I really enjoyed Lucy Foley's previous books The Hunting Party and The Guest List, but this one didn't appeal to me in quite the same way, I think because I didn't really manage to relate to any of the characters and didn't really grasp their motivation. The opening sees Jess arrive in Paris at her brother's apartment, only to find him mysteriously missing. As she begins to try and figure out what's going on, she comes across other residents in his apartment building and realises nobody is quite who they seem. It is very well paced and kept me guessing, but I didn't connect with it as strongly as I did her previous books. Still a very enjoyable mystery, though!

This was an enjoyable read.
The story was told from different POVs, each adding something more to the plot and adding to the sense of unease for the main character. Some things were hinted and some revealed in flashbacks, there were twists and suspicions throughout this book. I can see this working very well as a movie.

A great book with more twists than any other book I have read in a long time.
Jess arrives in Paris after escaping her life in England. When she arrives at her half-brothers apartment, he is nowhere to be found. Follow Jess on her journey to find out what happened to Ben and meet the strange characters she comes across.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

Once again Lucy Foley introduced me to a group of people with their own stories and took me through the twists emerging from the group of people who all luve in a Paris Apartment block.
Who are they? Why are they there? Who do you trust? Can you trust anyone?
The beginning was slow as the group and their stories play out, you get the POV of all the different characters in relation to the events going on around them. Then the pace quickens to an "ohhh" finale.
Lucy Foley has became a go to author for me and her stories always intrigue me and keep me reading.
Thank you #NetGalley and #HarperCollins for the eArc to review.

Thanks to Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in return for a free unbiased review.
An enjoyable book, my first from Lucy Foley, that grabbed me right from the opening scene and never really let go! Several times I thought I had worked out where the story was headed, only for the plot to take another unexpected twist. The author's approach of telling the story from the point of view of several different characters worked very well, although the nature of those characters made it difficult to really feel invested in any of them.
I listened to the audiobook version, and found that the cast of narrators was very well suited to their roles and really brought the story to life. Recommended.

It’s still early in the year, but this has ‘book of the year’ written all over it! Great suspense. Intriguing characters. Loved it!

I love Lucy Foley's writing and I loved her previous two books, but I was unable to connect with The Paris Apartment. The writing as always was flawless, it was probably a case of wrong book, wrong time, I'm afraid. I do look forward to future books.
Because I didn't connect with it I have not shared my views anywhere other than here. I don't think its the right thing to do. I only share when I love a book.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book.
A mystery set in an apartment in Paris. I had no idea where this one was going but I enjoyed it a lot and having stayed somewhere similar, the writing took me right back there.

I have enjoyed Lucy Foleys previous books and was looking forward to this new one.
I found this was a slow burner and did drag a bit at the start and middle however I kept reading and the pace picked up in the last third of the book. I enjoyed the characters and plot line and the guessing throughout where it was going. It is a good read if you enjoys psychological thrillers.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an Arc in exchange for an honest opinion

This is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good thriller!!
Absolutely loved the characters, the plot, the tension - impossible to put it down

This is probably my least favorite novel by Lucy Foley.. It's not a bad novel in comparison to her other ones but it just felt like it was lacking and a little mediocre. The writing was great but I felt the characters were a little flat and there was some that kind of blended together. The ending was okay but it did feel a little unplausable.

Lucy Foley has done it again - this time in the City of Light...but there are dark secrets in an apartment building in a wealthy neighbourhood. Jess is looking for her brother, Ben, but what she finds is a mystery. With a wonderful cast of characters, I was completely sucked into the story. Engrossing and pacy.

Thank you for the ARC copy! The Paris Apartment definitely reminded me of Lucy Foley's other works, and is very much in her style of a gripping mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

A story that promised so much…
Let me not detract from the book. In premise it is sound, the plot and the characters are strong.
However, please, please, please… leave GRRM’s style of writing to him, he’s the only one strong enough to carry it off.
What do I mean? Let me explain. Like I have said a strong plot and characters. Here’s where I have an issue. As a book, it is disjointed and scattered jumping from one character to another at random intervals not allowing for a picture to fully form. Never seeming to get to the point that was being implied.
With a little more thought, this book could have been great. I feel that its languishing in being good. And, that is a real shame. I liked this book. But, there is a part of me screaming out that I could have loved this book.
Status: Completed
Rating 3.7/5.0

I went into this with very high hopes - Lucy Foley is a highly revered author. But I felt this dragged quite a bit and it didn't catch my attention as much as her other two novels have.
I really enjoyed the start, but after a while it became a little too confusing and convoluted.

Lucy Foley has done it again. This is another creepy and atmospheric book which has pulled me in from the very beginning.
There are a whole array of characters in this one. I can safely say I had no idea who to trust from the very beginning. I had very mixed opinions of each throughout, I found these changing as I read on.
Foley has transported me with this one, it’s definitely a book that doesn’t disappoint. I love how Foley makes you feel the claustrophobia and spookiness of house.
The plot builds well throughout this one and it’s hard to predict where it’s going. There is a twist which you don’t see coming. This definitely adds an element to this one.
This is another gem from a truly talented author. It flows perfectly and really does transport you. This is a book which is entertaining and easy to become lost in the pages. This is definitely a book that I will be recommending.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. A missing brother and the search for the truth, it’s a good premise and the setting in the slightly sinister building is good. With lots of characters all acting suspiciously, it is a good read, though a little slow in places.

Jess goes to stay with her brother in his Paris apartment but when she arrives he isn’t there.
We follow her search which leads to various characters who are not all as they seem
An interesting storyline and characters

Having loved Foley's The Hunting Party and loathed The Guest List, I was very curious to see what I'd think of her third book.
The Paris Apartment starts out strong -- we have a missing man, a concerned sister, and an apartment building filled with shifty characters. I really loved the general weirdness in the first half of the book -- Foley does a great job of ramping up the tension and the sense that something is very wrong. I also really enjoyed the revelations made in the middle of the book! However after that, I feel like a lot of that tension and mystery was lost in the second half. By the time the book came to a close, I felt a little underwhelmed. It was, however, still a good read and I would recommend it for thriller readers, but I just don't think she stuck the landing.

Overall this book was just OK. I did enjoy it but I've read better books. I felt that this book was so slow to get into and did drag a little. When I got to about a quarter of the way through it did get better.
