What a beautiful, poignant picture book, a lovely way to explore the grief of losing a loved one with young children. The story is very community oriented as well and is very much about sharing our gifts with others and the importance of kindness being our default setting. The soft toned illustrations have an almost dreamlike feel and the sudden cessation of colour when dadaji passes away is very effective and helps you to empathise with this young boy’s feelings of loss.
