I love all of Lucy’s previous books so I was desperate to read this new one. It didn’t disappoint and I would go so far as to say it’s my favourite.
What I really loved about this book is the way we hear from different points of view. Some books can get confusing when attempting this but the characterisation was so good I had no trouble here.
Another major highlight for me was the twist which I didn’t predict at all.
Thank you to HarperCollins and Netgalley for an ARC.

This is the third book I've read by Lucy Foley and it is another cracking thriller.
A clever spin on a closed-room mystery, with the scene taking place for the most part in a, apartment building at number 12 Rue des Amants in Paris. The creepy and claustrophobic setting was so vividly described I could see it clearly – from the different flats in the building to the dumbwaiter to the maid's room in the roof.
Jess comes to Paris to stay with her half-brother, Ben, a journalist, who is nowhere to be seen. She quickly realises something is very wrong and she needs to uncover the story Ben was investigating in order to work out who might have wanted him to disappear and what has happened to him. She doesn't know who to turn to for help – who can she trust?
There's no shortage of suspects in this whodunnit. It's not even clear until the very end what write has been committed. Foley skillfully drip-feeds clues from several characters' points-of-views in short, punchy chapters and expertly builds up suspense and tension until the climax at the end.
Highly recommended.

I enjoyed reading Foley's latest thriller which is written from different POV's of the many characters involved. Foley keeps you reading until the very end where we eventually find.out the truth about what happened to Jess's brother Ben.

The Apartment by Lucy Foley is another success by the author, whose other books I have read and enjoyed.
Jess has escaped to Paris from London and is expecting her half brother Ben to be at the address he has told her he is living at. When she arrives the following day at the address he isn’t there to meet her and she struggles to gain access to the apartment.
When she finally gets into the apartment Ben has disappeared and the other residents are not particularly friendly.
Eventually Jess manages to uncover what has been happening but puts her own life in danger.
Highly recommended

This was such a quick paced read. With it’s shorts chapters and it’s multiple POVs it has a resemblance to The Guest List and I loved it. There is some great character built which slows down the pace just a bit, but contributes so much to the story I was still flying through it. I really enjoyed the ending. It’s definitely more mystery than thriller. It kept me guessing till the very end and I just wanted to keep reading to find out the truth!

This is my favourite Lucy Foley book to date. The Parisian backdrop worked really well, and I particularly enjoyed the theme of a complex family and the dangers of money and power.
I did find the book a bit far fetched at times however, which is why I would give this book a 3.5 rounded down. Without giving away any spoilers, I’m not sure even the secret service could crack a computer password so quickly! Also there were a few strands of story that didn’t come to a conclusion.
Overall a good, easy read with some unexpected twists and turns.
With thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Jess runs from her abusive employer and seeks refuge with her brother Ben, a journalist who has moved into a swish Paris apartment with an old university friend. When she gets to Paris and contacts him the call is cut off, and when she gets to the apartment he 's not there. None of the other residents nor the creepy concierge seem eager to help. What's going on?The more Jess finds out, the more intriguing and complex it becomes. It will keep you riveted, a great read.

Another excellent psychological mystery from Lucy Foley and it’s a great read. Set in Paris in a very sinister apartment this is a story that is full of surprises and most of which I never saw coming. The story from the very beginning intrigued me there were so many suspicious characters all brilliantly written and all of them seemed to have something to hide. Because of the way this book was written with mainly each chapter narrated by a different character it gave up secrets little by little and with so many twists throughout I flew through the book desperately trying to figure out what was what.
I really do love a book that that surprises me and this one did many times it was also creepy and atmospheric which added to the suspense and it’s my favourite so far by this author, many thanks to her for a fabulous read.
So I book I can highly recommend it’s different and extremely well written with a whole heap of very disturbing characters so what more could you want !
My thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK, Harper Fiction for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

A n average read. This was a story of family relationships and problems which can still occur years later after children are grown up and can still be affected even if they don't realise it..Didn't really connect with the characters or the story line but I'm sure it could appeal to some readers.

I struggled to get into this book but I persevered and I’m pleased I did. I wasn’t as gripping as I expected but was a decent story that kept my interest

Lucy Foley creates the most amazing thrillers. There’s a really strong sense of location in The Paris Apartment. I was swept into the area with the old ornate buildings, the concierge and assorted residents. Everyone has something to hide and as the narrative switches between those in residence, a complex story starts to unfold. There’s a strong sense of menace running through the story, right from the start and even the building seems watchful.
Jess arrives from the UK for a break, to stay with her half brother, Ben. He lives in one of the apartments, but he’s disappeared. She hooks up with a friend of Ben who also lives in the block and who agrees to help her find Ben. The other residents are an eclectic mix of socialites and oddballs and their secrets and insights are intriguing. Ever watchful, the concierge sees all.
I warmed to Jess immediately. She’s inventive and determined and the story is cleverly constructed around her efforts to find out what’s happened. It’s a tense mystery thriller where it’s difficult to know whose narrative may be trusted. Very atmospheric, filled with great characters and twists. Another winner.
My thanks to the publisher for a review copy via Netgalley.

Another great read from the author Lucy Foley, I thoroughly enjoyed The Guest List and found both titles hard to put down. I finished this book in very few sittings. Jess needs to get away and decides to go visit her brother Ben but when she gets there her brother cannot be found. A suspense filled who dunnit novel - a must read thriller!

What an amazing book. This ticks all the boxes if you're a fan of crime, thrillers and mysteries.
It centres around a posh Paris apartment and the various people living in the apartment block.
When the central character visits, she finds herself embroiled in the case of a missing tenant where no-one is as they seem.
Can't recommend this book highly enough if you want to read a mystery with a difference.

Another great book by Lucy Foley, she has a knack of unwinding a story very slowly and then it coming together very quickly in the last couple of chapters!!
‘Jess may have come to Paris to escape her past, but it’s starting to look like it’s Bens future that’s in question’
The Paris Apartment follows Jess as she arrives in Paris to stay with her brother Ben, Jess is broke & alone after leaving her job in the UK… When she arrives she discovers Ben isn’t home and he doesn’t return the following day. Jess has a feeling something bad has happened to her brother and isn’t really welcomed by any of the residents at 12 Rues de Amants
It appears nothing is as it seems…. Everyone knows something they’re not telling!!!
I liked the pace of this book, the web of characters and the determination that Jess has to find out what has happened to her brother, she really is the only character that you’re championing! There are question marks over everyone else. This does have a dark side which I didn’t see coming (like the ending!)
Thank you to HarperCollins & netgalley for a digital ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

I found this book a bit confusing. It didn't really flow and I couldn't see where the plot was going. It was all a bit far fetched and unlikely. A bit disappointing.

I really enjoyed this thriller, set in a grand old Parisian apartment with a generally dislikeable cast of characters - several of whom narrate. We follow Jess as she desperately searches for her missing brother Ben. I liked Jess - she was a complex character, and it was good to read her accounts alongside the mysterious residents of the apartment. It was implausible at times, but still a fun and twisty read.

I gave 3 stars but it’s really more like 2.5-2.75 from me. I enjoyed Licy Foyles’ previous books. Never 5 stars but they were entertaining even though her characters are the most annoying you can find in thrillers😂 but this one… I just didn’t connect with it at any level. It could be the French words you find throughout the book. It just came across as overly pretentious to me🙈 the story didn’t hold my interest. So unfortunately this is a miss for me! But if you like Lucy Foyels books, give it a go! You might still enjoy this!

I thought this book was really good & will be recommending it to others. Thanks for the opportunity to read & review this book. Lucy is a great author.

This rip-roaring book grabbed me from the opening chapter and held me in its thrall until the very last page.
Jess arrives in Paris to stay with her half-brother, but when she arrives at the glamorous apartment block she not only finds that he has disappeared, but that there is something very dark at the heart of the building.
The short chapters work really well to maintain the fast pace of the book. Each chapter reveals just how discordant her neighbours are; none of them are to be trusted and as Jess digs further into what has happened to Ben it becomes clear that her own life is in danger. Each apartment owner has their own secrets and reasons for hindering Jess's investigation and the tension really ramps up as I raced to discover where the threat to Jess was coming from. However, nothing is as it seems and the unexpected reveals and plot developments all culminate to create a brilliantly satisfying conclusion and a full 5 stars from this reader.
My thanks go to the publishers and NetGalley for the advanced copy in return for an honest review.

Honestly what can I say this book was really something else!! From the first chapter I was hooked and couldn't put it down, to the point I was finding time during my working day to read it. Foley's writing is brilliant, the pace of the prose keeps you wanting more. It beings with Ben and the imminent arrival of his sister Jess; with an abrupt twist right at the beginning of the story. Who's at the door and what has happened? We learn of the paths different siblings take in life and how no matter what the ties of family are always stronger than what we think.
hats off to Foley for yet another nail biting novel!! One everyone will want to read!
