’s such a part of Dax that for him trying to understand that there is more to his life than that is a struggle but I totally loved to see him start to connect and build a relationship with Yann (as well as Simone and Chloe) and realise that his life could contain more than what he has
Simone drove me nuts at times, she seemed incredibly needy and didn’t support what Dax does but as I learnt more about her, I could understand why she was like that and it’s her way of manifesting her worries and anxieties and seeing her start to overcome them made me love her as a character
As you can surely tell by now, I totally loved this book. There is so much drama and danger, I was pulled in by the characters from the very first page and got so entwined in their lives that I didn’t want to let them go. I’m so glad that there was an epilogue so I could see what happened next and it helped saying goodbye to them easier but I think this book will stay with me for a very long time
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a book full of drama with so much character development that will pull you in and not let you go

A really lovely winter read - ski slopes, a daredevil single dad and a gentle-hearted single mum. Loved the setting and the escapism, the only thing I was less keen on (based on a personal preference) was that there were a lot of exclamation marks which broke my reading flow. I would gladly read more books by this author and recommend to any romantics searching for a book set on the slopes.

Dax is a new father to his 6 year old son after the death of the boys mother and he finds himself totally out of his depth, he tries to get his son's best friends mother on board to help him over Christmas. Simone is struggling just to get by and wonders if by helping Dax she is doing the right thing but ultimately she believes that she can make Dax learn to love his son so together they celebrate christmas in a wonderful festive chalet.
The story was lovely and so very festive, It was very sweet how the relationship developed and I really enjoyed the book - it definitely has me in the christmas spirit.

Dax is an extreme snowboarder with a tragic past and a six-year-old son he has just met. Single mother Simone has an understanding of what Dax is experiencing. Their children are friends. Dax needs someone to take care of his son at Christmas in Chamonix. Is Simone willing to be that person?

The Parisian setting for the couple's first meeting is atmospheric and magical, drawing the reader into the story's festive ambience. Their first meeting sparks an attraction even though they don't initially realise the significance of it. Simone and Dax are lovely characters who have to overcome their emotional barriers to find happiness. The romance is gentle, and the conflicts, to their being together, authentic.

This story has everything you want in a festive romance, characters you believe in, heartwarming emotion and a happy conclusion.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

A pleasant Christmas themed romance featuring Dax, an independently wealthy freeboarder and Simone, who works in the school office. They each have a child from a previous relationship and the story follows their blossoming romance.

A easy snowy Christmas read. Whilst everything is based around a love of snow and winter sports, snowboarding and free riding is explained in a clear and non patronising manner. The real romance between Dax and Simone is developed sensitively and from both sides with each being equal. The kids are cute and whilst the ending is never in doubt, it is a lovely journey to get there.

Great Christmas read. Dax is the super sexy snow boarder with huge issues from his family background. Simone is a widow whose husband died at Christmas. When Dax takes custody of the son he never knew he had he struggles to connect and needs Simone’s help to help Yanni settle.
Gorgeous location and great heartwarming story. Dax was a little too nice god me and Simone a little judgemental. Would have loved more resolution to the Collette aspect to the story. However, still a great read.

What a lovely story. I totally loved this story. Very authentic and emotional.

This was all new to me - Dax, a successful snowboarder discovers he has a son and struggles to connect with him so asks Simone the mother of Yanni’s friend to help him. Simone is a widow and reluctant to get involved. Dax struggles to believe anyone could love him. The coming together of these two and their offspring is a delightfully touching and satisfying story. I loved Dax and was with him all the way. I struggled with Simone a couple of times but the author does such a great job that I totally forgave her. A really lovely read.
