I really wanted to love this book but unfortunately it wasn’t for me, it had a cool premise and I liked the author’s writing style but I was unable to connect with the characters and the plot and I wasn’t intrigued enough about the mystery, I ended up DNF’ing it as

Rating – 4.0/5 Stars
Recommendation – High
Karen McManus’s writing is crisp and engaging, with a knack for building suspense and crafting unexpected twists. The alternating perspectives of Ivy, Mateo, and Cal provide a comprehensive view of the unfolding events and deepen the reader’s connection to each character.
This book is a thrilling ride that combines mystery, drama, and the complexities of teenage life. The Author continues to prove her mastery in the young adult thriller genre, delivering a story that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. Fans of her previous works and new readers alike will find themselves engrossed in this tale of friendship, secrets, and unexpected danger

This one was just ok it isn’t my favourite book by this author however it was still enjoyable. I liked the main characters and enjoyed the storyline however i much prefer the first series by thid author.

I liked the main characters. It lacked some twists and turns. It is easy to read and well paced.
This book kept me interested

So going into this book my expectations weren't too high since it's just a simple little murder mystery and I'm glad I wasn't expecting much because I would've been so mad. I read One of Us is Lying by this author and I quite enjoyed it, despite the fact that I quickly guessed who the murderer was and got it right.
I was meh about this book throughout the entire thing until the end, where it actually got interesting. But we'll talk more about that.
4 stars

This was my first time reading a book from the author but I am delighted to say I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I look forward to reading more books from the writer in the future!

Another easy to read thriller from McManus and another one I devoured really quickly. I enjoy the multiple POVs in these novels and seeing how the characters all link in together. It's a fun thriller and I reckon I'll continue to buy and read every book Karen McManus writes.

Karen M McManus is a great writer of YA fiction who hooks you in from the first page and keeps you guessing from beginning to end. With You'll Be the Death of Me Karen M McManus takes you into the seedy underbelly drugs within the education system and boy has she written a page turner.
I really enjoyed this multi-perspective novel. The characters were likable but flawed, the plot was believable but exciting and the outcome was satisfying. I bingeworthy read.

Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC of You'll Be the Death of Me by Karen McManus. I apologise for the lateness of this review.
As you would expect from a McManus novel, You'll Be the Death of Me is a page turning, suspense filled teen drama that will keep you guessing.
Easy to read and very enjoyable.

Having read other books by McManus I was excited to start this one. I am a big fan of the writing style used and found this as easy to read as the others. I was not overly convinced by the story line, but did still enjoy it. The ending was particularly disappointing for me.

Karen M. McManus truly is an incredibly writer. I always find that her plots are so well thought out and once you get to the end of the books it’s really easy to pinpoint all of the different threads that came together. I also like how her books deal with more ‘adult topics’ and that she doesn’t shy away from discussing these harder subjects in depth

I do like the series of books. Although I feel this is not one of the best, I enjoyed it. The plot seemed a little over the top but my students would probably like that.

3.5 STARS
This was an interesting book that I enjoyed reading but not as good as I was expecting and I just found it slightly lacking in terms of the author's usual standard.

I started off pretty gripped by this book. I was finding it quick and very easy to read. Getting more engrossed in the storyline and characters. It then started to go a little downhill for me. The plot became a little too far fetched for me and then I didn’t really enjoy the reveal or ending unfortunately. I’ve got with a 3/5 for a balanced review.

I have been a fan of Karen M. McManus since her debut and I think this is a wonderful addition to her work. I was concerned at the start, the reunion between the friends felt a little forced and unrealistic but by midway I was completely hooked by the mystery.
The 'twists' were expertly crafted. I am normally quite good at spotting the culprit in this kind of book but I was surprised at most of the revelations. The books conclusion was satisfying without being too neat. It left the reader content whilst also leaving an opportunity for a possible sequel. Overall, a very typical McManus and I highly recommend.

What I loved about You’ll Be the Death of Me, and so many other McManus books, is that all the characters appear to be mere shallow shells at first. They appear very clichéd and one-dimensional when they are first introduced, but as the story progresses and you find out more of their backgrounds and lives, their true characters are exposed little by little, and in the end it is always a big surprise (or should I say shock) to find out their true motives.
Another thing I love about this author is that she always writes such complex stories. You might not realise it at first, but in the end, when all the secrets are uncovered and the twists and turns start to make sense, you will see how tightly woven and complex the plot really is, and that it is really impossible to guess the solution until the very end – even though you might think you have it right, the books will take another turn and surprise you!
Fast-paced, full of teen angst, high school problems, dark secrets and impossible discoveries, You’ll Be the Death of Me is perfect for all fans of YA mystery thrillers that captivate you and don’t let you go until you have reached the end.
4.5 stars from me!

You'll Be the Death of Me is another suspense filled page turner from Karen M McManus, from the first page you find yourself trying to guess what will happen and you continue to do so as the story unfolds. A great read.

Karen McManus is the queen of teen drama novels, and You’ll Be the Death of Me is definitely full of teen angst and drama. Unfortunately, this novel fell flat for me, which stinks because McManus is a genius.
I couldn’t get behind any of the characters. Not one of them had a redeeming quality at all, and no matter how hard I tried, I didn’t like them. Three past friends who find themselves on a journey of murder sounds like a daring concept and could have been had there been anyone or anything to root for.
I didn’t care about the victim. He sounded like a total jerk. Ivy is a spoiled brat who lashes out because she lost out on the student council. Cal is having an affair with a teacher and stalking her from the sound of it. Matteo has a cousin who is obviously dealing drugs. If there is one character that I cared anything about, it was Matteo.
But even Matteo and his horrible background couldn’t save this book for me. I put it down after six chapters and never picked it back up again. So, with a heavy heart, I award You’ll Be the Death of Me 2 out of 5 stars.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off meets murder? Sign me up! What a thrill of a ride. Could not put this one down. Another exceptional read from McManus.

Another great YA thriller from McManus. I find her books so fun and easy to read and You'll Be The Death Of Me was no exception. I changed my theory several times while reading as there were plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Loved it.
