This was a gripping read! I couldn't put it down. I really felt for the characters and rooted for them. A great read.

The Interview had me on the edge of my seat for most of the book! It’s quite a unique story, and wasn’t what I was expecting even from reading the blurb, although it is about an interview turned bad, it’s a lot to do with corporate cover-ups and silencing whistleblowers, which doesn’t normally feature in the thrillers I read so it was a nice change-up! Yes, it is pretty over the top & far-fetched, but it’s written so well, that it’s easier to suspend belief than some other action thrillers. It’s not obvious where the story is going to go, and there’s a bunch of points throughout where you think you have it sussed, but then get thrown a curveball. Great, fast-paced, enjoyable read!

Unfortunately I DNF'd this book, as I could get in to the story. I found it quite boring and couldn't really get it in to it.

This was a really entertaining novel - I loved the locked door aspect of it and I genuinely had no idea what was going on with it.

I’m excited to see what Chris releases next as this was fast paced and furious with memorable characters.

A really interesting read.

This is an interesting and fast paced thriller. The characters were so good. It has elements of romance and mystery. It is a bit far fetched in places

The Interview is an action-packed thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was hooked from the get-go and was desperately turning the pages to find out how it would end. I found myself really rooting for Kate. Other reviews have said its far fetched and unbelievable, but if you can suspend belief for a while, its an enjoyable ride.

Kate Harding has an interview for the position of PR Account Manager at Edge Communications. This is her dream job and understandingly she is nervous when she arrives at their stunning office.

Kate has recently suffered a personal tragedy and was not looking for a new job. She was contacted by Maggie at an agency and encouraged to go for this position.

Kate is flummoxed to start with as she thought her interview was with Amanda Palmer and instead it's with Joel, she had done her research on Amanda and had thought their work backgrounds were similar which would go in her favour.

Joel has been hired to conduct this unorthodox interview, his talent is getting to the truth behind generic questions.

Kate is uncomfortable with the psychometric test. One of the questions is:

"When I am having sex I picture myself with other partners"

Kate starts to wonder what she has got herself into. Realising that she is on her own with Joel on the thirteenth floor, without any resources and fearing for her life.

The reader has some flashbacks and we gradually start to understand why this situation is happening, as Kate is forced to confront her past to protect her future.

I loved this tense and gripping thriller. I couldn't put this great book down as I was desperately turning the pages to find out how this amazing read would end.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

So this is the third book I have read now from c m Ewan and I can say he is one of my new favourite authors. This book like the other two had me completely hooked. It's a long time since I've read a book where the tension has been verging on unbearable! Loved it!!

Really enjoyable thriller that felt like reading a blockbuster action film! I was hooked to the book, which builds tension steadily and weaves it through moments of high-intensity action. I liked the political elements and messaging as well. Overall a very solid thriller that was a lot of fun to read!

I love how the author has woven such an intricate and compelling story. The book grabbed me from the first page and I struggled to put it down. Twists in every chapter. Brilliant!

Due to a family passing at the time, I was unable to download this in time before it was archived, and having only returned after several years away due to it severely affecting me, I am now working my way through those reviews I was unable to get to to detail the issue. Thank you for the opportunity, and I look forward to working with you in the future.

Thank you PanMacmillan and Netgalley.
This was a new author to me and one to definitely watch.
I liked the storyline and characters but at times the story made me feel a little uncomfortable.
It was good to read something a bit different but I struggled at times.
Good book though but due to the struggling I would have given 3.5 but that is why I have given 3.

I loved the way this book is told from various points of view and over a short time period. I think this is why I couldn’t put it down. Sat up reading it till I couldn’t stay awake! A very different story with characters you feel are believable and you will root for.

I struggled to get into this and found myself keep putting it down. The idea of the story was compelling but just wasn't pulled off well. I also guessed the ending very early on.

This author is becoming one to watch in future. The book was so well written, keeping you glued until the end. Does she get out, doesn't she? You really had to finish it to see if everything works out or not. Really entertaining.

Kate used to work as an air hostess for a large airline but after losing her husband in an air crash, she has been out of work for quite a while. When she finally reaches the decision that's time to return to work, her agent Maggie sets up an interview at 5pm on a Friday night for her dream job. She meets up with her agent, Maggie before the interview for a pep talk that this job is perfect for her and arranges to meet her again afterwards.

She arrives at the luxurious offices and taken to the 13th floor where she meets Joel. She had been forewarned that Joel likes to add unusual interview questions rather than general ones. At the start of the interview she is asked to fill out a personality questionnaire whilst Joel sits and studies her body language. He is difficult to read and she soon starts to feel a little uncomfortable under his constant gaze.

As times goes on, the questions start turning darker and it seems that Joel is wanting answers to questions that aren't specifically being asked - nor anything to do with the job advertised. Things go from bad to worse when Kate realises everybody has left and there is just the two of them now and she is locked in what appears a glass cube. Who exactly is Joel working for and what does he want from Kate?

The premise of the book is a great thriller but the actual story is slow in places but quite repetitive which does take the edginess of the situation.

A good idea but too repetitive

This made me incredibly uncomfortable. I found myself was squirming in my seat, like it was me having the interview. It got dark so quickly. The panic that I felt reading this was crazy. The twists aswell, I never saw coming. Certainly kept me on my toes. It was such a brilliant book, written so well, I didn't want to put it down. Action packed is an understatement. I will look foward to reading more by @c.m.ewan
