Aisling is back and heading for the Big Apple.

Wait what....wasn't she just after opening a cafe? And John's engaged and living in Dubai? Well it seems I somehow missed part three of this series and skipped to this. Luckily for me the writers included some handy recaps!

Aisling has been headhunted to work for an events firm in New York. On her own in the city that never sleeps she's determined to find her feet, be a successful executive and most importantly keep pronouncing names in their proper Irish way. As she recovers from her latest John heartbreak (that boy...tsk) she throws herself into her new life. New experiences and maybe love beckon. But one thing is sure....she remains a complete Aisling.

This series is like a warm hug. There's a certain amount of wish fulfilment I think but why not? Most books I read torture their heroines. Aisling has bad things happen but ultimately this is a feelgood series. Even Covid is spoofed with The Big Stink. I seem to be overusing the word (I feel like a Daily Mail writer) but the only way to describe this is hilarious.

There's something very refreshingly different in this series. Aisling is, well...;;;;Aisling regardless whether she lives in Ireland or New York. She's a survivor. Not always the daintiest survivor but you know that she will get her wellies well and truly full of mud while scraping through whatever disaster thrown in her path.

An exceptional series.

I adore the Aisling series, the books are a delight and always highly anticipated. These books are the ultimate in comfort reading and the series that I always recommend.
Moving Aisling to New York was genius, it was great to see her out of her comfort zone and tackling the big city of New York.
The only gripe I had with this book was the secondary storyline happening in BGB, I felt it unnecessary, I'm guessing it was added to make light of the situation we have been in the past 2 years but I was not a fan of it.
Saying that I am of course looking forward to the next (and last!) in the Aisling saga, The cliffhanger ending was amazing and had me screaming at the book for more chapters!

Aisling is 31, and she's still a complete Aisling.

With her cafe BallyGoBrunch flying and the door firmly closed on her relationship with boyfriend John, Aisling accepts an unexpected job offer and boards a business-class flight to New York in her best wrap dress and heels.

As she finds her feet in the Big Apple, she throws herself into the dating game, grapples with 'always-on' work culture, forges and fights for new friendships and brings her good wedges to a party in the Hamptons, much to her friend, Sadhbh's, dismay.
But catching up with family and friends on WhatsApp and email is not the same as sitting in Maguire's putting the world to rights over mini bottles of Pinot Greej and a shared bag of Taytos.
And yet New York has so much to offer, not least in the fireman department . . .really enjoyed this one

Book 4 in the absolutely hilarious Aisling series and this one was just as good as the previous ones. Having read the other 3 books I was so excited to start this one and it didn’t fail. A fun filled read that I can’t recommend highly enough.

As per the previous three books, the Aisling series is a warm hug and makes me feel a bit homesick even though I'm not away from home!!! The ultimate Irish comfort read

I am a huge fan of this series so was excited to catch up with the BallyGobbard bunch!

In this instalment, Aisling is older, enjoying success at BallyGoBrunch with her new partner Carol, but is now single and after the shock of her ex John moving to Dubai with his new girlfriend, feels a little bit lost and unsure what to do next. Which is why when she is offered a very exciting opportunity that will mean her leaving her beloved BGB behind for the Big Apple, she doesn't take long to say yes!

This is still Aisling we are dealing with though and she is still, obviously, a complete Aisling, so it was never going to run smoothly and the trip, her arrival in Queens and her subsequent search for a closer apartment and first day at the office are suitably Aisling-esque!
While still keeping up with all the gang and BGB goings-on via Zoom, emails and WhatsApp messages, we also get to see how Ais copes out of her comfortable little BGB bubble and are introduced to some great new characters.

This was another brilliant read in this wonderful, uplifting, hilarious series! We all know an Aisling and I would really love to know this one too. I am a bit sad to hear that the next is the last, but can't wait to get my hands on it after that ending! I can't recomend this whole series enough and wholeheartedly do to anyone in the mood for a fun, easy read!

Great to catch up with Aisling and her crew in the latest instalment of O.M.G.W.A.C.A. Aisling in the City is the penultimate book in the series and what a joy it is. In this story Aisling is headhunted to work in New York City as an executive no less, with Mandy Blumenthal. So with some trepidation Aisling soon finds herself living life in the Big Apple, while her ex John has moved to Dubai with his fiancé.
For me this book was a return to the Aisling we met in the very first book, living away from Ballygobbard and all her home comforts. But no better girl than Aisling to immerse herself into the Manhattan way of life, while at the same time keeping abreast of all the happenings in her hometown.
This is a must read for all Aisling fans and if it’s your first Aisling, well, you’ve a treat in store. For me it’s 3⭐️. Thanks to #NetGalley for an ARC.

I loved this book! I have adored every title in the Aisling series since it first began and this book didn't disappoint. I think that moving Aisling to New York gave her story a fresh perspective, and, as always, I loved the humour in the book. I also really enjoyed the parallels between the 'big stink' back home in Ireland and the Covid-19 lockdowns, and I was very invested in the love story between Aisling and her ex. In fact, when I read the last line of the book, the first thing I thought was 'Brilliant! That means there is going to be another book'. I can't wait to read more Aisling.

Book 4 and the penultimate in the popular Oh My God What a Complete Aisling series, sees Aisling leaving her precious Ballygobbard and taking a job in New York City! This is the perfect book for these and any times, especially for those missing home and wondering how they make it in a big city.

There are some books that you pick up and you instantly feel like you've been wrapped up in a big fluffy blanket and are in a world of pure comfort. The Aisling books will always be those books for me. There is something so loveable and wholesome about them without them being overly twee that makes them a weighted blanket in book form. You know you're going to get plenty of giggles, time to cover your eyes and even more times where you will want to roll them affectionately at Aisling and her antics.

Aisling And The City is the perfect next step for these books. It was fantastic to see Aisling grow in confidence and flourish in the big apple despite the absolute bundle of knots she had in her stomach. As usual there's plenty of little bumps in the road, albeit sidewalk this time, and Aisling sidesteps and overcomes them all in her very own Aisling way. As always I didn't want it to end and really hope that there is far more of Aisling and her little quirks to come.

I started AATC the week my Dad was transferred into hospital/hospice and had it in my bag for all of that week. There was so much comfort in having it there even to just stare at the page blankly at 2 am while I sat with Dad. Dad passed on the 27th and I didn't think I would have the headspace for reading for a long time. I picked it up the morning we got back from Cork after the funeral and the enveloping comfort and little touch of normality was so nice to have. So thank you both to Emer and Sarah for that unexpected comfort. Books are so much more than just the paper they're written on.

The 4th installment of Aisling (OMGWACA) did not disappoint. In fact, I think it might be my favourite. It was like getting a hug, made me feel happy and warm. Ending left it open for a .... To be continued..... Long live Aisling

This is the penultimate entry, the title a play on the popular NYC Sex and the City series, in Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen's fun A Complete Aisling series, set in small town BallyGobbard in Ireland with all its offbeat and quirky residents. Aisling is now 31, her business with Carol Boland, BallyGoBrunch, is going well, she is a single woman, after the surprising shock of her ex-boyfriend, John, revealing he has a new girlfriend, teacher Megan, after which he moves with her to Dubai. Then, out of the blue, Aisling gets a call from Mandy Blumenthal offering her job as an executive in her event planning business in New York. Aisling spends time pondering the pros and cons of moving to the Big Apple, but it doesn't take long before the excitement of all the possibilities and experiences that will open up to her grab her, she would be mad to not go.

This has her boarding the plane, her visa organised for her, travelling business class for the first time in her wrap around dress. Once in NYC she is living in Queens temporarily with Gearoidin, a cousin from her late father's side, but it is some distance from Manhattan where she is to work. This has Aisling looking for affordable living possibilities closer to work, which she finds as she moves in with the elusive Fatima, a flatmate she never catches sight of for most of the novel. Work is a revelation, although Aisling is not as important as she had imagined she would be, there is no office for her and Mandy's assistant, Aubrey, is not so welcoming. As Aisling adjusts to the non-stop work culture and the pressures of her job, she makes new friends, and meets with old one's like Sadhbh, signs on with dating app Bumble, and finds a fireman who grabs her interest, but can she forget John?

Aisling's Irish personality serves her well in her new home, her mix of charm and naivety has her assuaging some of her homesickness and loneliness with the Irish 'mafia', although it is not all plain sailing. The BallyGobbard crowd and her family are not forgotten, Aisling keeps in touch with her Mammy, brother Paul, and others through WhatsApp and email, with best friend Majella coming to visit her in New York. However, I am not so sure the nod to the pandemic with the mysterious illness and stink at BallyGobbard works so well. This continues to be an entertaining, humorous and engaging series, and I enjoyed reading about Aisling's new job and life in New York, although I was not so keen on her continuing obsession with John as they re-open communications with each other, I just cannot see what she sees in him. Many thanks to the publisher for an ARC.

If you have gotten as far as book four, you've already fallen in love with Aisling and will need no more convincing. If you haven't yet met Aisling, Majella, and the various other residents of Ballygobbard, you are in for a treat. Pick up 'Oh My God, What a Complete Aisling' now.

Thank you to Penguin and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love Aisling, I loved her in the first book, then got on to other series, but when I saw this book had come out I binge-read the previous 2 to catch myself up, now that I'm up to date I'm gutted that I'll have to wait for the next one to find out what happens.
I really enjoyed this story about her NYC adventure whilst still hearing all the goings on from Ballygobbard and the girls (Sadhbh is my favourite)
I loved the Irish Mafia and the Lemsips, but I found the Ballygobbard side story a bit tough going as it seems a bit to current.
I laughed, I cried and I laughed some more, can't wait for the next one.
My thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for my eARC in return for my honest review.

These books seem to be like a balm to the soul for Irish gals. And while I can see the appeal, and probably knew a few Aislings when I was younger, I can’t say I love them. They’re a breezy easy read. I’ve read them all, and they’re grand, but they’re all much the same thing. That’s just my thoughts on them. I can see why so many people enjoy them, and while I’ve read them and thought they were fine, I wouldn’t be raving about them.

This was a joy to read, full of Irish humour set around a New York backdrop, I loved the characters in this book and enjoyed reading this tale of Aislings transition into New York life. The settings were well written and you felt like you were there, the U2 appearance was hilarious
