Cressida is sure her husband is cheating on her but needs proof in order to secure a good divorce settlement. She calls on Brioni to help her get the proof she needs.
If you have read Sam Blake’s previous book you will remember Brioni, but if you haven’t it won’t stop you enjoying this one.
Brioni is a cyber-whizz who helps Cressida hack into her husband’s systems to get evidence. What they find is way more than they were bargaining for!
The stakes are quickly raised as is the body count. Laurence’s secrets are one by one revealed.
This book has great characters and good pace, it kept my interest and had enough subplots to keep the pages turning. A great read.
A gripping tense and nail biting read , this is not to be missed. Sam Blake is an extremely talented writer and this is a fantastic read Cressida finds out that her husband has been cheating on her, However he is also invovled with dangerous people and this is where the story really gets going! Not to be missed!
So many themes emerge from this book that seemingly starts with just a potentially bitter divorce settlement. A tense thriller where you can never be sure when the next hit will be, by whom or against whom. Edge of your seat story with compelling and vividly-depicted characters who keep surprising you as their role in the plot develops.
This is another gem of a read from Sam Blake and it was great to catch up with the character of Brioni again. Like all the her previous books, this one had me intrigued right from the start and my mind was asking so many questions which of course I didn't answer until I got to the end. I love that I couldn't predict the outcome of this story line and there were plenty of brilliant twists that really threw me. The characters were all really well developed and the storyline was current and on trend. It's fast-paced and full of action which makes for a real page-turner. I can't wait to read the next book and hope to see more of Brioni in future books as well. Excellent 5 star read and sure to be a huge hit with readers.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Atlantic Books for an advance copy of Remember my Name, a stand-alone thriller set in Dublin.
Cressida Howard overhears a conversation at the end of a call to her husband, Laurence, it implies that he is having an affair. She enlists the help of her friend’s sister, Brioni O’Brien, a cyber security expert to get the proof she needs for a divorce, but they soon find themselves in deeper than they expected, because Laurence is doing business with some unsavoury characters.
I thoroughly enjoyed Remember my Name, which is an engrossing read full of twists and turns. It is told mainly from Cressida and Brioni’s points of view with the occasional contribution from Cressida’s seventeen year old daughter, Emily Jane, who appears to have her own hustle on the go.
I like these women as they are strong, believable characters with a good sense of reality, unlike Laurence who has an inflated idea of his capabilities and an even more inflated sense of entitlement. He is not likeable and gets less so as the novel progresses, but the women get more so as they plot their way to success in the divorce courts. Emily Jane turns out to be a revelation. What a legend.
The plot takes it time at the beginning with a series of small events, but soon starts to ramp up. It’s all interesting and intriguing but not really tense until nearer the end when everything comes to a head. I like the way the author unfolds the plot with a series of developments and reveals, but even then it’s not obvious who is responsible for what and who knows what. It’s not confusing for all that, more curiosity inducing and it makes the reader want to continue. The answers when they come are more fantastical than realistic, but the denouement is thrilling, so what more could a reader want from a novel?
Remember my Name is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.
Remember my Name is a brilliant and clever psychological thriller which grabs you in right from the first chapter with it's "if only" statement at the very beginning. Fast paced ,gripping, everything I want a thriller to be and great characters .Set in Ireland with some surprising twists especially the ending .Many thanks to the Publishers the Author and NetGalley for my free copy in return for an honest review .
Remember my Name is psychological thriller with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader invested.
I devoured this book in just a few sittings as I was gripped right from the start.
Cressida Howard suspects her husband may be having an affair and enlists the help from cyber security whizz Brioni O'Brien to get her evidence so she can file for divorce and get a good payout.
There's a few strands going on within the plot - Laurence is a ladies man, he's trying to secure a dodgy deal with a shady American business and will go to great lengths to make it happen, he thinks he's untouchable.
While Laurence tries to blackmail his fellow board members someone is targeting the women closest to him trying to poison them.
And then his business is hit with by a cyber attack with personal details from clients being leaked on the internet and a murder happens in one of his hotels - could anything else go wrong for Laurence?
While all of this drama is unfolding, their teenage daughter Emily-Jane is up to no good on the internet with a mystery character - Danny Boy, just what is she getting herself involved in?
Each chapter is told from either Cressida, Emily-Jane or Brioni's point of view so we get to see the different strands of the plot play out.
The drama and tension quicken in pace as we near the climatic end - will anyone get out unscathed?
A psychological thriller told from the viewpoints of the two main characters. Although a good storyline about revenge I found it at times repetitive. Also I found it difficult to sympathise with or like with the so called victim so not an entirely enjoyable read. However for a debut novel the future looks promising for the author.
I loved this book!! Another great book from my favourite author. This was a fast paced thriller that had me hooked from the first page, I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for the next one. Highly recommended! Five stars ⭐️
Many thanks to netgalley and Sam Blake for the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.
This is a very good psychological thriller with strong and well developed characters.
Cressida Hughes suspects her Dublin tycoon husband of cheating. She wants evidence and contracts security expert Brioni O'Brien to find the truth. But a case of infidelity turns into one of blackmail and murder when Lawrence Hughes' empire is hacked. Meanwhile the couple's teenage daughter is up to something online- but what?
The novel starts slowly, with much of the action related through internal monologues. But the pace soon picks up as a Dublin crime boss, an American businessman and Trump supporter and a mysterious Columbian cybercrime expert become involved.
Remember My Name is a complex and compelling read, with a large number of plot lines running in parallel. The strength of the female lead characters is notable and the ending is well worth waiting for.
Watch Your Back…
When Cressida Howard catches her husband playing away, she begins to gather the evidence that she needs for a lucrative divorce. What she doesn’t anticipate is that her husband is playing with some very dangerous people indeed. Someone else is watching him and has already determined that he will be destroyed along with the women in his life. Cressida needs to watch her back. Compelling psychological suspense with a solid cast of credible characters and an intriguing, compelling plot.
This book is a must read to all those who enjoy a good character driven mystery, especially one where one act drives the next one at a breakneck pace. The marital betrayal serves as merely a backdrop for the business machinations and illegal dealings that shortly follow and threaten to swallow the protagonist and all that she holds dear.
The tagline 'If she’d turned off her phone, instead of listening in, perhaps no one would have died' is immediately attention grabbing and serves as a starting point for an exciting thriller which raises the thorny issue of honesty -
- Cressida who is concerned about her husband's infidelity
- teenager Emily-Jane has a secret social media life that could have legal and life altering consequences
- Brioni is the security expert hired to uncover the truth for Cressida
Although Laurence (possible cheating spouse) is the subject of Brioni's investigation, it is the female characters who lead this novel - each one proving to be both strong and intriguing. Certainly the men become second place and I for one thoroughly enjoyed reading as our female protagonists drove the story-line.
This is a taunt and fast paced thriller, with plenty of hooks to keep the reader's attention.
I also recognise the character of Brioni from the novel 'High Pressure', though she is older now and it was a welcome return to a fun and intelligent female lead.
This is a decent read about blackmail, cheating and danger. I found it to be an easy page turner with some decent twists and I'm grateful to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to preview.
Cressida Howard suspects her husband Laurence of cheating on her so she hires Brioni O'brien to help collect evidence to prove her right.
Laurence is involved with some very dangerous people and someone is out to get him and destroy everything he has at all costs.
Who is being honest is the main concept of this book, plenty of twists and turns make a good read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Atlantic Books for the ARC.
This is a good story with several complicated and interlinked plots. The women doing all the investigations are interesting characters, and the ending is exciting and reveals almost everything.
A great story with so many twists and turns, you are hooked in from start to finish trying to see who is being honest and who isn't
This is strongly plotted and has good characterisation, with the main character in particular having a lot of potential. Somehow it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I found the writing distracting and the pacing inconsistent. As I read the opening chapters I was checking the author's profile to see how many in the series preceded this book and was surprised to find it is a standalone - perhaps that comes from the author's experience in series writing, but the set-up style does not seem to fit a standalone. The characters perhaps deserve a sequel!
My thanks to Atlantic Books and NetGalley for the ARC.

Cressida Howard catches her entrepreneur husband playing away from home, she hires security expert Brioni O'Brien to get the evidence she needs for a speedy and financially rewarding divorce. But what Brioni uncovers goes beyond simple infidelity. Because Laurence Howard is also in bed with some very dangerous people. Bribery and blackmail are the least of his worries as someone comes after the women in his life - someone who is out to destroy Laurence and his empire, whatever the cost.
Thanks to NetGalley and Atlantic Books for giving me an advance copy.
